Great exhaust sound covers up some of the motor noise and clatter. Love the wartime looking saddlebags and rear rack. What seat did you install, and does RE offer the bags, etc as accessories? I bet the wife was yucking it up over the fail to start sequence. Thanks for the posting.

do u have problem with the electric start? my battery is always too weak to electrically start it.
also, it rusts so easily. other than that it is an awesome sturdy bike.

In India...Royal enfield Cast-Iron engine bullets r very common n u can c it everywhere!
n we can easily start it.....there is mechanics of old age in street sides...having no building...n even gud tools...but they knows Royal Enfield as their partner n after their tuning it will start even a cat jump on the kicker..hehehe...Dude..in such times...u just off ignition, hold the decompressor on n give 8/10 free kick..then u on ignition n try it. it will roar like a lion..it's our passion in India.

I was very busy at that time, used the bike as a horse everyday, didn't have time to fix it, anyway ... my wife thought it was very funny and filmed me at 6 am when I was leaving for work.
Now the bike starts first kick ( believe me or not ). :)
Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about my friend. Two years ago me and my wife, we did a tour around north India on Bullet Machismo 350. It was an incredible experience, we made 5000 km and visited places like: Mandawa, Pushkar, Mathura, Orchhna, Khajurahoo, Chitrakoot, Allahabad, Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Manali and many many more smaller and bigger towns and villages.....
Now that looked like hard work. I always start mine on the centre stand, I can't do it sitting on the bike. I've noticed that if I leave the fuel in the 'on' position (when parked overnight) it starts more easily next time, and even without choke (unless the weather is cold). Sounded great once you got it going. Bravo! Nice video.
Pump the choke get some fule in there, turn the kick start till the needle dips, then let it come up and kick, (should get 2 sparks in) else you'll be there all day. You just cant kick these things and hope. Also I find it much easier to get gear on and then kick if from the side rather than on it

@22asmita It has a technique to start, if you kick it without knowing it then even if you kick for whole day it wont start and might brake your leg.
