Just another kudos from another satisfied farmer. I was gone from Farm Town for a long time and was having a hard time catching up on all the new stuff the game now has. I learned how to layer thru written instructions way before I'd left and wasn't looking forward to going back to it but saw no other way to level and make coins fast. I'd heard of stacking but the few videos i'd seen made it look so complicated until I found yours. Thank you and I'll be sharing it with my group of FT friends.
very good video:however when I rt click and open in new tab it does not reconnect :therefore oriinal plow shows on every farm and doesn't allow overlapping. I have windows 7 and IE lastest release. What could be the problem?
This was the best video on stacking the farm. Oh not the first to tell you that. LOL but so glad another farmer sent it to me after I did some seriously funny stacking on one farm.
This was the best video on stacking the farm. Oh not the first to tell you that. LOL but so glad another farmer sent it to me after I did some seriously funny stacking on one farm.
To see my farm, where I overlapped "9x", go to this link:
tinyurl(DOT)com(SLASH)5swakgp
A full-sized farm is 24x24, but with gaps removed it is really 32x32 when it comes to fields. Thus it can have up to 1024 "normal" fields (x^2, where x=32 ). The method used in this video can yield 3008 fields (3(x^2)-2x). The extended method gives 8836 (9(x^2)-12x+4). A lowly 12x12 (really 16x16) farm can have 2116 this way.
I took this further: Open nine tabs and overlap each "normal" plot nine times, instead of three times. For each tab, you indent (from: left/right edge): 0/0, 0/1, 0/2, 1/0, 1/1, 1/2, 2/0, 2/1, 2/2. That is, 0/0 is plowing normally, and 2/2 you're indenting two spaces from the bottom left edge and two spaces from the bottom right edge.
Thank you so much for a very clear understanding on how to do this. It's like pulling teeth to get anyone to take the time and explain this to you. Thank you for taking the time to make the video so that all of us can understand what you're talking about. It's greatly appreciated
Well this is by far the BEST video on how to Stack farms on youtube. It worked and it was easy as hell. I tested to see what the limit is on the stacking and 3 is the max. I tried 5 but there is clearly no change from triple layering. So thanks again and i have added this video to my favorites.
You can harvest and plow yourself. I have 7 stacked farms..all full sized. Many times I am unable to hire someone (marketplace, neighbor, buddy). I only hire people with 16x harvesters and plowers. The 1x, no matter what, will take forever (even with a fast 1x). So when I can't find someone, I harvest and plow myself. Double the crops (fertilized), but not big buckets. Oh well..costs more to plow yourself, but it can be done. :-)
@in4lunch sure can. You will make a ton of coins and XP by doing it that way. But its very time consuming. Make sure you have lots of time on your hands
Thx, Eric! Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. But I don't know why when I plow, FT will not let me plow without gaps between each field...Is this a new thing and do you know how to do it without the gaps to make full use of the space available?
@men0mad click on the wrench at the top right hand side of the game.....it should be next to the same button that you click to go offline like i showed you. Once you click the wrench, select remove spaces between fields and you should be good to go.
Thanks, Eric. I tripled the number of fields I have...all 7 of my farms are stacked now...and nothing but fields...with the exception of the pitsty on Farm 1 for fertilizer. I am able to harvest and plow my own crops.
After I have harvested the stacked fields I can't replow them, I have to delete them and do it all again. Is that right or am I doing something wrong?
I love thiz tyvm i learnt!

Thank youuuu.
Though may I say, if you are new to this and hired to harvest and plow on these farms with single clicking, it is insane xD

Hi,
Excellent instructions on stacking. Can you explain how to have an oil pump on a stacked or layered farm.
Thank you,

@pjsteer47 you need to hire people from the market to plow only. I dont think you can do it yourself due to the red square
