  • sounds like a story of aa sponsorship haha! badass song! by self forgetting one finds

  • Great stuff. Thanks for posting. 5 stars

  • Sounds like Paul Rogers free :-)

  • Good god no he does not.

  • everyone has their own opinion, thanks for reading mine peace person :-)

  • Hey, Davy plays a variety of guitars and styles, like -- dare I say it? -- Rory Gallagher.

Davy has always cited Rory as one of his primary influences.

  • What a phenomenal talent!!!

  • I would say the scarf is more of a nod to greats like Peter Green, Brian Jones and early Clapton not so much emo at all.

Carnaby Street sold a ton in the late 60's.

Chelsea boots are still the epitome of cool rocker foot gear...besides when you are as good as Davey you can wear a beanie hat with a propeller and shorts with suspenders.

  • Hendrix wore scarves too, more flamboyant though. When I first saw this I thought Hendrix, not emo.

  • Yeh, but he couldn't play in tune.

I saw another guitarist the other day and he was wearing trousers and I thought hell Hendrix did that..do something original.

  • i just saw him on live tv, played perfectly in tune. And whats this about trousers? Thats stupid dude.

  • yeah so did i ...i thought he was brill!

  • perhaps his neck was a little chilly

  • He is such a rare talent. But who the hell is dressing him like an emo kid?

  • He looks nothing like an emo kid. :S

  • i've never seen upstrokes liek that before.. nutz, i love this song i sing it everyday! this guy is gonna be huge!!!!!

  • Anybody know why backdoor slam broke up?

  • what do you think? Savant guitar player and singer and a bunch of local highschool friends trying to keep up to the likes of Buddy Guy and Jeff Beck...

    I wonder what happened.

I wonder what happend to the rest of Back Door Slam.

  • Actually he's in open D chord tuning (D A D F# A D). And, does anyone have the lyrics for this song?

  • do you have a link for the tabs?

  • There are no tabs for it, so I learned it by ear.

  • What tuning is this in? And in response to the last post, it's youtube. the vocals are much more prevalent on the album.

  • He is in D standerd.

  • open D actually

  • wouldnt the be the same or do u mean drop d?

  • D standard would be every string in standard down a note. D open is DADF#AD. Drop D is just standard with the first string tuned down to D.

  • The intro isn't abrasive, just probably different than what you're familiar with. It's a throwback to old blues guitar like Robert Johnson. That kind of intro was very common, and is still used a lot today by artists who have been influenced by the blues artists of the 20's and 30's. Clapton does similar intros, as does Keb' Mo' and many others.

  • Thx, but the Song is Wonderful, the volume is back to normal now, so I can turn it way up again. Was it a glitch, or site maint? The abrasive part is the first 8 seconds of the video, not the song. That screeching organ curbs my enthusiasm. I heard it about 7-8 times one day, and I think it bruised my soul! Keb'Mo is in my Fav's as well as this song.

  • great

  • he puts so much soul in his songs

  • Davy's writing ability matches his wonderful playing perfectly. And a nicer person you could not meet. I think that comes out in this short clip.

    Roy

  • I'll be getting this album!
