  • Giuttari fortunately did not follow the FBI's profile otherwise no one would pay for these crimes!!

  • To klaaun. I just felt deeply sorry for all the lost. This true life story has blown the door wide open to my soul.

  • haha this is hilarious monster of florence what a lad! please tell me this is real!!!

  • I just finished the book. I was interested about the outcome and amazed at the incompetence of the Italian police and judicial systems. I still can't believe I've never heard of this case before, though.

  • @LupisNero indeed

its almost like the monster realy isnt the murderer

its like the whole shit around it is the monster

  • @LupisNero is not so easy, i am sorry but this book is pure fantasy. Italian police was impreparate that's sure, but the Monster was (is) probably the most clever serial killer Ever. there is Not a case like this in History, the Monster of Florence it's a very intricated story full of crazy peaple and horrible family stories.

  • Pietro Pacciani was not the monster of Florence ...

But for years he raped his daughters, and I hope that is burning in hell!

    (sorry my english)

  • Hi, i'm italian and in 1984 when I was 15 y.o. I lived near Vicchio and i remember that the same day of Rontini and Stefanacci death i saw many police cars before their murder. I never understood why! But this is the past, now in Florence almost none talks about the "monster".

However, many people think that the murderer (or murderers) has not been found only because police did not their job well done..I recommend reading the books on the case ol the lawyer Filastò, they're very interesting

  • so is the book worth reading or is it full of bullshit ?

  • It's well written and also includes an up-to-date comment on the Meredith Kerschner case which is worth looking at - same screwed up Perugian investigator. The research is very convincing and full of common sense.

  • This is the true story of the monster of Florence

  • this is bullshit, pacciani, vanni e were the material executors of the murders and lotti was a implicated (it is prooved beyon dubt), the mastermind(s) are still unknow, the rest is bullshit this guy does'nt know anythig about nothing.

  • Really? Which guy? Have you read the book? It contains a very coherent and compelling argument instead of a ridiculous conspiracy theory. Read Voodoo Histories if you're not sure what they are...

  • @pcgt52 i did,nt look for justice on books but in courts and if you read about the trials you will see that pacciani, lotti and vanni where guily beyond doubt. the rest is bullshit.

  • This is the false story on the monster of florence.

  • Much credit to Preston and Spezi for trying to uncover this great mystery! What a fascinating case. As readers and viewers, one thing we all seem to agree on is that the Italian officials cannot agree on much. Too many conspirators from cheif inspector Guittari to Gabriella Carlizzi. Antonio Vinci needs to be examined more closely. Interestly enough, I lived in Florence in 2001 and had not heard of the Monster case once. Perhaps that is because I arrived 8 days before September 11th.

  • I love Italy but its government is so corrupt from Berlusconi down to local prosecutors. Berlusconi, with his Mafia ties, has been Prime Minister not once but twice. The psycho in question is also probably a member of the mob, which is why he knows that he can do whatever he wants.

  • I make no excuses for murderous idiots such as Bush & Co., but their tentacles don't include protection of local sociopaths the way that the Mob does. They don't impact daily life on a local level the way that the Mob does.

  • Florence is a masonic city, the feast day is Johns day

24th June, same day in 1717 that the grand lodge in London was founded. The cities symbol known locally as a "Giglio" looks very much like a Fleur du Lys, is said to represent the trinity, but which trinity. Many of Garibaldi's fairy tale 1000 came from florence and Tuscany, Florence firmly embraced fascism and then straight after the end of WW2 became communist. You should have asked Licio Gelli who the monster was !!

  • just started the book;

    whooooo, don't know how

I missed this! thanks for posting!

  • Mario Spezi knows the truth.

  • maybe you have right..maybe..

the real monster of florence is today alive...and live in florence too.

and many people knows who he is.

    greetings from Florence...

  • the book on a warm summer day will chill your blood

  • I have always been a true crime buff and I am surprised that I have never heard of this case!

  • Thank you for posting this!!!!!!!

  • i just finished this book after finding it on a lending bookshelf in Huatulco, Mexico .

crazy bizarre , indeed . it's amazing how truly unjust this law and legal system was/is .

this story is not over , in the slightest . stay turned .

  • florence cry about the victim of monster...

  • what is the music used in this video?

  • The Monster Of Florence was big news in the 80s. The main suspect, Pacciani, used to sexually abuse his wife & daughters & had been jailed for murder. He died in prison later. Allegedly he committed the murders of young couples petting in their cars, with some other local weirdos round Florence's outskirts, for a satanic sect. There's a good documentary about it on YouTube, from the Blu Notte series, but it's in Italian. I agree with Myshiba about the incopetence & inefficiency of Italian courts

  • Pacciani died at home after he was acquitted of all charges.

Eventually the supreme court (cassazione) cancelled this sentence but Pacciani died while waiting for the new process. Over and over and over... One thing for sure. He had nothing to do with the case of the monster: the monster is still living...

  • You're absolutely right. Of course, I never said Pacciani was guilty; I used the word 'allegedly'. Excerpts from the trial are on YT, & they're hilarious (if you understand Italian). Thanks for the update.

  • yes but pacciani was monster himself......many times beating and sexually abusing his daughter. He spent time in jail for knifing people too.......my wife went to school with his daughter when in primary school...I've met her a couple of times and she is just not right the poor soul. Pacciani was a monster so doesn't matter......I live 50 yeards from pacciani's place and have been for nearly 14 years..I know people talk here.....its not the "poor people" of the villages but somebody much hire up

  • The Monster of Florence's murders remind me of the Zodiac Killer's, as well as Jack the Ripper's.

  • what a joke the italiam police and government appear to be! very sad indeed!

  • The Italian law enforcement agencies actively inhibited the investigation by refusing to question the lone person most likely to be the serial killer; the Italian police investigators ought to be charged with aiding the murderer after the fact.
