  • I love the touching, sad version of The Entertainer. :( Interesting to hear lyrics put to it.

  • hey... is that Lydia the tattooed piggy? this adorable

  • God bless Uncle Milty... one of the best ever.

  • Can any of you fine people could please write the lyrics at the beginning? A lot of non-english speakers will be glad to fully get what they say. Thanks!

  • Think this is one of the reasons why Miss Piggy has a perm now?

  • @4:00 on is one of the best parts. So much for PC back in the day. Love it.

  • *mouth drops* Wow.... i actually like this! I always liked "The Entertainer" anyway But hearing it with Lyrics was pretty AWESOME! I love this ragtime piece :D

  • Happy Birthday Jim Henson!

  • Put something in it rolf!

  • Frank Oz & Jim Henson

Two true entertainers. There are few nits to pick. Berle may be an acquired taste, tho. Went to sleep, he did.

  • this was the joy of the Muppet show. The greats of entertainment working with a genius and they're totally along for the ride

  • No dislikes. Nice.

  • @ajlposh Someone read that and disliked the video out of spite. :P

  • This Show was unique - Henson was genius - unbelivible - sadly we will never see somethink like this... BRAVO

  • who is that guy - a relative of Richard M Nixon??

  • @sculptorlondon He's Milton Berle! One of the greatest entertainers of all time!!! How dare you!?

  • a born home? - she's a born ham!!

  • i saw this and i want to play it on piano. i learn it in 1 hour. ty to this song and the muppets

  • LMAO.... 4:15

  • This definitely would not have been appropriate for kids when it was first on television.. but I have to say, I like it :]

  • @haveasliceofmypie

Bah! I grew up watching the Muppet Show and it hasn't had any negative effect on me. It's humanity that's warped my mind!

  • @haveasliceofmypie The great thing about Jim Henson, is that he apealed to both child and adult. When I was a child watching it, I never thought anything other of 'Oh god, Piggy is SUCH a ham!'. Now as an adult, I get the flipside of it. :) Jim Henson was the greatest thing to happen to my generation.

  • he was a great man.

  • This show was actually the first I ever heard of Milton Burle.

I can honestly say, I think he really was one of the greats.

  • @FigliaDellUragano No doubt! I sure do miss Uncle Milty.

  • No wonder they call Milton Berle "Mr. Television",He and Frank Oz (Miss Piggy) and Rowlf (Jim Henson) do a wonderful job! Rowlf gets away with the pig jokes that Kermit (Also Jim Henson) could never get away with. 5 stars!

  • .... I can't believe I just watched the muppets. I didn't know there were words to the song, but I did like the music.

  • Piggy's got a nice ass, and a sizzlin' hot body to boot.

  • Might just be me, but I think Milton Berle is actually humble in this sketch. (If I recall correctly, he was supposed to be somewhat... egotistic.)

  • Miss Piggy true diva: somebody like for example Beyonce could learn something from this...

I read somewhere that Piggy's interpretation was actually banned in the US: for some reason I am not too surprised about that.

  • It wasn't "banned" in the US: it's just that there were spots on the show that were only broadcast in the UK because the length of the show in the two countries was different. The UK's commercial breaks were two minutes shorter so they'd record an extra 2 minute spot to fill that block. In this particular week, Piggy's rendition of the Entertainer was the filler.

  • @CF1975 i dont think anybody is suprised about that...

  • To average 80-100,000 vaudeville performances in his life, Berle would have to average 3 to 4 performances per day, seven days a week since early childhood.

  • Well, vaudeville demanded that kind of schedule.

  • It should be further pointed out that in a vaudeville show he might play in three or four different pieces per show, and several shows per day.

  • Most people don't know the song has lyrics. Many people also only think this song as the theme to The Sting.

My sources attribute these lyrics to John Brimhall, but the concluding stanza is improvised.

  • i love how she calls him rowlfy and tries to all cute and he is just like sure. piggy should save that for another jim henson charcter

  • haha 'she's a born ham'

  • "Hubba hubba!"

I know I said this before, but Rowlf is so cute.

  • Is "The Entertainer" copyrighted?

  • The song was written in 1902, it's public domain now.

  • @PissingRabbitProd If you look at ASCAP or BMI's site you may find your answer.

  • @PissingRabbitProd everything is copyrighted!!! :(

  • Heh...and people assume The Muppets is solely for children...

  • it never was...

  • What is funny is that when I saw this episode as a little girl, it pretty much shaped my ENTIRE life. It took me years to find this, thank you.

  • in the beginning ... wow i love this sad version of "the Entertainer"

  • "She's a born home!"

"Here we go bringing home the pork!"

For once, pig jokes and someone didn't get the chop.

  • The pork chop?

Sorry couldn't resist. Rolf is just lucky Piggy was too wrapped up in the song to pay attention to him

  • You're lucky my brain isn't awake yet. Otherwise this probably wouldn't be funny. But good one.

  • "No hogging the piano!"

    :P

  • Hog? Hog this! HI-YA!

  • @BuckWilliams17 dude its not she's a born home its

    she's a born HAM

  • @nicolinek Thanks for picking that up. Just a mistype on my part.

  • @BuckWilliams17

"For once, pig jokes and someone didn't get the chop."

I see what you did there.

  • @BuckWilliams17 its born ham not home.

  • @Arosin90 I know. I saw that afterwards. Just a typo.

  • I love this song. Thanks for putting this up.
