OK, you DON'T sound stupid at all! On the contrary, however, you sound incredibly intellegent, speak beautifully and sing magnificently in your comfortable little 'singing around the house' voice (especially since English wasn't your first language). I gather you're Dutch, and I guarantee your English is dramatically better than my Dutch!
