Its been so long since i've seen a real hmong dance and you gurls brought what it should be back. The hand movements, tempo, and expressing the song with movements are very good. Very pleasing to see traditional hmong dancing hasnt been lost. dont get me wrong, i mean other groups were good too but i dont recall hmong dancing having back flips and splits like a cheerleading squad or circus show. lol no offense.

Props to NHPS for doing something different--ie. dancing to a slower beat and making it look good. Too many groups over doing it these days w/ excessive shaking. For the haters saying they only placed because they danced to a GVP song, its called "creativity"... From a dancers perspective this is by far one of the most amazing dances I've ever come across for a Hmong group. Yes, I admit they were a little off with counts, but overall the technical difficulty with the movements were magnificent and unique. They chose a great song and the dance just flowed ever so great with the music. This dance should be the true representation of what Hmong dance is. I'm so happy to have come across this video. Good job my Hmong sisters! I'm so happy to have watched!

I think this dance really shows just not how good and creative nhps is but it also shows that they have companionship, feelings, they know and respect their culture/dancing. I have always preferred more slower and traditional dances over fast and flip flopping dances, and by far this has got to be one of the most exquisitely performed ART that I have witness.
