  • ARMALITE builds the ONLY AR-10. The rest are just wannabe copies and it shows in the build quality (or lack of) the accuracy guarantee (or lack of) the lifetime warranty (or lack of) and the superb ARMALITE customer service. ARMALITE offers "built to your specs" rifles and guarantees the accuracy of every rifle they build. I paid $201.00 more for my ARMALITE AR-10 than a DPMS copy and it is worth way more than that little bit of cash. You get what you pay for when you buy the best. ARMALITE.

  • What are the gun laws like in hawaii ?

  • Everyone looking at the arguements between the Armalite and the DPMS:

You would not be disappointed by whichever you bought. It is not like the difference between buying a chinese made AK-47 and a Romanian AK-47, which is a GIGANTIC difference in quality.

Either one would be a great buy!

  • COOL...have fun with it before our nig pres comes to get it!!!

  • the rang is probably the size of the island

  • looks very fun and interesting to shoot a classic army gun like that.

  • Seems like every video on youtube of someone shooting is eather shooting at 50 feet or sooting off a rest. I'd like to see some 200 yrd offhand.

  • yeah 7.62

  • its kinda cool u can shoot 350 yards but the real cond unless milit, 50 feet shooting is reasonabley the best shooting ar10 or ar15

50 foot head shots no opt scope,

is personaly my cup of tea but nice ar10

  • My one complaint about the gun is that it is heavy as hell, about 11 Lbs. Other then that, no complaints.

  • ar10 is only 7 lb

  • ar10 is only 7 lb

  • Depends on which one you get ,ime weighs in at about 9.5 pounds

  • i am talking about the original

  • Nice shootin tex.

  • The nicest looking range is probably Koko Head on Oahu, but they also have the most rules. My range is the Mana Range on Kauai. We have very little rules, but you do need to be a member of the gun club to shoot there.

  • Stop by the AR-10 forum "EBRSOPMODS".com Guys have them for sale from time to time.

  • Waachback, I have been trying to get a Armalite AR10 A4 CB for months now and it is near impossible to obtain. Cash in hand, nobody can get one for me. 15's are a dime a dozen but I'm holding out for the big dog! Any advice???

  • It actually took me a while to get this one because they are pretty rare. I bought mine directly from Armalite. Just have your dealer fax over his FFL.

  • Buy an Rock River Arms brand, the model disugnation is "LAR 10". It is far less expensive, usese FN-FAL or L1A1 magazines and I have found it to be more accurate and reliable than my Armalite. Also better build quality and customer service.

  • jmo, if you are still in the market, dpms panther arms makes a LR308 which competes with armalite and rock river arms in the .308 7,62x51 ammo category. The NRA designated it the rife of the year in 2006, I own a DPMS Panther AP4. It is a shortened carbine and it is AMAZING.

  • You can't beat DPMS's accuracy or price. If you buy anything else you're just buying a name...

  • DPMS doesn't even have an accuracy guarantee or a lifetime warranty, and costs twice as much as armalite.

  • I don't need a guarantee from a company. I need a reliable gun with known reliability, and great accuracy that comes from a company with superb customer service.

You might want to review their websites as well because Armalite charges between $300-$500 MORE for a rifle of the same style. Not to mention the fact that DPMS allows you to build your rifle the way YOU want it and then deliver it to you FFL completed. Ask anyone who owns one, DPMS makes the best AR out there and for cheap.

  • I hear that a lot from the people who didn't want to spend the extra money or couldn't. I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but it always comes across as a defensive rationalization. There's nothing wrong with buying an Armalite. They make a quality product, and it is neat owning a piece of American history since they originated the whole AR platform to begin with with the original AR-10.

  • which doesn't have to be a bad thing!

  • Heh, DPMS does make a very good AR10 clone, but considering that it is $200+ higher, the difference would not be noticed by the average user.

  • @ILRRLM Wrong.

  • @ILRRLM

    .... .. and a brass deflector.....and a forward assist.... tighter headspacing.....

    i could go on.
