@gayman19100 just go look at the jd power long term dependability study (not the 90 day study) for 2011. nissan is well below the industry average, hyundai, honda, toyota are above it. add to that, this was done on 3 yrs ownership, which neans the current, even more advanced hyundais werent even part of that study.

the only thing being smoke is nissan....by hyundai (and toyota, honda, and most of the doemstics).

The nissan versa is a much better car than the accent. I have drivin both and the nissan performed alot better. You get more room in the versa and the cvt transmission is light years ahead of a 6 speed reg auto transmission

no need for a comparison. the 12 accent is so much nicer than the versa. the accent is now compact sized, has a nicer interior, more power, better mpg, better reliability rankings. its a better car than the versa...not even a question. id say after driving all the subcompacts, the accent hatch is overall top in the class.

the versa is now the car to get if you want a new car and cant afford anything better.

@gayman19100 i thought like that once upon a time. those days are long gone. long term dependability studies have hyundai ahead of both honda (barely) and nissan by an even wider margin. of the japanese makes, nissan clearly brings up the rear behind honda and toyota. ive lived in japan and nissan kinda like the redheaded stepchild over there. cant live in the past forever. in the 60's-early 80's toyota and honda were considered crap. they moved beyond that. so has hyunda.

I don't mind the snark and edge if it's kinda balanced. Biggest thing missing was any mention of trim levels. It sounded to me like they were comparing a fully loaded Accent to the Base Versa. Overall decent video and a big improvement over the "this car just sucks" style review of recent weeks. I see where they are going here and it could be good when done right.

This was a terrible review, and even incorrect. I checked out the cargo capacities, and the Nissan has the edge. The accent is the better looker in my opinion, may even perform better, but really this guy did not look at the whole picture (it just feels better.... why? tell me something). Price, content, fuel economy etc. this is why people buy these cars. They are basic transportation at a cheap price, that is why they exist.

@remelsheikh I agree. The Versa doesn't really stand a chance with most cars, even a bicycle. Versa is very, very basic even the interior looks like its from '97. Its horrible. The hatch that is going to come over (I assume) next year looks better on the outside at least. I'm guessing it will be the "higher" end version while the sedan is the base version.
