This experience was awe inspiring. I saw a stealth helicopter in '88, about 70 feet off the ground, that was almost completely invisible (not see-through, I could only see it's silhouette against the night sky, obviously a 'copter) and almost completely silent. I agree that it is possible for "life to exist in unlikely places. But all of these life forms found in harsh conditions are tiny micro organisms so simple that they require the bare minimum to survive. I do not get why the general consensus for extra-terrestrial life is super advance beings with technology way beyond our own. I believe in the possibility of life forms in space. We only know it happened here once. It might be a common occurance, it might not be. We just don't know. There might be a billion-billion places in the universe, but what if the odds of life forming are one in a billion-billion-billion-billion? Maybe the odds favor there not being life.

I agree that it is possible for "life to exist in unlikely places. But all of these life forms found in harsh conditions are tiny micro organisms so simple that they require the bare minimum to survive. We only know it happened here once. It might be a common occurance, it might not be. We just don't know. There might be a billion-billion places in the universe, but what if the odds of life forming are one in a billion-billion-billion-billion? Maybe the odds favor there not being life.

My point is we don't know the probabilities of life forming when those conditions are present. It might be 1:1, or 10:1, or 1 trillion:1. All the earth like places could be full of life. But, then again, they might all be dead. We are missing the key part of the equation. I am not denying life elsewhere, I am just denying your logic for believing there is.
