  • Very interesting.

  • I am at quite the quandary, I keep reading the BOM, stop reading and disregarding it, picking it back up again, denying the doctrine, I feel the same way Joseph Smith felt when he had is so called "vision" to ask what Church was the right one. I am still not sure about the whole Mormon thing, but I will keep trying, maybe one day it'll come to me.

  • @Xmetalearth just pray bro. =)

  • Despite sweltering heat, dozens of youth, wearing their distinctive, yellow "Mormon Helping Hands" vests, repaired the fence along Bakerton Road, while others, less conspicuous perhaps, tended to the cleanup of trail waysides, sign maintenance and trash pickup.

  • "It's really hard to finds dresses that are really cute that are modest," said Mikayla Gogan, one of the ninth grade students in Guy Johnson's Willowcreek Middle School LDS Seminary class. "I've had this problem. It's really hard and even when you think you found something that will work with a white or black undershirt and leggings, you can still get kicked out of a stake dance."

  • It usually requires marathon shopping with a critical eye to find something to purchase and even then, the outfit usually requires adding something underneath or atop.

  • "These are physical reminders of the past," President Packer said in an interview with the Church News. "Some people might see such items as trivial objects, but they are treasures for the Church History Department and museum. Items of this kind make us feel a little closer to those leaders in the past."

  • Acceptance. By accepting the gift of the Atonement, individuals recognize the sacrifice of Heavenly Father and Christ, bringing purpose to the Atonement.

  • Elder Lund gave four suggestions of how individuals can give offerings:

Acknowledgment. "How quick is mankind to blame God for the natural disasters and suffering you find in the world, but how slow to acknowledge His hand in the goodness of life," he said. Proper acknowledgment shows thoughtfulness and recognizes the goodness of God.

  • You can't take a work of fiction and say that it took place in real world geography. It makes no sense, unless there is a disclaimer such as that found in all fictional works.

  • @edbarneyjr

    fictional works?

  • Why didn't they ask God?

  • President Scott N. Conlin of the New Orleans Louisiana Stake recommended to the Brethren that the New Orleans 1st Branch was ready to become a ward again. On Dec. 6, 2009, President Conlin's recommendation became a reality.

  • Brother Richardson added, "The Old Testament is great at comparing and contrasting. It will show us an example of an individual who is living a disciple's life, and it will show in comparison someone who's life is running amok. The Old Testament gives a nice overview of what man is at his best moments and, sometimes, at his worst moments.

  • "The Old Testament is inside us," Brother Osguthorpe said. "We are acquainted with Jonah, with Job. We know the stories. We know what the Creation is about. Is it hard to understand the Exodus and the captivity of the people? Those are things the Old Testament is powerfully teaching to us."

  • Its the same rhetoric that the Jews presented Jesus while he was alive and not even THEY believed in him. I'm willing to submit that if every one here were to prove it for themselves whether or not that the BOM is of god, they would have to first bring themselves into harmony with God's teachings before they try to make everything fit their own interpretation of what that is. We must agree with God and not the other way around. Treat the BOM as a gift from god even if at first only in play.

  • Truman Madsen will be missed!

  • The book of mormon is thee most blasphemous book ever, go hail your prophet of satan joseph smith

  • Have you ever read it, Crusader?

  • There shouldn't be any "evidence" of the Book of Mormon in the Middle East... The events told about in the Book of Mormon did not occur there. Also, Jerusalem was destroyed after Lehi and his family left Jerusalem. Even if you don't believe Lehi and his family exists, we are told in the Bible that Jerusalem was destroyed.

There is quite a bit of evidence of the Book of Mormon in Central America, where the events of the Book of Mormon are believed to have occurred.

  • The Mormon church has spent a lot of money trying to prove this..very desperately. Besides, it has already been disproven that Native Americans are not descended from Ancient Jews.

  • Ha, laughable. With what evidence? The church hasn't spent any more money on study of the Book of Mormon than it has in biology and secular education. So what's desperate about it?

  • "Your mormon Jesus is not the same as the real biblical one. "

    My reply:

What you really mean is...."YOUR" jesus is not the same jesus of the bible as it is part of a three-headed blob who has to be described by the analogy of either a triangle, water in its three phases or an egg...lol..show me where in the bible Christ used the same analogies please...ROFL!!!

There is much viable evidence that points to the book of Mormon as plausible. please don't make this mistake.

  • If a person does not believe in the Book of Mormon, does that make them a rabid Mormon hater?

  • Nope- thank goodness. That'd make life really hard for all of us. I think the problem is that people often misunderstand because there's so much out there screaming at anyone who wants to honestly learn about the subject. Sad huh?

  • The words "evidence" and the "Book of Mormon" should never collide in the same sentence unless used as a punchline or stated without the words "lack of" being present. There IS no evidence that supports the legitimacy of the Book of Mormon...at all. Not one single solitary scrap. Anywhere. Least of all the Middle East.

  • Ummm... not a scrap? The videos you are commenting on right here are full of it. Or have you not noticed?

  • Great video! Thanks for posting it. I really love this video they produced. Very enlightening and informative.

  • Oliver Cowdery, Witness to the Book of Mormon

I wrote with my own pen . . . as [Joseph] translated [the Book of Mormon] by the gift and power of God, by means of the Urim and Thummim, or, as it is called by the book, "holy interpreters." I beheld with my eyes, and handled with my hands, the gold plates from which it was translated. I also saw with my eyes and handled with my hands the "holy interpreters." The book is true. . . . It contains principles of salvation.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • With all of the negative videos about Book of Mormon archeological and historical studies and research, it is good to have videos like this on YouTube.

    Thanks for posting.

  • go buy the dvd asap!!! the entire thing is amazing.. sooo many cool truths. there are two dvds in fact.

  • Great video, thank you

  • thank you for adding these videos to Youtube, very interesting.

  • man i so hope i get into BYU

i want to do something in the field with anthropology or archaeology and aplly it to the studies and uncoverings of the book of mormon

    its just awesome

  • Question: do you think you will be able to find evidence of the Book of Mormon when no other archeologist has? Goodness sakes, we have museums overflowing with dinosaur skeletons. But not one single solitary piece of evidence from the Book of Mormon.

Good luck in your search. If you never find anything, will you just say 'god took it all to heaven' or 'god will bring it to light when it's time' or some other equally ridiculous answer?

  • ......is that a serious question?....

  • Interesting material again.

  • I agree. I would love to follow the steps of Lehi, well, that is until the empty quarter, I may have to hop on a plane for that one.

  • You are a good man for posting this. Please post all the segments from this DVD!

  • I wish I could. Copyright issues get in the way. But I've been speaking with them and there is a *possibility* that we can post it.

  • I want to go to Jerusalem so bad.
