  • I don't think the extra hassle and resource hogging is worth it, it doesn't look that good in my opinion, the only thing I use is Switcher and it's GREAT, the rest just seems like it's too much. I mean, if you use your PC mostly to goof around it's okay, but apart from that, definitely too much

  • M$ WIND0ZE couldnt properly emulate compiz like linux can.. all you will get is a stable desktop for a good week or so then it will either impact on system performance, get tons of EXPLORER.EXE crashes and freezes, or most likely both.. what i wanna know is how the hell did u make a flash background wallpaper? thats very neat i havent seen that before

  • Good vid, lame music

  • What is your config of Nami?

  • @TeruMikami2345 Started this video in full screen (come from related vid), saw this effects, got idea to wrote comment, I see you posted the same already. Ah shit XD

  • @djplayer93 lol, i came to this from looking at linux videos

  • @TeruMikami2345 No, Compiz is a window manager that gives you an integrated solution for desktop and window effects. If someone were to add the "wobble" effect presented here in compiz and combine it with some transparency, you would still get *actual* transparency, opposed to the "fake" preserved transparency you get here (see 0:32) which makes the animation freeze in the transparent areas (the background stops updating).

  • @TeruMikami2345 not as good as compiz though :P

  • Ахуенно спасибо )

  • I could spend your wallpaper?

  • @Opadome I was going to say fair enough, but you kept on ranting. I know Windows has OpenGL but what I am saying is why does Ubuntu need DirectX if it has OpenGL? Sure OpenGL may be harder to program for, but it is a hell of a lot faster, especially if your GPU is built for OpenGL. GIMP is not as good as comparison to Photoshop however GIMP it's free, and if you want to run Photoshop, you can run it through Wine. I have not seen a good Ubuntu theme for Windows but for Ubuntu I have seen win2-7.

  • really sexy!!

  • The only reason for why Ubuntu and all other of these operating systems like Mint, Kubuntu, Elementary OS Jupiter and all other of these free operating systems are only famous cause they are free which is a good thing. But you can't actually buy a PC without Windows on it, so i don't really see why people are downloading Ubuntu since Windows has a lot more features.

  • @Opadome Give me one feature Windows has that Linux doesn't or can't have. Then we will talk about which operating system has more features.

  • @kurtbruneau DirectX 11. Over 300 million downloadable softwares. More customization. More web browsers. Games. Photoshop. YouTube without lagging in full screen and much more. Tell me what Ubuntu has that Windows doesn't :)

  • @Opadome You obviously don't know what a feature is... Software itself is not a feature, the functions they perform are the features.

Sure Linux may not have DirextX 11, but it does have OpenGL which has just as many features as DirectX. Probably even more. Also, you know that new "tessellation" thing Microsoft keeps bragging about? OpenGL has had that for years.

Linux also has over 300 million downloadable applications, and don't even begin to say that Windows is more customizable... cont...

  • @Opadome ... and has more browsers than Linux. You don't even need third party applications to completely change the look of Linux and in Windows you can't even remove IE without serious problems. If you still beleive Windows is more customizable and has more browsers than Linux, give me proof.

Games work better and faster on Linux then they do on Windows. Just because there are more games for Windows doesn't mean Linux can't run them better. I've even seen a lot of games run faster... cont...

  • @Opadome ... in Wine than natively in Windows including a few games like World of Warcraft and Activeworlds.

As for Photoshop, you can you use GIMP which has most of photoshop's features, however if you are like me and want the full blown photoshop you can just run it through Wine.

As for your problems with youtube, you either didn't get the proper graphic drivers for your GPU or the manufacturer of your graphics card sucks at making proper drivers.

  • @kurtbruneau But i have to say that you are acting like a Ubuntu fanboy teenager kid and i hate those kinds of people. Windows has OpenGL as well and Gimp is shit compared to Photoshop. And Windows has more customization with Visual Styles. You can make Windows look exactly like Ubuntu, but can you make Ubuntu look exactly like Windows 7? No. And Ubuntu has far from 300 million softwares available. There is only 12 million Ubuntu users so how can there be over 300 million developers?

  • @Opadome hahaha.. Dude, as I read your comments, made me think you are such a f.ucking noob. more customization with visual styles than ubuntu? .. You talk as if you know both OS. but YOU DONT. so Shut D Fck Up!!!

  • @blakecharmjhoc Go to deviantart, Customization, Skins and themes, Windows 7 utilities, Visual Styles 7 and type in Ubuntu. You can make Windows look exactly like Ubuntu, but you can't make ubuntu look like Windows so stfu gaykid. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. You're a homo that don't know how to use a PC, you're just a faggit.

  • @Opadome looool.. fool.. you just said it your self.. go to deviantart? <<<< its a third party site.. :D idiot ? .. :D bwahahah.. as I said noob, in windows, you need to go somewhere else to achieve something else, :D .. and that's what your boasting about your windows.. :D .. fool.. and I am the one who dont know PC ? .. :D hahahah.. lame

  • @blakecharmjhoc Vaya, sos un hacker.

Imbécil, ¿Nunca te callas?, que fastidioso te tornas, y eso que los comentarios no eran conmigo... lamer de mierda.

  • @blakecharmjhoc Grow up, lol.

  • @kurtbruneau And don't say my graphics card sucks, it's running Crysis 2 with DirectX 11 Patch and everything maxed out with 60 fps. There was actually a driver available on Ubuntu for my graphic card, but after downloading it i couldn't use Ubuntu. Great driver huh? nice done Ubuntu. So just stfu. Why are you even watching this video? It's about Windows 7. What is a Ubuntu fanboy like you doing here?

  • @Opadome And yes Linux has over 300 million applications. The operating system is 20 years old, has an uncountable amount of different distributions and can be found almost everywhere from webservers to the satellites orbiting our planet. There may be only be a small amount of Ubuntu developers in comparison, however Ubuntu creates the operating system, not every application that runs for it.

As I said previously, the manufacturer of your GPU probably sucks at making proper drivers, not Ubuntu.

  • @Opadome dude.. you just don't know how to use the driver after downloading. Its your problem not knowing how to make it work. A simple question to the ubuntu community is always helpful.

  • @Opadome For the list of features Ubuntu has that Windows doesn't; A Software Centre, Compiz which allows Wobbly Windows and the Desktop Cube, A huge amount of customability including the ability to change your entire desktop environment. Most peripherals including USB Drives, Printers, Keyboards, Mice, etc... function as soon as you plug them in, one update manager for all apps, and if you ever need to run a Windows application you can use Wine or even Crossover (if you want the most stability)

  • @kurtbruneau Look, im not trying to start a fight and i'm not a fanboy, i have both Windows 7 and Ubuntu installed. But Wine is buggy and really slow and it doesn't work with all games i have tested it out. Also my computer is overheating when i'm using ubuntu, even if im not doing anything on there, i was watching a video and my pc reached 95 C and shut down. I can run Crysis 2 without overheating on Windows. Also, Desktop Cube is available for Windows too, so Windows is the best OS for me.

  • that nimi website doesnot work

  • el fondo es de los themes de dreamscenes, pero lo tienes que descargar y aplicar.

  • no ma esta perooncisimo eso es lo que estaba buskando!!! :D

  • does it work in windows vista ?

  • @sasukerules01 You do realize that most super computers run linux, most servers run linux and not to mention...the nice little Android phone you have in your pocket is also a watered down linux. Also, you game on Windows because nobody bloody makes games for Linux. That is logical because Windows' monopoly gets a ton of more potential customers. Use your head.

  • you can pass me the image of metioritos?

  • To those saying Ubuntu is always better, I installed Ubuntu on my laptop (dual boot with Windows 7), and watched my performance get cut down by approximately 1/3. Then I noticed that it didn't integrate properly with my mouse or my monitor (drivers were all installed), often forcing me to restart my computer. Deleting that partition from my drive was the best thing I've ever done for my PC. Not saying Windows is always better, but sometimes, Ubuntu simply doesn't work where Windows does.

  • @3E8mps I've had issues with Ubuntu 10.01 I believe... the one before the new one 11.04. But every other ubuntu before the 10.01 worked fine, and I enjoyed using and playing around with it. I'm about to install 11.04 on my netbook and see how well it is!

  • @3E8mps the main reason alot of drivers do not work properly is because they dont support the ubuntu or linux os a little more because ubuntu is free and open source

  • @3E8mps you're doing it wrong

  • @3E8mps How the crap can you fail that much?

  • @foxyd3 That's what I kept asking the Ubuntu forums.

  • @3E8mps I'm afraid your issues seem like you just have really crappy hardware. lol You sir, fail.

  • @foxyd3 My hardware may be crappy (according to some), but that's (what should be) the beauty of writing software: it should work on a wide variety of hardware. Ubuntu simply doesn't work on my hardware. Windows does. That says something about the competency of Windows software. Again, I'm not trying to say Windows is always better; it's just that they do have the advantage of being compatible across a wider variety of hardware systems.

  • @3E8mps I meant "crappy" as in "nobody ever uses the hardware because it is so crappy"

Linux in general can actually support more hardware than Windows out of the box. I'm not trying to offend you or anything, I'm just saying that somewhere, well, you went wrong. What models were the mouse and monitor anyways? Monitor support shouldnt be an issue at all, unless the monitor was purposed as a tv.

  • @foxyd3 My computer is a Toshiba, bought in 2007. It's a laptop, so it's actually a touchpad that it doesn't like. It works, but...idk...it's hard to describe the things it makes the mouse do. The monitor works but doesn't turn back on if the computer goes to sleep. Oh, and I forgot to mention that after a while I couldn't connect to the internet while running Ubuntu, Ethernet or wireless. In all actuality, my hardware is really not bad / old. Either way, I've long ago removed Ubuntu.

  • @3E8mps There ya go: it is a Toshiba. That is your problem....I thought it was well known that Toshiba laptops do not mix well at all with with anything but windows?

  • @foxyd3 And...we're back to the whole "compatible across a wide variety of systems" issue. My point exactly! We are finally in agreement. Well, maybe besides the fact that you blame Toshiba and I blame Ubuntu developers. Either way, summing it up, Ubuntu didn't exactly brighten my day.

On a side note, allow me to quote a few things:

    "lol You sir, fail."

"I'm not trying to offend you or anything"

To be 100% honest, I have no hard feelings. I just had to mention it because it made me laugh.

  • @3E8mps if you deleted the partition that easily, you obviously used the windows installer (Wubi) and have no idea what your doing when it comes to this. if you read, it clearly states when using wubu, you lose alot of performance. don't be a dick.

    Download Ubuntu

    Burn it to a CD/DVD

    BOOT UP FROM IT.

Windows is okay for Gaming, Ubuntu Wins everything else with its opensource features.

and yea, Compiz rapes this, but i haven't seen anything else like this stuff for windows,, so, not bad.

  • @sudonick95 Please stop assuming bad things about me. I most definitely burned Ubuntu to a DVD and booted / installed from it. Wubi was not involved. Actually, now that I remember, I did indeed try out Ubuntu years ago using the windows installer, and yes, it was rather lame, which was why I did the full DVD install.

  • @3E8mps Or you're just noob...

  • @3E8mps Windows is also better at getting VIRUSES than Linux . LOL

  • @maw88ify I'd have to agree with you there. Fortunately, there are a host of free antivirus programs out there, but yes, Windows' susceptibility to viruses is one of its downsides, especially in XP. 7's a better attempt.

  • @3E8mps It's guaranteed because you were new to ubuntu that these things happened to you. Let's see me for example. I dual boot between Win 7 and Ubuntu now. My performance rate increased by over 20%. My Mouse and Keyboard works fine (even the progtrams alloying me to use macroes and my "G Keys" works fine. And my monitor works just like it always have done. But anyway i have some pretty cool effects now on my ubuntu system, that i would properly get 10 virusses on windows 7 to get.

  • @3E8mps You are just to silly to use ubuntu thats the point...

  • @3E8mps Here I installed mint and my performance went up 10 times. I get to desktop 10 times faster. I have also noticed that drivers windows xp did not recognize got recognized properly by mint. Mint simply works where Windows does not. Here's my opinion.

  • @enderwiggin30 Windows XP is outdated so thats probably why, Windows 7 is a lot better. For me Windows are the king of the operating systems and has always been since over 90% of all computers are running Windows, and i've used it since i was a kid. Windows 98 was my first operating system. I tried Ubuntu 11.04, and all these "Kubuntu, Mint, Elementary OS Jupiter" - all the Ubuntu based OS' is faster because there is not that much to load as Windows has.

  • @3E8mps lol. I used both. Windows OS and Linux Distros. Maybe you are just not familiar with proprietary drivers that made you think Ubuntu cut down laptop performance to 1/3. U don't know what your talking dude. "ubuntu does not work where windows does." ?? lol. In which part? the million viruses that windows is capable of? ..

  • @blakecharmjhoc Million viruses? Just cause your a pervert bitch looking for porn on Windows and getting Popups and Viruses? I never got virus on my Windows and i have used Windows for about 14 years. Just get a free antivirus software fucking fool. You don't know anything about PC's, gaykid.

  • @Opadome idiot.. LINUX does not need anti virus.. :D lol..noob cry baby.. FYI , on windows u can block known sites by HOST file pendejo! lol I bet u don't know that too..and ohh, Linux distros can stand on itself.. on money cruncher windows you have to buy, or download something not affiliated to them.. :D .. can you noobly tell the difference? ..

  • Boo you suck you only run Windows 7 RC shit you I run the full version if you have that thing still, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you.

  • @thomas45player4 unless the icons are changed with picture images?

  • whr did u get the asteroid live wallpaper?

  • @proudesi 1st you need to get "dreamscene" and i got my asteroids via a torrent, just have a google about.

  • @bripbrap thanks dude
