This is how Eric died.. Nguyen died in Arlington, Texas on September 9, 2007 as a result of injuries sustained during a suicide attempt on August 31, 2007. Nguyen had suffered a sudden relapse of a mental illness and experienced severe negative reactions to anti-depressant medication. go to wikipedia or look it up...

Wow!...I just didn`t know he had passed away, I missed his photos these last years though. They were just beautiful. Don't be sad, he left a legacy back here and I wish he's still chasing on...with the song stormbringer in the background. I pay a silent tribute to this man.

you chased with Nguyen????? my respects it was HIS photos that prompted me to get into storm photography . I now have one of the larger collections on the web of southwestern Ontario storm pics, without his pics I'd probably never have gotten back into chasing

Eric attempted to take his own life. After being in a coma for a week, he unfortunately passed away do to severe brain damage.
Very sad...
His severe weather photography was incredible.

Hey! I'm from Germany and I really admired Eric Nyguyens work. His pictures were simply wonderful and as I heard from his death more than a year ago, I was shoked. I'm feeling for his family and friends. But though he passed away, the admiration people have for him hasn't died. And I think it won't.

It has been years since I have been down to Oklahoma and regret to say that I have not talked with Eric in just as long. But I do remember when I was down there, he did not look upon me differently even though I was a different type of college student. He always treated others with kindness and understanding. I was stunned to learn recently about his passing. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I am sorry for their tragic loss.
