@ajsledzep it's music, the lyrics are up to you to figure out. it could be about God if you want it to be about God and it could be about your girlfriend if you want it to be about your girlfriend. And Switchfoot doesn't care who their fans are as long, Christian or not, they play their music hoping it'll make a difference somewhere or in someone's life. and yeah it's a shame some fans tend to worship the artist and for the wrong reasons, but it happens and we could only hope for the best.

@ajsledzep It's the "sick" that need help, not the "healthy". If they were a pure christian band, then they probably wouldn't get the chance to help the "sick". I don't remember the exact verse, or what verse, but it basically is saying the first part of this comment. I mean no offence.

Hm, no. The Del Mar Fair is a yearly fair that goes on in San Diego, CA around June-July. And about the lights, they used to do that almost every time they would play On Fire. But now the crowds are getting bigger so it's kind of complicated.

everytime during the show, Jon pulls out the rope lights, meaning he's gonna go into the crowd and throw it at us. i've experienced it twice! =D

Blindside did something similar at Cornerstone 1997. Christian(the singer) literally handed the mic to someone in the crowd and let him sing the entire chorus and part of the second verse of "Invert" while he danced around on stage. It looked amazing!

Yeah!  I have a copy of Facedown Records' Something Worth Fighting For CD/DVD and it has footage of the band Jesus Wept at Facedown Fest 2005. Dan Quiggle(the lead singer) practically faced the mic extremely close towards the front of the moshpit crowd during the majority of their song "Sick City" when he said 'During this song, this mic is yours.'
