@Cloudy2Clear As far as I understand it has the same medicinal properties as silver but is not as cost effective. This and the fact that's it has held value for over 6000 years. That value remains relatively the same, it is just that fiat dollars eventually loose their purchasing power. And what was once around $40 is now $1600 and up. Personally I prefer silver & lead. Everything that has value still will, but paper will just be paper, unless we agree it has value.

Agreed that the economy is faltering now massively, but will silver prices ever hit $100 an ounce? I don't know. Too many things are made with silver, so I don't think it benefits corporations, and also the governments that they control, if silver is too expensive to use commercially. I am right now losing on the silver I bought near its peak. I think it could go back to $50 an ounce, but the market will be manipulated too much until the day of a nuclear holocaust when the governments fail.
