@somekidschannel2423 Apparently you do it during live shows, so that you don't confuse the microphones when you're up on stage. Some people do it for the way it looks, and depending on what type of mic you have, if you bind the lead with tape, it lets you swing it without damaging it. Dylan swung his mic during every show, so that probably explains it :P

I had a show last month that we used some other bands mics and they didn't have them taped, and I ran my hand down it, and it came unplugged. So yeah. :)
