@CakeSublime It works on the same principle as a guiro. The section he scratches is kind of damaged and the wood grain comes through. This means you can get the guiro effect. The alternative is to get a piece of wood that is thin and ridged and put it on your guitar so you can obtain the same sound.

yeah hes got some skills but for me it feels there is no rhythm. its all a bit cold and empty and slightly out of time. think he over uses the percussion rather than for it to accompany the guitar. less is more people :P
