No one of the companions - may Allah be pleased with them- did so .. And the prophet peace and blessings be upon him told us that any innovation in religion is TABOO and not accepted. May Allah lead them, I know that a lot of them are good ppl and pious , but still, they are astray.. May Allah lead them all , amen
