I have 2 comps one with windows one with Mandriva and have less problems with Mandriva then i do with with windows , built both of my comps i do how ever see the Advantages and Dis of both OS in this but find my self using Mandriva a lot more then windows plus Mandriva was a cheaper buy then windows too Loving the Linux OS's *smiles * Like to learn new things makes the mind broaden The more you know the better it is . i have ubuntu but it sucks in installing something from web. does mandravia is also dependent of sucky pacakges and code and stuff like that or does it have good setups and installers like windows and macs ???

i liked my set up for the program my self but i bought a legal coy of mandriva ,, thou i did not go torrent i liked how it went in so smooth and less of a memory and hog on the resource on your comp too _ Linux is just not kids play you have to actual think when doing thing Not handed down in a spoon like windows or mac . be surprise how many are on that are not kids i bet 3/4 of the population is adults on web lol

I also have tried to like Ubuntu, but I like Mandriva better because it is much easier to configure thanks to Mandriva Control Center. Once I learned all of the diferences I started to LOVE LINUX.

All Linux distros need to download packages unless you don't need to have DVD & or Mp3, WMA, WMV, decoders.

Remember linux is free software and they only include free decorders.

Having repositories in Linux is like having windows update, except that you decide what to install. Not M$.

Well, you will run into some dependency issues every once and a while. I know, been using Mandriva for 8 years. However, unlike Ubuntu, Mandriva isn't tied down to its own downloads. If you can find the software, 95% of the time Mandriva can get it to work.

AMD Athon (jeden rdzeń) 2000xp+, 1GB RAMU i Radeon 9600. Może nie mega płynnie (jak mam za dużo ognia to tnie), ale na karcie od NVidii śmiga aż miło :) (jakaś z serii 6xxx lub 7xxx :)

Nie ma wymagań ! Ja mam kompa z przed paru lat i prawie wszystkie efekty (ogień sobie darowałem, bo niestety już karta nie wyrabia). A Radzio 9600 i 1GB RAMU z AMD Athlon 2000xp+ daje radę :D

it all looks nice, but i find it distracting when my OS looks more interesting then the stuff I need to do. so, after trying these effects, I found it much more user friendly to turn them off.

The emulator was InnoTek VirtualBox (free). Good for emulating Windows, Linux, etc.

But for OS X use PearPC.

Straightforward switching form one os to another is one thing, and attracting prospective customers by copying somebody else's work is another. Much as I dislike Windows, I cannot accept telling people that Linux is a cheaper version of Windows, cause this makes Linux look as something worse, a tacky os that needs to mimic the Redmont giant's software to sell. Linux is now far superior to Windows and that's what you have to stress.

may i remind you, the first windows was thought of as a blatent rip off of the first multi task mac OS (i dont recall what it was called)

The only thing about this OS that resembles vista (that hasn't already been done by linux before vista) is the transparent toolbars.
