  • if you actually care about your child's wellbeing and integrity you should give him the autonomy of developing a set of morals by himself through interaction (a.k.a. simply living and maturing), education and reflection. You just can't coerce a person to be honest without inhibiting their sense of emotional freedom—which as you might guess can lead to worse problems than dishonesty.
