Very true. AL uses a HUUGE amount of gain/saturation, delay, and reverb live. I saw them live in West Palm Beach, FL back in 2004 and it was almost hard to distinguish notes. But he's killer.
I know I've said this before, But I absolutely love your guitar! You are an awesome player, great cover, and I'd kill to have that guitar! it's just so nice!
Ta very much - the guitar's not a strat though, it's a Showmaster with a Flame Ash top. Check out Chemistry or Tom Sawyer to se it in it's true glory :-)
yes - the switch in tempo and feel is so characteristic of Rush's songs. After all these years, I'l still trying to figure out the best fingering for that.
and they dont turn the effects on and off either. just take all that fuzzy shit off and you'll have a clear enough tone for the arpeggiated chords.

Are you muting the strings during the prechorus? Idk what it is, but it sounds awful....otherwise, the rest was pretty good

Good, but too much distortion.

AL uses much more drive when playing this live than on the studio version ;)

Your covers are great. A good song to do a guitar cover would be The Necromancer by Rush. Awesome covers! Up the Irons and Rush On!
yankees1118 3 years ago
ah - Necromancer would take some multiple guitar tracks!!! Thanks very much

This is Fricking awesome!!
witch sound/effect are you using?
ralph1230 3 years ago
ta very much - the sound is a Seattle drive with chorus/flanger combined and modern 4x12 cabinet setting from a Korg AX1500G effects board

mribanez123 3 years ago
dude... your guitar is messed up... hahaha just kidding, thats pretty sweet that you put a strat neck on that guitar
shaggy1039 3 years ago
ta very much - but it's not a strat neck. The guitar's a Fender showmaster with 24 fret, narrow diameter neck so it has very good high access.
Docca3 3 years ago
wow... ive never even heard of it. Very nice!
