  • what i like about judo is that its more flexible that jjj , in that it doesnt have specific moves to be done against specific attacks (as far as i know from my experience) , and judo can be used more effectively to cross train.

  • Imagine axe kicking someone when they're down from uchi-mata

  • some of those exercises are actually used for escaping pins like kesa getame...They get it wrong sometimes in these series.

  • I`m a judoka myself but it`s still interisting to see where it came from

  • all matial arts from japan literally from samurai

  • Warm up inside a warm up? Warmception!!

  • in my Martial arts school we learn all this techniquies and by name too...its really nice to see them here.

  • @xnedox: no, actually you hit the inner leg to throw him not his balls ;)

  • @iLoveEmsx3 I bet you miss now and then?

  • @TheGroundedAviator You do at the beginning and continue to do it to someone you want to prank or hate

  • Uchi Mata = Auch in my balls :P

  • i feel bad for the guy who has to be the practice dummy for these guys and keeps getting tossed around

  • "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR JUDO"-REVOLVER OCELOT

  • @iParkour100 lol gotta love Ocelot

  • man i hate the guys from human weapon

the dudes from fight quest is much better

  • how come battle realms samurai didnt use judo?? if they use judo they might kill the master warlock fast hehehehe xD

  • @blackship14 I GET IT!

  • They always keep comparing other martial arts to BJJ and MMA. Yet, they do not realize that older jujutsu emphisizes standup techniques and jointlocks. I hate ignorance.

  • @teslic100 And what they fail to realize Traditional martial arts like kungfu, karate, real jujutsu, were developed and refined via warfare when it was fought hand to hand no guns. Japanese martial arts for example have 700 years of constant warfare. to develop very sophisticated fighting arts most of w/c are too dangerous to be used in the UFC.

  • are full guards, butterfly guards, arm triangels, d'arce, and such taught in judo? i'm trying to choose between judo and bjj for a martial art to train in

  • @yummyskater yes they are taught in judo my friend, but if you want the best bang for you buck look for places that offer both, because both martial arts are very similar and if you learn both you will see the similarities

  • @yummyskater no matter what u choose if u train and dedicate yourself youll do fine

  • @yummyskater it depends on the coach, mostly the subs in judo are much less than bjj and not near as much emphasis on newaza, the guard variations wont be found in judo to the extent of bjj either.Judo in my experience in europe and america has great throws obviously, strong top game on the ground, weak guard and reasonable subs.To a huge extent it ignores self defense totally except for the rare traditional club.

  • Ok PLEASE PLEASE A MESSAGE TO LITTLE CHILDREN. If you are learning judo and want to throw your friend then GET SOME FUCKING MATS!!! If you paralyze your friend ur probably gonna go to jail

  • I love cross training in Judo without it your gi game in BJJ isn't complete. Martial arts are all about balance and respect.

  • I find Judo more impressive than Jiu Jitsu. Jiu Jitsu is just simpler and therefore gives the practitioner an advantage over Judo.

  • judo owns jiu-jitsu. Fact

  • check out "Console Breakdown!" on the youtube search engine! Funny shit! :) RATE COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE!

  • judo is hard cuz on my first day, my body was acking really bad

  • Jason was getting owned, and then the camera went to record Bill. When the camera went back to record Jason, he was already escaping the Japanese guy. Was this staged? Fuck this show.

  • WOAH great quality!! O_______O i love you dude

  • How long does it take you to get black belt?

  • @korea7891 depends how good you are as you need to fight for a lot of your grades

  • bill always talks about his wrestling -.- .. im tired bout that!!!

  • that throw uchi mata looks so awesome!!!!!!

  • My friend went to do uchi mata on me and he mistimed it, so instead of throwing me over his hip he ended up kicking me in the groin :(

Uchi mata - now with more uchi.

  • @ManicParroT was ur vagina bruised afterwards

  • @ManicParroT but that helps in a street fight...wouldnt you agree XDXDXDXD?

  • xx rausexx1 is a fucking retard bjj was invented by carlos gracie like 72 years aka royce gracies father king of bjj your a fucking retard and judo came from jiu jitsu and bjj came from judo and fuckin judo has way deadlier submissions then bjj. judo is better cause they teach how to get the fucker and submitting them. bjj throws fucking suck but bjj is still awsome.

  • judo--there is no substitute.

  • is it me, or when i see alot of judokas they are mostly lefthanded? or is that just a better way to throw?

  • @f9hunter Fighting left handed versus right handed is somewhat of an advantage for the lefty. About half of international competitive judoka fight left handed, although many are natural righties.

  • @gregorde really? wtf. thats interesting

  • Comment removed

  • that laugh at 5:34 made me laugh lols, fuck that laugh was shifty

  • YO stop pinnin that guy poor japenese

  • im still a white belt, and i dont find the Uchi Mata difficult, its one of the most used throws i do and the Seoi Nage

  • w/e jiu jitsu and judo the best martial arts, grappling = control= ur opponent=control the fight

  • there are not many grappling martial arts compared to striking.i'd say judo and jiujitsu will be very popular in the future,if theres no new grappling art founded anymore.

  • No it didnt. Judo and Bjj both came from jujitsu.

  • @palamandre No they didn't. Judo came from JuJutsu - Mitsuyo Maeda, a judoka, developed BJJ.

  • Yes, Judo came from jj and bjj was developed by a judoka, wich tells us it all came from jj. Its so nice that we are in the clear : )

  • @palamandre Well not really... Judo is a very watered down version of traditional JuJutsu. Kano took out many of the techniques and simplified the sport. BJJ then came from those Judo techniques. Judo and JuJutsu are different sports. What you're saying would be like saying Rugby came from Soccer, and Football game from Rugby, so Football therefore came from Soccer. You can't ignore the middle step.

  • then where do the leglocks come from?

  • @alaricofarabia They were developed as part of BJJ. If a sport were exactly the same as its predecsor there wouldn't be much of a point would there? Just as Judo has certain techniques that are not found in JuJutsu, BJJ has certain techniques not found in Judo.

  • there are leglocks in judo its taught as a self defense part and most high level judoka know them , its just not used to competition like heel hooks in bjj .

same as other techniques in judo like spinal locks ,neck cranks spinal seperations its all there just not practised for competitions .

  • actually bjj came from Judo, and Judo came from Japanese Jiu jitsu.

  • @palamandre bjj came from judo

  • no it didn't judo came from bjj Judo is moslty only throws bjj is throws submissions and real self defence

  • @xXRauseXx1 dude are you retarded bjj came from judo don't be a retard

  • @xXRauseXx1 Please, please, just go and spend 5 minutes reading up on this stuff on Wikipedia before spouting your opinions.

  • @palamandre bjj only came from jujitsu by assossciation, judo was directly from jujitsu and bjj from judo.

  • @palamandre Gracies created bjj based on judo...

  • @findmeifyoucan

Yes. Maeda, a judoka, taught the Gracies Judo.

  • @findmeifyoucan Yep however there are no more tough gracies representing in todays current competition. What happened to them all? Who is the toughest Gracie now? Kyra Gracie?

  • @palamandre bjj came from judo, not jiujutsu. Only back then it was called kano ryu jujutsu

  • @palamandre and bjj came from judo.

  • @palamandre Judo came from Jujutsu, and BJJ is derived from Judo

  • @palamandre no, kano tokk the judo from the jujutsu, then a kano´s student went to brazil ant teached judo to the gracies

  • @palamandre yer there pretty bad with the backgrounds of martial arts. in their Taekwon-Do special they said that it originated in South Korea and it doesnt have many punches its mostly kicks. that is not true they were showing World Taekwon-Do Federation which is the only one people seem to know or care about because they do it in the Olympics. Internation Taekwon-Do Federation is the original one and the better one because we do both punches and kicks and it was also originated in North Korea.

  • @palamandre but BJJ was influenced by Judo as much as it was by Jitsu

  • Haha that guy is not happy about being thrown around by everyone.

  • uchi mata looks interesting. Hell, I could sure try it one day.

  • i thought judo come from jujitsu as they we used together ?

  • @RobH7065 Judo was developed by Jigoro Kano who practiced JuJitsu because he wanted to come up with a more modern, simpler version of JuJitsu that focused on redirecting momentum rather than overpowering your opponent. In fact, all of Kano's original moves could be successfuly employed by a small Judoka on a much larger opponent.

  • BJJ came from this art.

  • Some people like some techniques others others don't. Personally I'm bad at the leg swinging hip throws like uchimata. Im a deadly leg sweeper though and I use several lifting moves.

  • i do judo for almost 12 years now and uchi mata is definetly not the most difficult technique. at least in my oppinion

  • I did a version of it after only 1 year of training judo. And seriusly it was really easy.

  • unci mata aint the hardest move , the flip over yuour head is hardest for me :D idk whats it called in english , myself i go to judo for 4 years now :) im the 1st in my age and weight category in Lithuania :)

  • I am studying Guerilla JuJitsu. I already know Kali, Boxing, and Tae Kwon Do. But will all of that said and done. I have been in 3 fights and only won twice. The second one had me limping for week or so. STILL it beats 2 hour lectures anyday of the week and twice on sunday.

  • I feel bad for the judoka who had to be the uki for all three of them at Toki

  • uchi mata was my fav throw. hard to get but if you do its effortless

  • A perfectly axecuted uchi mata is extremely difficult and a use in real life is even harder lifts are way easier.

  • pratice pratice pratice. I used this when I was play wrestling with a friend. Basically u feel his momentum and try to guide it upwards towards one of your shoulders, once u feel his posture is weak enough u execute the move, guiding him towards your shoulder, so he goes up and over.

He got stunned for a good few seconds he just sat there on the floor after the slam.

  • the plural for ryu is ryu-ha, not ryu's...

  • jason 6:15 submitted a black belt judoka.......... BJJ FTW!

  • anyone in toronto know a good cheap place to learn judo?

  • look it up

  • So if i dont have a shirt on its ineffective? xD

  • not true

  • Judo is a deep sport. There are 67 basic throws and 29 basic ground techniques. Plus hundreds of variations and techniques still taught but illegal in competition. There is a lot that can be done if your opponent doesn't have a shirt on. But... we tend not to get into fights on the beach, in the shower, etc... ;)

  • Most Martial artists don't get into fights period =)

  • @Chuikov23

Yes but people don't wear Judogis, they wear shirts that would just rip if you tried to throw them.

Also my club never taught any illegal techniques.. I think they didn't want to risk injury

  • @calumhm Really? Cuz I've been going to Judo wihout a gi for almost two months. I wear gym shorts and a t shirt. They have no problem throwing me at all, trust me. If a Judoka wants to throw you, you will get thrown. For self-defense, my Sensei teaches, to grab the arms, wrists, head, hair, or even the skin. You don't need a gi to throw someone.

  • @Chuikov23 um what if your mugged in an alley and a guy dosnt have a shirt

  • @Chuikov23 So true haha.

  • @Chuikov23 fights in the shower cracks me up, but it might save your ass in prison

  • @Chuikov23 i get the shower because theres not enough room but why the beach?

  • nope. you can always hook underneath the armpit using momentum and throw the opponent. trust me it hurts xD my friend is really good at it and he showed me a few ways to throw someone

  • no...lol, you still have feet for foot sweeps, and seoinages, koshinages, etc all work fine without a gi. you still have limbs legs and hips, so you can still be thrown .

  • pretty much but in a real fight u going to tell the other guy to wait so u can take off your shirt? XD

  • Nice upload dude.

  • It means he has a 10 to 1 win loss ratio.

  • ok... what really happened is a man named kano jigoro had a jiujitsu school his students were all getting injured in the training so he stripped down jujitsu to the basics thus judo was born... and brazilian jujitsu was not created by a japanese. mitsuyo maeda traveled to japan and tought jujitsu and judo to helio gracie who in turn created brazilian jujitsu

  • Mitsuyo Maeda never taught Helio Gracie . He taught Carlos Gracie .

  • What does a "combined record of 10 and 1" mean?

  • 10 wins and 1 loss

  • 10 wins 1 loss in profesional matches im guessing

  • I'm confused. Judo has Jiu Jitsu moves? Please help

  • judo is throwing or takedown and grappling. jui jitsu is more simple takedowns but is more emphasizing on grappling

  • partly correct.. but i think your only talking about brazillian jiu jitsu, which came from Kano Judo and emphasized Judo ground techniques.

The original jiu jitsu (Japanese Jiu jitsu) is a more old and complicated fighting system that employed throws, joint locks, some striking, and ground techniques. Its what the samurai used if they happened to have lost their sword in combat. (wiki it.. its all there...)

  • In simpler words Brazilian jiu jitsu (All submissions) came from Judo(throws, submissions, pins) came from Japanese JuJitsu(Throws, Submissions, Striking, and Weapon technique)

  • yes. jujitsu is the raw martial art, judo is the polishied martial art. it has many of the same moves its just jujitsu is more agressive and move joint break. its more for combat but i highly recomend it for anyone. judo on the other hand has alot of throws. but basicly its the same stuff its just jujitsu is a little more violent. hope i help(and hope i got everything right) oh and by the way i do some jujitsu myself

  • judo was developed out of jiu jitsu...

like one guy (i dont know the name, but google it up) took the samurai art: Jiu Jitsu and threw out all the deadly and self defense stuff and created a tournament sport known as Judo.

    hope i could help!

  • Judo was made from Jiu Jitsu. It just doesn't have any weapon or strength requiring moves.

  • Well your wrong judo just optimizes your strength. Olympic judoka's work more on their physical abilities because most of thier technique's are perfect.

  • Judo has JU Jitsu moves which is the Japanese martial art judo came from

  • Western trained? He means English by the way.

  • Whats more worth learning. Japanese jujitsu or judo?

  • im a bronze medallist on the EU championships under 21, fighting system jiu-jitsu. judo is my basis from which i fight in and out of the ring. it's easier to learn punches, kicks and pressure points after becoming a skilled judoka than the other way around.

    hope this helps;)

  • Judo if u live in the city with concrete pavement sidewalks and vice versa Jujitsu for..

  • 8:12 LOL ASSCRACK.

  • I never understood why people say Judo>BJJ>Jiu Jitsu> Aikido

Obviously I thought it would make more sense for Jiu Jitsu to be the best as it is Judo plus more! You have less throws to choose from and less grappling I hear but I thought the basics were only required.

BJJ looks to scruffy to me though-they certainly look strong so I don't think they emphasis throws as much as groundwork

Oh yeah-why is Bill Goldberg on this lol-he wouldn't have trouble doing it!

  • I don't understand exactly what you're talking about, but if you wanna understand more about those arts, and their differences, I'll be happy to discuss them for you sometime.

  • Probably an example of my ignorance but i didn't realise Judo fighters used "shrimping exercises". But very nice to see none the less. Some really tough training.

  • Kami Shiho Gatame is my favorite.

  • I think Jason will be taking this challenge lol

  • i remember i got thrown to the wolves in a judo crash-course when i was a white belt!

took a week for my neck to heal!

  • Haha :P the sensei

    Wan! Too! Trie !

  • dude those exercises are nothing i lived in okinawa and did those everyday when i was seven

  • does a judokan have to be "strong" ...if u know what i mean?

  • Comment removed

  • It's good for a Judoka to be "Fit". However, even young girls can do judo.

  • Agemizu Sensei teaches at my college. How awesome is that?

  • We do that ground work at my school, it's a lot of fun.

  • do they realise they blokes are jumping for em when they show uchi mata? HA muppets

  • im going #2 now
