- The Jews were the people of God, but were not yet united which books belonged to His word, if some of the older or the newest belonged to it or not. Christ came. Christians accepted the fuller version, in Greek, the Septuagint. That is why Catholics have 73 books, Orthodox 75. Jews rejected the Septuagint after rejecting Christ (at Jamnia, CE80). Protestants followed their version because it was in Hebrew.
@hglundahl The Protestant major confessions - Lutherans, Calvinists, Anglicans - started 1500 years after Christianity, by men who were rejecting the Latin Translation of the Greek New Testament. Then they rejected the Latin translation of the Hebrew Old Testament too, but also the Greek Translation called the Septuagint. Also, these men rebelled against the Catholic Church on accounts where the books they rejected - notably Maccabees II, last book of Catholic Bible, supported Catholic practise.
2) Why do Christians say that God is three-in-one and one in three when Jesus says in Mark 12:29: "The Lord our God is one Lord"?
- Because the Three Persons are not three lords, but only One Lord. As already said by St Athanasius and by the First Council of Toledo, before your prophet was even around.

- Not all Christians are saved. Those who hear Christ's words but do not do them as works are not saved.

- Deeds are not irrelevant. We need to pray, fast, give alms, abstain from sin as far as we can, get sins forgiven. You understood this right, some Protestants understood this wrong.

OK these questions are very!!!!! simple. Number one god is three gods and yet one. It is called the holy trenity read the bible. I have never seen/heard a proper explanation of the Trinity. If Jesus is also God then how could God forsake himself? What is the Holy Spirit? Best answer is it's like a hand - something of an extension of God like a hand is an extension of us and one that can sense things like a hand can feel things (although in His case it would be a sense we don't have and can't explain in the same way you couldn't explain the sense of touch or smell to someone without it)

All religions have different numbers of books & chapters so that's irrelevant. Different Christian faiths don't consider themselves the same religion - so - irrelevant. Even assuming the Bible was given by God everyone knows it was heavily edited and lots cut-out, especially stories of women holding positions of power or influence.

We believe Jesus is all-knowing and all-powerful because he is of the same Nature of God the Father. (Jesus is all knowing: John 21:17) (Jesus is all powerful: Matthew 28:18).
I have always been a Catholic but two years ago, when I was 20 years old I started to know my faith. I asked myself the same legitimate questions u asked. Jesus has the same characteristics as the Father the same abilities and the same nature just as u and me have the same nature. Jesus is different from his Father in his role of Savior. Even when Jesus is of the same nature of God he is distinct in his role, the Father is the Creator, Jesus is the savior, and the Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier.

3) Yawe, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is One God who has the same divine nature. They have the same powers; they r eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, and perfect. They have the same divine attributes but they r different persons. So the Father sent Jesus, and Jesus became man and as a man he prayed to God, he received revelation from the Father. Think of the Trinity as an egg. One egg has three parts (shell, yolk, white) just as one God has 3 persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)

1) Jesus was the son of God, this does not imply he was created. In the old testament when u were "the son of" u were "of the same order of" so the "sons of David" were kings like David. The "sons of Aron" were priests like Aron. So when in the New Testament Jesus affirms he is the "son of God" he is saying he is "of the order of God," God like God. Read John 1:1.
i appreciate your answers. i've been studying about christianity since i was studying in the university. i found many similarities between christianity and Islam. however, i also found that there are several chapters that doesn't confirm with logic nor with common sense.
the matter of trinity is an example. as we know God is the creator of the universe, and the creator of all creatures. now if christianity says that Jesus is a part of this God, why is Jesus different from the other parts of God (the father, and holy ghost)?

Jesus, or God the Son, was sent to pay for man's sins so that they might be with God the Father in heaven. The Holy Spirit is still on earth with us to guide us to God the Father. An example might be how American Gov't has three branches that do different things but make up one governing body (not to relate America in any way to God).

This change was after Jesus' life, however. So He would have known all 46. And those 46 + 27 New Testament books=73.
So these 73 were accepted as the Bible for almost 1500 years, when Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation. Because there were not Hebrew manuscripts known at the time, he changed the Bible from 46 to 39 books...and that's why there's 7 less books there today.
Both Protestant and Catholic Bibles have the same number of books in the New Testament: 27.
However, Catholic Bibles have 7 extra books, and here's why:

@Catholicist Oh, I completely agree. I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian. The Moslem religion has been considered an evil heresy by Christianity since Mohammad's own time. That's why I pointed out St John of Damascus: he was the first major Christian writer to expose the Ishmaelite religion for the silly lie it is.

1. The Catholic Bible has the original list of books regarded as the Word of God (called the canon), while Martin Luther, who wrote the Protestant bible, took out some books that did not agree with his teachings.

- The Jews were the people of God, but were not yet united which books belonged to His word, if some of the older or the newest belonged to it or not. Christ came. Christians accepted the fuller version, in Greek, the Septuagint. That is why Catholics have 73 books, Orthodox 75. Jews rejected the Septuagint after rejecting Christ (at Jamnia, CE80). Protestants followed their version because it was in Hebrew.

Then they rejected the Latin translation of the Hebrew Old Testament too, but also the Greek Translation called the Septuagint. Also, these men rebelled against the Catholic Church on accounts where the books they rejected - notably Maccabees II, last book of Catholic Bible, supported Catholic practise.

Ok question nine is super easy. Mary was used as a vesile. She was not some holy being. Jesus created life but not mary indirectly duh... The holy spirit just impreginated her (not sexualy) with jesus. But jesus was around before mary was created. she was just used to give jesus flesh. This is not the case cuz if we assume the Bible is the word of God (which it is) then we must also assume that God would protect its word, to protect his truth. I have never seen/heard a proper explanation of the Trinity. If Jesus is also God then how could God forsake himself? What is the Holy Spirit? Best answer is it's like a hand - something of an extension of God like a hand is an extension of us and one that can sense things like a hand can feel things (although in His case it would be a sense we don't have and can't explain in the same way you couldn't explain the sense of touch or smell to someone without it)

Unfortunately I couldn't understand 1 or 2 of your questions because of your accent. Never mind. :-( However your 1st question didn't make sense. All religions have different numbers of books & chapters so that's irrelevant. Different Christian faiths don't consider themselves the same religion - so - irrelevant. Even assuming the Bible was given by God everyone knows it was heavily edited and lots cut-out, especially stories of women holding positions of power or influence.

I have always been a Catholic but two years ago, when I was 20 years old I started to know my faith. I asked myself the same legitimate questions u asked. Jesus has the same characteristics as the Father the same abilities and the same nature just as u and me have the same nature. Jesus is different from his Father in his role of Savior. Even when Jesus is of the same nature of God he is distinct in his role, the Father is the Creator, Jesus is the savior, and the Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier.

2) Through the cross Jesus redeemed the world. Before the crucifixion no one could go to heaven because of original sin but now Jesus died, went to heaven and sent us the Holy Spirit which gives us the power to obey God's will and fortified by the Spirit to be good to be justified in order to go to heaven. So thanks to the crucifixion we have the Holy Spirit and thanks to this we can follow Jesus who is the way the truth and the life. The crisifiction is also and example of martyrdom for God.

1) Jesus was the son of God, this does not imply he was created. In the old testament when u were "the son of" u were "of the same order of" so the "sons of David" were kings like David. The "sons of Aron" were priests like Aron. So when in the New Testament Jesus affirms he is the "son of God" he is saying he is "of the order of God," God like God. Read John 1:1.

the matter of trinity is an example. as we know God is the creator of the universe, and the creator of all creatures. now if christianity says that Jesus is a part of this God, why is Jesus different from the other parts of God (the father, and holy ghost)?
the Bible says that God is the all-powerful, the all-knowing, while jesus was not. the question is: how could someone be the all-knowing and at the same time to be not the all-knowing? to know something, and at the same time to not know it?!

@MuslimView Jesus is different than the other parts because Jesus had a different function. God the Father in heaven rules over everything and gives the law. Jesus, or God the Son, was sent to pay for man's sins so that they might be with God the Father in heaven. The Holy Spirit is still on earth with us to guide us to God the Father. An example might be how American Gov't has three branches that do different things but make up one governing body (not to relate America in any way to God).

This change was after Jesus' life, however. So He would have known all 46. And those 46 + 27 New Testament books=73.
So these 73 were accepted as the Bible for almost 1500 years, when Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation. Because there were not Hebrew manuscripts known at the time, he changed the Bible from 46 to 39 books...and that's why there's 7 less books there today.

However, Catholic Bibles have 7 extra books, and here's why:
Around 2200 years ago (so obviously before Jesus' time), Jewish scholars put together all of the Jewish Scriptures - what we call the Old Testament. There were 46 books, called the Septuagint, that were accepted until about 100 A.D. At that time, the Jewish leaders decided to get rid of the non-Hebrew books, of which there were seven.

However, if The Quran is the REAL word of God, you have a serious question to ask yourself: Since so many of the stories are edited or changed versions of stories that already appeared in The Bible much earlier in history, did God realize He got them wrong? Or, did He feel like changing them? Or, did these infadels magically guess huge parts of what God would say? I think its obvious a man simply used these well known stories!

@TheFourthCommandment The "Apocrypha" is not inspired? Then why did the Jews (including Jesus and the Apostles) have it in their scriptures until the Masorites removed it in 900 AD? Why did all Christians use it until Martin Luther became a heretic and took them out by his own authority?

I am a middle eastern Catholic and i know about muslims who keep telling lies and never find out for themselves. if they do, they will be killed. they can only read quar'an.Catholic bible has accepted all books, but of course there are some even more books which only belong other Eastern Catholics. protestants bible deleted by martin luther when he broke away from true church,because he can't forgive his family (church),and he even tried to delete more and add word "alone" in bible.

@Catholicist Have you ever read St John of Damascus' critique of Islam (A.K.A. the heresy of the Ishmaelites)? Muslims have been using the same tired arguments against Christianity since their heretical religion began. And they still cannot answer basic questions, such as who foretold Mohammad's coming? Why do they kiss the Kabaa if they are iconoclasts? To quote St John, Mohammad "says some other stupid and ridiculous things, which, because of their great number, I think must be passed over."

@age234 please, as a middle eastern we know exactly that the Quar'an is false history made book. We're the ones translated ur history. ur language comes from Assyrian-Aramaic. tell me that is not true. St.John of Damascus' was born in 7centryAD. Mohammed's veses r just another copy and misunderstanding of the bible. HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO READ AND WRITE! he visited a Arian Monk and muhammed took those writings to write his own in cave.he killed people,had sex a 9yr-old,and had many women.

@age234 i will guarantee u that i will point out every single thing that muhammed and his followers had done to write the quar'an, by corrupting the words and on top of that he had made false claim and misguided Arabs to death with sin. Jesus said= no one comes after me to be a prophet. "..no one comes to father except thru me.." if muhammed hasn't accepted Christ he is infact was using words to make his own for his villages to claim "truth". whoever, reads this quar'an becomes a terrorist.

@age234 those muslims or maybe like you who don't get involved in terrorism are just behind the curtains praising the "marytrs", if that's what u want to call them=killing innocent people.not ur fault of Christian view, becuase of Our brothers and sisters of non-catholics have given a green light for muslims to accuse and bare false claims. i know taht for a fact as middle eastern Catholic. Muslims first attacked christianity in east and Europe and jews to control Jerusalum as if it was in peace

@Catholicist Oh, I completely agree. I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian. The Moslem religion has been considered an evil heresy by Christianity since Mohammad's own time. That's why I pointed out St John of Damascus: he was the first major Christian writer to expose the Ishmaelite religion for the silly lie it is.
The one credit I can give the Moslem religion is this: they respect the Virgin Mary more than most Protestants do.

@age234 i apologize for my grammar, i was bit tired when i was typing. yes thank for the St.John of Damascus reference. he did point it out clearly. and about those old tired arguements, those being broken into peaces. i debated with muslims and got nothing. i agree with u too, that the only thing that muslims make up for only fraction of their faith is about the respect for Mary's role with Jesus. very sad that protestants or some others have called us names and gave us sarcasms.unbelievable.

@age234 i thank you mentioning St.John of Damascus. my sister's fiance' is an eastern Orthadox from Egypt. so, yes i exactly know what ur talking about. too bad these protestants and others have given a wrong notion to people. i mean, i'm debating with people who are out of it. stuck in-place of their own opinions and mistunderstanding of the historical church. they keep bashing on paganism, unbiblical, history that happened during the crusaders. no common sense of what was taken place by these

@Catholicist Yes, that is indeed the saddest part. Everyone in the world thinks "Christian" means "Protestant". But Protestants are a new thing, and they are confused about a lot of things. While a lot of them have good intentions and just don't know any different, they give a lot of people the wrong idea about our ancient religion.

@age234 yes, protestants and u have these guys who think for themselves with bible that claim they're preaching from the bible but ignoring other parts of the bible. they pick and choose verses according to minds only. they have not been guided by the holy spirit to do the whole works of Christ (like baptizim, Eucharist, confession, etc), except for themselves. they are indeed confused ALOT ABOUT CATHOLIC HISTORY. mixing and matching paganism, giving a green light for muslim to attack christians

1) The Catholic / Orthodox Bible use the Bible that was used by the Apostles. The Old Testament in the Catholic Bible has extra book, where as the New Testament is the exact same. The reason for this is highly complicated, but the Catholics / Orthodox use the Bible that the Apostels used....thus, they are correct and the Protestants are wrong.
2) Christians do not say God is 3 in 1. Christians have been saying for 600 years before Islam that God is 1.

2. God can do anything he sets his mind to. If he is able to turn Bread and Wine into the Body and Blood of his Son, then he can unit 3 into 1.
3. In a confusing way, Jesus is also God but at the same time the Son of God.
4. Well possibly, but you must understand. In Judasim Sacrafice of the unblemished Lamb was the only atonment for Sin. Since Jesus is the Lamb of God, he is the ultimate and last sacrafice.

5. God sent us Jesus to die for our sins. Not for his own (which has has none beacuse he in himself is God). Jesus is the Lamb of God, I am not the Lamb of God so my crucifixion, if I ever had one, would not suffice.
6. He did not die beacuse someone was responsible for Sin (that is what Hell is for) he Died to atone for sin.
