  • 'This is the Day, This is the Hour' was their crowning achievement. I listen to anything these lads do, but it's a tall order to top that album.

  • I always loved PWEI. BTW, the song at the end is Underbelly.

  • will always be the fuckin coolest!!!!

  • The guitarist Rich is my teacher at college, he is one cool guy!

  • wow... i used to watch the Jon Stewart show after getting home from work at the Pizza Wheel back in the 90's, and i LOVE PWEI! i actually had a recording of this on VHS along with the Marilyn Manson episode, but it got dubbed over. :(

thanks for rekindling a lot of great memories!

  • For someone who speaks Spanish, he sure is terrible at it. He should stick to what he knows best- MTV and Twinkies. Hahaha... I kid, I kid.

  • the song is RSVP then,, underbelly down...."

  • the song is RSVP not underbelly down...."DOH"

  • awwww, that lovable fat idiot, Jerry... :)

"Dos Dedos, Mis Amigos" actually means "Two Fingers, my friends..."

but thanks for trying... it's more than most do...

it's amazing how different Clint looks from show to show...

  • I'd like to take a moment here and give a big "Thank you!" to A. J. Torres for introducing me to this group a long time ago thanks buddy!

Also thanks for Uploading this Futureboy3 - and now I am going give Firehose a listen.

  • whats that guitar?

  • Wow, what a fun live band they looked like.

  • Jon Stewart used to bear an uncanny resemblance to Dick Clark.

  • Thanks dude, they were f*cking tight. I loved that album.

I've never seen The Jon Stewart Show before either, interesting.

  • Dick Clark had something to do with the Jon Stewart show? Really? I don't know about this title ....

  • Jon Stewert seems to never age... now i know

  • Kevin and Perry ?

  • he stole my grannie's sunglasses

  • I never heard of these guys, but that was dope. I used to listen to some industrial bands around this period. This reminds me of that, except these guys are more rock and roll (which is good).

  • hola this is American band stand !

  • Such rare and fucking AWESOME SHIT!!! ...that America kept secret till now!!!!....I blame you Jon Stewert!!!!.....such an evil conniving, hording Jew.....so evil.....just look at his Satanic choice of hairstyle and facial hair.........Such a Satanic Jew...... makes Satan look less Jewish. Hello, my name is Jacob and I live in Australia. I am not Jewish, just as a fun fact. If I had know Satan was, then i would have converted! Oi! (Aussie, Aussie, Aussie etc....) ;P

  • anyone know when their next US gig is? seen em three times...never enough!!!

  • Saw these guys at the Toledo Sports Arena. They opened for NiN. I was blown away the energy they created and their performance was amazing. Loved em since.

  • what the song? at 4:36

  • @ArtDavidAlternative

UNDERBELLY also on the same album Dos Dedos Mis Amigos they were promoting.

  • @Futureboy3 Can I ask you: The album Dos Dedos Mis Amigos was a promotional compilation with numerous or at least several artists? Also, is this not "The Jon Stewart Show", before "The Daily Show" even existed? If this all is not correct, in what way(s)?

  • @YaWantTaters No, Dos Dedos Mis Amigos was an album by Pop Will Eat Itself released on Nothing/Interscope - I'd say it's the best PWEI but others like different stuff. An amazing industrial album either way.

  • @YaWantTaters No, Dos Dedos Mis Amigos was an album by Pop Will Eat Itself released on Nothing/Interscope - I'd say it's the best PWEI but others like different stuff. An amazing industrial album either way. Jon Stewart Show was his show on MTV when they actually showed music and promoted bands.

  • @Futureboy3 The song is RSVP, not Underbelly.

  • Wow my official introduction to PWEI.

They will be doing some gigs in America in 2010!

This was when Jon Stewart was good...

  • So funny how much Clint has changed and Graham hasn't changed a bit lol. Great vid...miss PWEI so much.

  • I think the responses from our American "friends" show why the PWEI never caught on in the USA... over there you have to fit into some kind of pigeon hole stereotype...... the Poppies are crap... on and on.

  • @NIKFANTASTIC agreed, PWEI were underrated in my neck of the hoods too. Lost among the raves and the rappers... but they did get the North-American nods, believe that. Just not nearly as much as they should've.

  • @KRAMRENKA

    nice language,

Either your to youg, too dumb, or maybe both but this is taken from the "Jon Stewert Show" Back in the 90's NOT the daily show DUMMY. if you would have read ANY of the previous posts you wouldn't have looked so stupid posting that!

    LOSER

  • @Futureboy3 I don't think Dick Clark was announcing on the Jon Stewart Show in 1995.

  • @KRAMRENKA You need to watch to the end of the song...you know, when Jon Stewart himself comes out on stage...

  • @KRAMRENKA Are You F****** Blind?!

  • @KRAMRENKA so the guy at 4:25 on the stage is who??? his evil twin brother??? dick.

  • Feel bad for PWIE

  • @KRAMRENKA

Actually you must be REALLY stupid as it says exactly where it was taken from in the description of the video.

KRAMRENKA- "Hu Hu I'm So stupid I will point out something that is entierly untrue that I have ZERO knowledge of tto make myself look cool, Cuz I'm such a loser "

  • should hear touched by the hand of cicciolina doing nitrous. really.

  • its any more doitshland, yea dick clark obviously doesnt care to learn spanish and he seems kinda wasted, great song kinda livens up towards the end thanks for post

  • "Sample It, Loop It, Fuck It, Eat It"

  • They're not industrial. They're Grebo. That's even what they call themselves: Grebo Gurus. That's even the name of one of their songs: Grebo Guru.

  • Grebo is a british slang word. It doesn't mean anything to someone who's not british.

  • Bollocks.

  • And that's another very English word!

  • i love rsvp i got into pwei after hearing rsvp in the playstaion game loaded! long time ago now!

  • most rock music these days isn't even worth wasting the weed to get high while listening to the song.

    this song sounds great stoned.

  • the guitarist is my tutor in college Richard mARCH

  • @snakelalilulelo

    Really? Which college?

  • halesowen college near stourbridge hometown of PWEI in the west midlands ;) he's a very nice person and insanely inteligent

  • It's not even worth commenting on if you are arguing genres with PWEI.

  • I was at this tour in KC when they didn't show up. The Melvins showed up....

    Great night.

  • the reason for the industrial sound on this album is the fact that Trent Reznor produced it.. this ablum was on his lable, after chapter 22 records in the UK dropped them.. they "added" an industrial sound.. but to call them industrial would be incorrect..

  • Eh? No he didn't. While this was released on his label he had nothing to do with the production.

  • PWEI is indeed considered an industrial band among other genres as well. You people need to stfu for a minute and enjoy the music. Just because you've heard of Throbbing Gristle or Coil doesn't make you an expert on the subject.

  • I saw them on that tour when they opened for NIN back in '95. Clint Mansell is such a musical genious (obviously)!

  • Love the dude dressed in an Annie Lennoxish fashion

  • i never considered pwei industrial.Dick Clark a guest on jon stewart..lol..lame guest..

  • they aren't industrial. they are grebo. whoever said that is a turd.

  • P.S- To the person who put this video up..im guessing you are not from the U.S..but this is dick clark on american bandstand from the 80's and early 90's..this is before the jon stewart show..

  • Sorry ZaZa, but your wrong : )

This is the Jon stewert back when he had a Late night show, before he hosted the Daily show. I personally stayed up and taped this myself right here in the good U.S. of A.

Dick Clark was a guest that night.

  • don't forget about coil who reznor also had on the nothing label..i believe its coil who were the godfathers of industrial..they where doing it in 86..maybe even earlier..im not sure..oh and if you think the clothes of 90's were "ew" then you should of seen the 80's..lol..im glad i was only kid in those days..yeah reznor rapped a little bit too like PWEI..on "Down In It" off of pretty hate machine..

  • Throbbing Gristle was the original industrial band.

  • throbbing gristle with genesis P orridge. is the first industrial band. even KMFDM was before coil. they started i think in the early 80's.

  • Just look at one of the biggest bands in the world "The Prodigy" Liam said PWEI were innovators and then did the track there law with them.Love you poppies

  • estos vatos son otro pedo!

  • ew, look at how gross people dressed in the 90s. look at that audience! wow.

  • Seen these guys in Toledo they opened for NIN and blew the roof off the place, made me an instant fan.

  • to wcduke: Trent Reznor was not only a big supporter but a big fan of PWEI because PWEI was arguably one of the very first industrial bands. for all theyre rapping there's a lot of industrial in PWEIs stuff, and it isnt difficult to see similarities between them and nine inch nails. remember they only rapped for maybe like a third of their songs, the rest is either spoken word or plain singing

  • PWEI is not industrial at all, just because they use synth and were on nothing records doesn't make them industrial. Throbbing Gristle was the original, with bands like Cabaret Voltaire, Skinny Puppy and SPK in the begining. Wiki industrial music.

  • I'm not criticizing PWEI, but I'm confused. I have only heard 3 of their songs, and all of them were rap-metal fusion. Trent Reznor has said he hates that genre of music, so it is confusing to me that they were touring in support of his band. Does anyone have any insight into this?

  • well if he did actually say that he hates that stuff, then he's being a little hypocritical. not just bcuz he toured with them but also since his song "down in it" is borderline "rap-metal fusion". i'm not saying that as a slant against either artists btw, i like the both of them.

  • Oh, Trent definitely said it. You can probably watch it here on YouTube. I think it's in a video where he and MM are talking about Fred Durst/Limp Bizkit.

I don't know if I'd completely agree with your assessment of "Down In It", but I think Trent was also referring to the visual image and mentality of these rap-metal "singers", not just the songs themselves. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

  • that make a little more sense (visual image and mentality), I'll have to check those vids out.

  • actually, he signed them to his label, at least for u.s. distro. and he hates crap funky white boy new fusion. not old school punk electro industrial hip hop fusion, like chili peppers or faith no more. there is a distinction. lyrically, thematically, and substantively, it is worlds apart from hot dog flavored water or whatever.

  • I would agree with that, so there's no need to begin your comment with "actually", as if you are contradicting my earlier comment. Trent made a statement to that effect. If he feels that PWEI is not in that genre, cool.

  • Reznor was a big fan, and signed PWEI to nothing records to help rescue them after being dumped by RCA records. They were a well established act in the UK for years, but never really caught on in the US, and Reznor tried to remedy that.

This album (their last) was much harder than others, but to call it Rap/Metal is silly. They were usually lumped alongside acts like Carter USM and Jesus Jones. For that matter, the Rap/Metal genre barely existed then, if at all.

  • Sorry, but this song is rap-metal: Crunching guitars with real drums (and yes, a keyboard too, but it's hardly audible), along with the chanting/talking lyrics done by white dudes. Maybe PWEI isn't rap-metal overall, but this song definitely qualifies as such. Call it what you want, and I will too. To call me "silly" for doing such is arrogant and condescending. You don't get to define music for everyone.

    Cheers. :)

  • Rap-metal?? is that a genre at all. PWEI is "grebo"

  • What's sick is, I saw them on that tour when they opened for NIN and Bowie and I they didn't really make much of an impression on me. I was an idiot. This is good stuff.

  • Dick Clark is a tool

  • it doesnt mean the fingers of my friend, IT MEANS 2 FINGERS MY FRIENDS, AS IN THE PEACE SIGN

  • Actually its a brand of Tequilla, Dos Dedos. Google it! Ive drank the Tequilla.

  • I met Clint once...he said "It means this (flashes peace sign) if you like us, and this (flips hand for a British v-sign) if you don't.

  • does any body know about the PS1 game loaded? this the song you hear when your at the start menu!

  • I believe "Kick to Kill" was on that game as well.

  • Did I just see Dick Clark refer to Nine Inch Nails and somehow look cooler than the kids in the audience?!

  • just a little context here... dos dedos mis amigos is similar to saying "pour me a drink" or "drinks for the boys" i grew up in jersey and managed to see the poppies 8 or so times. once tried to trade with Richard for his PWEI football jersey...ah sweet times

  • good stuff. i saw them open for nin at the rosemont horizon in chicago back in the day

  • This is a great song... Damn mid 90s American tv show music manager who cant mix levels to save his life :(

  • Aaahhh! Nothing like as little Grebo...

  • Executive Producer is Jon Stewart, hmm.

    PWEI rulz

  • I remember they also performed this on the Jon Stewart Show (US MTV), but this obviously wasn't that.

  • Dick Clark, American Bandstand, yah dummy.

  • Damn, Jon Stewart got old!

  • this band's was ahead of its time

  • I have it but what does the album title translate to?

  • two fingers, my friends

  • always have been, in my opinion!

  • You hit the nail dead on the head!! Imagine if they were still together, they'd be putting all the new 'bands' to shame today!! an yea before someone says it im gunna beat ya to the punch.. vile evil...there great! but they not the poppies.

  • loserbabysowhydontyo

  • They nearly did get back together to record an album. Went tits up

  • hahaaaa! i was on this tour with them. must have been near the start as they are all pretty much on the money!!! hugs........

  • Pulam que nem pipocas!

  • This isn't Jon Stewart, thats Dick Clark , He looks the same age now as Dick Clark was then though. LOL

  • Dick was just a guest that night on the show.
