The Torah does not say gays will burn in hell. Homosexuality is an abomination but not the individual. The homosexual individual is given an extraordinary task by G-d to change his/her personal character . They are sensitive people & r very important for the community as a whole, where they can apply such sensitivities in constructive ways!

If you read carefully, the abomination is the ACT (homosexual sex) and NOT THE INDIVIDUAL Person.

I find it brilliant that so many straight people are beginning to empathise with the gay community, and stand up for them as they would any other modern minority. The biggest misconception of all - that homosexuality is in some way a lifestyle choice - is finally beginning to be destroyed. Let's go with that. 2-3% of the population are to conceal the affection they feel for their mates to keep from upsetting the 97% who might be offended. And the next generation will be 2-3% (suppression doesn't reduce the number, sorry). So subsequent generations are to keep their affection on the 'down low' too. My young hetero friends wouldn't even notice 2 guys kissing. How come they're so immune from this horrible emotional injury?

The relevance of the unfortunate murder in Washington escapes me. You have not answered my initial question as to why Israel is considered repressive, yet none of the surrounding arab nations would ever tolerate a gay pride celebration - never mind give it official state police protection. Incidentally, I use the term asshole in only the most loving and supportive way.

situation for homosexuals, transvestites and so on is very difficult in some parts of the world... specially because not only "old" people are against it, also lots of young people who are ready to kill you for no real reason.. why? because they are radicals... they dont need to be religious or whatever, they just feel offended and are ready to kill a gay.

That is such a misleading argument "I expect gays not to put their intimate bedroom behaviour out in public." The only reason the gay community is so vocal is because they have to fight for basic rights; they have to have their voice heard, whereas straight people take these same rights for granted. It's like saying "black people in the '60s shouldn't have paraded their race around!" They had to in order to bring attention to the injustices done to them. Same with the gay community.
