  • Where can I get the documentory for this video ?

  • Master Duan rocks!

  • Master Duan is still about and active at over 100 years old - for example he will speak at the upcoming traditional chinese medicine congress in Athens, June-July 2012.

  • I smiled at the end. This guy's my hero.

  • @trakomako Chi kung could help but so could sewing or painting. It's about mindfulness and the exploration of yourself. Any activity which requires your concentration is good for you (within reason, obviously).

  • If interested in Qigong and high level Chinese Cultivation check out Falun Gong All the material is available on the internet for free

  • @trakomako no

  • @trakomako Yes. If you overextend or strain your joints you can damage them, doing more harm than good. All movements are natural and balanced, if there is strain then you are hurting yourself. There are also stories of overdoing chi kung (qigong) can lead to something called chi psychosis, giving you a horrible god complex. You must remember that these arts are based on principles of balance, and balance must be observed in all aspects.

  • @LomLom333 Prolonged lifespan means you can live longer. Not stay young forever.

  • @LomLom333 Yes. His life SPAN is longer now. As opposed to being 60, he will live to about 80 or 90. That is prolonging your lifespan.

  • my teacher sponsored this man (master duan) in the united states for a few weeks when he was 97 years old- he had alot of energy i guess, and rarely slept. that was about 10 years ago. unfortunatly i wasn't a student yet. i think he's still alive. there's another video posted of him last year- he looks older, but still good.

  • I bet he can do more flare than the other b-boy

  • they dont make this sort of reportages/documentations these days. everything has become so industrial/commercial. I try to stick with qi gong my whole life, even I'm pretty young for a future qi gong trainee in the "west"

  • Where can I get a Master Duan hat? The one he's wearing for the first minute or so.

  • $1 is a lot of money :(

  • this guy is a badasss.

  • Not all but many Americans are so medicated by doctors. They are drug pushers

as far as I'm concerned. I've seen my family and many people die from drugs.

This is so incredible and I'm starting this tonight.

  • @samkurz I feel so good to see someone with common sense. That analogy occured to me a long time ago, that they are more like pushers than healers. Also it is a quick way to be done with them, send them on their way with whatever prescription sounds right, rather than treat them as individuals.

  • @samkurz

this is not all, this is also kills the false persona aka ego, when you practice Qi Gong, out side, in western countrys, people look at you as if you fell out of the sky; when i started to practice i learned everything online and practiced alone outside, it was hard for me to do, because of the my ego, i needed to defeat a part of myself in order to even practice it.

its free, its spiritual, its healing, its relaxation, its balance, its imporve imagination and thinking,

    why not ?

  • @samkurz spread it please. thanks.

  • @samkurz totally agree. i just began tai chi qigong recently in order to seperate myself from the drugpusher

    pharmacy

  • @AmericanPowerBase awwwww! sorry to burst your bubble of ignorance, but you cared enough to reply to me. your argument defeats itself! "You have no respect for yourself" i have no respect for maggots telling me what i'm supposed to think. "You are "projecting" hey stupid, it's called asking for evidence and the onus of evidence is on the persons claiming powers such as this are genuine. They fail EVERY SINGLE TIME they are properly tested under controlled conditions. care to explain it?

  • wonderful video :)

  • i need to learn this stuff! not so much for the warrior stuff the narrator was talking about but more for the healing and stress relief stuff! i need an authentic traditional chinese style teacher tho! here in america, there are too many posers with black belts who try to pass themselves off as masters who, in my opinion, just like to relish the satisfaction in wearing a "black belt"! and we can all see here that this stuff only has positive effects! where are the healthy 90 yr old americans?

  • a few simple words for everyone conversing on this page: peace, love, understanding, open-mindedness, lovingkindness, harmony, balance, coexistence, empathy, compassion

  • what a wonderful man. rejoins his breath with the original chi breath of the universe.

  • if you are from america, chances are you know nothing about the rest of the world and their cultures. America is consumed with the idea that life is about money and sex. look at the culture as a whole, lil wayne is looked to as a hero. this is an ancient art from a people who devote their life to becoming one with nature and the universe. ..Americans , Canadians , Australians ,England should stop invading and destroying countries around the world !

  • wait wait wait.. 2:00 is that a fat joint?

  • Hey guys, did you know that it's possible that BOTH Eastern and Western methodologies and ideas have merit? Some illnesses cannot be cured by ancient, natural methods - people with them died early before certain drugs and surgeries were discovered or invented. Then again, Western medicine is too dependent on drugs - everything is an illness, and everything can be treated by pills.

  • @Elcisitiak only problem is, western medicine has never cured any illness. It only controls symptoms. That's why people end up on drugs for life. That's not a cure, that's business.

  • God bless you Master Duan--Such an inspiration:)

  • Doing martial arts since age 5, I finally, started Taiji in 1996 and with that QiGong. Practising daily at sunrise at my home and having done the same in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Kangding 6 months in total, At age 63, I can recommend qigong to everyone, young and old. It has given me more flexibility, fitness and relaxation in the past 13 years then ever before.

  • Zhineng Qigong is one of the best things I ever did for myself. 11 years and will continue. Ohio State research on Qigong and energy is interesting. It is so real. Open your heart and mind to nature, people and the energy of the universe. A positive person with a open mind can feel the energy. Negative people doubt everything, even themselves.

  • @wujiqigong can you provide me with a link to this research please? Thanks!

  • you will find 20 year olds that are not as fir as this master.

  • Want to know how to improve both the length and quality of your life? Do you think your hero is going to make a pill or an injection for you? Maybe they'll deliver their loving science right into the food chain for us and force it on us. OR you can do what people have been doing since the beginning of time. Listen to your body.

So shit stain lenny, you can say the guy who is selling you the pills said Qi is not scientifically proven. Yes. you are right.

  • that promotes true personal insight, true personal healing and ultimately TRUE personal and INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM AND POWER. You believe that because you are not a published scientist you have NO RIGHT to have a personal experience or insight. You should lay down to scientific elite and kill and be killed for the good of the environment right? I see what you are. You are a puppet, a mindless drone.. devoid of power and free thought. Brainwashed, devoid of free thought, life hater. you are exposed.

  • @lennyhip The reason i ask why you are here is to expose your true intent. The intent that is actual not truly your own. But rather the brainwashing you've unknowingly given yourself to. You are no longer a functioning rationale free-thinking person. You are a brain dead flouride drinking greenie out to violently destroy mankind (which you have been led to believe is killing the earth), to carry out an agenda fed to you by your programmers. That is why you are here, denouncing Qi. And anything

  • To team lenny - You obviously i have a blind devotion to what you call "science" and "scientific method". I quote these terms because you subjectively define what they are. Something no one here will be able to agree with. So my question to you is who are your favorite scientists? Or what studies/papers/"discoveries" do you place most importance on?

  • @rwfresh "So my question to you is who are your favorite scientists? Or what studies/papers/"discoveries" do you place most importance on?"

This question is irrelevant and dismissed as a poor attempt at changing the mental ass whooping you've been getting. it has NOTHING to do with qi/ chi/ kiai and the lack of supporting evidence for any of them.

Craig Venter is my favorite scientist, followed by norman borlaug and carl sagan. I haven't got any favorite "discoveries"

  • @lennyhipp "mental ass whooping you've been getting" Your delusion is incredible. Mental ass whooping? Clearly the dizzying destruction of your feeble reality is further pushing you into a disturbing delusion. Have a glass of water and slow down a bit. As much as i think you are a puss filled disgusting excuse of a human i don't want to be responsible, or rather blamed for your forthcoming and unavoidable mental breakdown.

Stick to the science journals you don't read. Read more.

  • @lennyhipp Thanks for the list of scientists lenny. Now it's clear.

    1. You have a hatred for humanity (this is EXTREMELY clear in your messages)

    2. You are but another mindless robot who has been permanantly brain damaged by a very real agenda of Scientific Tyranny and brainwashing "green movement" who's soul purpose is eugenics and the control of society on a global level

Let me tell you. You are on the losing team. YOU are a causualty. You believe tyranny is freedom. Your mind is lost.

  • "You have a hatred for humanity"

flies in the face of everything i've been saying

"brainwashing "green movement" who's soul purpose is eugenics and the control of society on a global level"

you fucking delusional loon! if you knew what you were talking about you'd STILL be a fucking moron. No one mentioned green movement or eugenics, and if you weren't such a fucking delusional dipshit who lacks critical thinking skills, you'd realize 2of the 3 scientists i named IMPROVE human life expectancy!

  • @lennyhipp hahah did i touch a nerve fag blaster? Truth hurts doesn't it..

The "scientists" you cite are all paid for their bullshit. "you'd realize 2of the 3 scientists i named IMPROVE human life expectancy" PROVE IT you fucking lying sack of shit. You believe all the shit the Medical industry and FDA force feeds you don't you! WHO DO YOU THINK FUNDS THESE LOSERS you fucking A WHOLE. NAME ONE fucking disease cured by "science". NAME ONE.

  • Craig Venter = Mapped YOUR human genome. Things like re-growing limbs, curing cancer and many other diseases will one day be possible. see v=4XMO5VfLIKs

Norman Borlaug = watch?v=dPosEhkx5vI one of the greatest men who's ever lived. Saved tens of millions of lives. Yeah... sounds like eugenics and control of society

You delusional, disingenuous FUCKING STUPID PIECE OF SHIT! it's the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you just accused me of!

  • @lennyhipp hahaha starting to get a bit clearer isn't it. All your HEROES are sell out peon bitches owned and operated by big business. The science you are force fed is carefully controlled propoganda. ANY science that would reveal the true healing power of the human body is something you(not me) will NEVER hear about. WHY? MONEY and CONTROL. True free thought is not owned. So it is not sold. your "SCIENCE" is owned and sold. WAKE UP fucking brain dead prick. Tell me science isn't owned.

  • @rwfresh:1. Sounds like they are calling the energy Qi right? Is it "energy"? energy is a quantitative measurement.. So not sure if we can pigeon hole Qi as an energy (ok you don't have an answer for that one.)

    2. Cells receive instruction from the cell wall (Or this one. Or do you actually think that is an answer?)

    3. youtube Dr. Lipton (PhD watch?v=hLZ7GqWpEqM (LOL)

    4. i don't know anything about them,... (Right, u don't what you are talking about)

    5. Prove you aren't hallucinating (exactly)

  • @thecubeisyou 1. not an answer that would give you an experience of it. You can't read this message and experience electricity.

    2. Up to you. Watch video in point 3.

    3. Not sure what you are laughing at. if you are a science guy i would think a published biology professor with groundbreaking research might be of interest.

    4. I honestly had no clue. I'm not lying to you.

    5. Exactly!

man i am full of ego. I know i still get off on this. how lame. internet battles. Science vs spirit. hahahahaha

  • @rwfresh That you think Bruce Lipton's research is "groundbreaking" is very telling (his research is skeletal muscle biology). In point of fact, you are experiencing electricity when reading this message. And my point was that you do not possess the knowledge base to form an informed opinion of the ideas you seem to like so much. Enjoy your ego there, it is definitely doing you proud.

  • @thecubeisyou And who are you? Some 24 yr old dick sucking clown going to teach me something about scientific method? I mean seriously.. Do you think by being a fucking dumb ass bitch anyone is going to listen? What is it you are trying to convince you know? You've convinced me you are scared of the truth and you enjoy being an ignorant fool. Maybe you and lennyhip can bang each other with you 1 inchers while reciting dead science. Have fun with your delusion.

  • @rwfresh You ran out of arguments that quickly? It takes Fundies three times as long to get that flustered that they start in with the personal attacks. And I can certainly tell you that name calling and playground insults don't bother me in the least. But don't bother posting again unless you have some content to add to the discussion.

You simply made claims that have no basis in fact and cannot be supported. There is no use in getting angry about it.

  • @thecubeisyou "You simply made claims that have no basis in fact " You had zero argument. In fact the ONLY argument you and your bum chum lenny have made is that the claims you perceived i have made were baseless. So there is no discussion taking place here fuck head. So on that note I feel it necessary to return your venom. "There is no use in getting angry about it. " I've read your other posts. I mean seriously. Go fool your boy friend if you get off on it.

  • @rwfresh "You had zero argument": Since you missed it the first time, my argument is that there are huge, well supported benefits from the practice of Qigong. Your claim that cells communicate by energy through the cell wall is completely unsupported by ANY factual evidence at all. You have not even been able to form a coherent explanation of what process your are trying to describe (what kind of energy, the mechanism, and how to replicate it. That's not venom, that's a position.

  • @thecubeisyou "Since you missed it the first time, my argument is that there are huge, well supported benefits from the practice of Qigong"

    Agreed.

"cells communicate by energy " Which i never said. I direct you to Bruce Lipton. And you come back and tell me his research is baseless. OK. So believe whatever you want. Can you understand that my experience of Qi is worth more than 10000 papers that might prove it? I make no claims other than what is already known of Qi.

  • on that note look at that website you keep pumping (i haven't gone there). What is the intent? What is the underlying polarity of the content? If you truly believe you are better off with your skepticism shouldn't you share it with like minded individuals instead of pumping it like a desperate Jehovah's Witness? You can be in control of your healing, like you are in control of your destruction. that's all this video demonstrates. Isn't that clear? The guy is 90. What of your 90 yr old relatives?

  • "(i haven't gone there)"

typical to ignore the evidence that contradicts your statements

"shouldn't you share it with like minded individuals"

i share it with everyone. it's important to promote critical thinking. the world has too many ignorants such as yourself

    "that's all this video demonstrates"

it does no such thing. it makes the claim, without evidence

my grandmother is 91, and as healthy as can be expected of someone her age. it's also irrelevant

  • @lennyhipp not my statements. Rather what i know is to be true. I don't drink poison for the same reason. Why is it important to you promote critical thinking? No matter what the answer you should understand it's nothing but a belief based on absolutely nothing. I can discount your belief. "Science" is your religion. At it's core are assumptions. Science is as dogmatic as any religion. It suppresses truth. Stakes claim on things it observes. And when it measures Qi then it will be ok for you.

  • @rwfresh "Why is it important to you promote critical thinking?"

because there's too much stupidity and ignorance in the world. I'm embarrassed for humanity

"it's nothing but a belief based on absolutely nothing"

= argument from ignorance logical fallacy

    "Science" is your religion"

fucking absurd. science cannot be a religion

"Science is as dogmatic as any religion"

    breathtaking stupidity

    "It suppresses truth"

    jawdroppingly moronic

  • @lennyhipp "because there's too much stupidity and ignorance in the world. I'm embarrassed for humanity" This is my favorite post of yours. My fav. Sums it up.

"I'm embarrassed for humanity" hahaha. Embarrassed? I could spend hours listening to you explain this one. You could tell me how you've found yourself separate from your experience of embarrassment. I think what you need to connect with is your obvious shame. Stop projecting it onto QI and other things you are obviously threatened by.

  • "Embarrassed? I could spend hours listening to you explain this one"

yep, delusional, drooling, ignorant, undereducated, morons like yourself are an embarrassment

"Stop projecting it onto QI and other things you are obviously threatened by"

threatened by something that doesn't exist?! Ahhhahahahahaha! What a uneducated douche you are. Are you threatened by unicorns and the easter bunny? then why would you infer such an asinine thing? Qi, like god, ghosts, and your reasoning skills: dont exist

  • @lennyhipp "yep, delusional, drooling, ignorant, undereducated, morons like yourself are an embarrassment" Don't worry lenny, you will be ok. Cling to your feeble world of spoon fed reality and you will be fine. Deny what you don't understand and believe everything the dumbed down science authority tells you. You are fodder for the real world. A worthless, robot devoid of purpose or life. Qi isn't real for you. I agree with you on that. Any other point? Off you go.

  • @rwfresh "Stakes claim on things it observes"

You've got a vast ignorance of the scientific method, and shouldn't be commenting on it

"when it measures Qi then it will be ok for you."

retard, it doesn't have to measure something to show it exists. if it existed in the material world, there'd be evidence supporting it, not anecdotes and conjecture, but testable evidence!

"people have not only known of it for centuries"

and that plus $1.50 will get you on the subway, and nothing else

  • and meanwhile people have not only known of it for centuries they have been using it with full understanding. and it exists IN YOU. that is the complete joke of science. Like gravity. As if gravity had not existed before newton observed it and labeled it. As if a retarded cave man didn't understand that anything thrown into the air fell back to the ground. Do you understand how ridiculous it is? There is no debate here. Science is seriously lacking because at it's core is ego.

  • @rwfresh i could list you 100 things people have known about for centuries, this in NO WAY legitimizes it. People knew about dragons, mermaids and unicorns for centuries too, and you argument falls flat on its face

    "and it exists IN YOU"

it's never been shown to exist when properly tested for. EVER

"As if gravity had not existed before newton observed it and labeled it"

again, your ignorance of science, though astounding as it is, isn't something you should be shouting from mountaintops

  • @rwfresh "Do you understand how ridiculous it is?"

YES i understand how ridiculous the concept of chi/ qi is! FINALLY we agree on something! WOW!!

"Science is seriously lacking because at it's core is ego."

...sigh... and just when i thought you couldn't possibly say anything more fucking stupid than the last quote

"before you read about gravity and studied it in a peer review you didn't know of it or experience it?"

ahhhh. trying to put words in my mouth. That's the best you can do?

  • imagine you acquired a taste for s h i t? this is the story of those that are skeptical of truth.

there is nothing false about this master. and so he tastes bad to those who love the taste of poo.

  • HAHAHA IM NOT THE ONLY ONE! im a christian and love the Tao and buddhist teaching however i dont think it has to be a religion. =) im glad these two can work in harmony

  • where can i find this master duan?

  • THIS IS A REAL QIGONG MASTER.

none of those bullshits or money scam. Master Duan Zhi Liang is the Real thing.

  • 90?!?!?!?! HE's 90!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

  • @goldestmean

Yes master Duan is 90. Don't be surprised of this coming from an authentic Qigong master especially if he is also a 'Taoist' (taoist are known for their many longevity and life preservation secret practices).

  • @bigfatdick5000 there's no such thing as an "authentic qigong master"

"none of those bullshits or money scam. Master Duan Zhi Liang is the Real thing"

ahhahahhahhahahhahahhahaha! wow. thanks, i needed a good laugh

  • The narrator sounds like a heavy-duty alcoholic.

  • People must wonder a little how Masters of Qi-gong manage to live as long as they do without medical issues of the western world. They must be doing right that we haven't figured out...

  • @TheMeriale some of the western world have figured it out actually :)

  • @alkenstein No not really. There are not many Masters of Qigong in the United States or Canada..I have looked into this myself. There are those who practice it,but are not Masters at it.China, Thailand, and other Asian culture's have many Masters. They invented these techniques.I would think they'd have more knowledgeable teacher's of the Qigong than we do.I've been to more than my share here in the states. They are somewhat knowledgeable, but not like the Masters I've worked with overseas..

  • @alkenstein If this was true.We wouldn't have all the illnesses we do.We'd live longer and healthier live's.The people of the west are just within the last 20 years embracing these ancient arts and practice's.

  • I believe in all these stuff but how do you meditate and control chi? I'm curious

  • @KT17699 from my experiences you must learn to be sensitive to the feelings in your body, all of it, the breath, your mind, your organs but with a with a peaceful quite clear mind to avoid negative feelings. chi is life the feeings of life vary. a good sign of experiencing chi is to feel a tingling sensation on the parts of your body you focus on.

  • He is from a lineage of Imperial Guards for 3 generations, how precious is that.

  • bollucks

  • what is the debate? with the best doctors in the world and most money spent of medical care, the u.s. is filled with sickness, sick people who are being sucked dry of money from doctors who prescribe handfull of pills. What harm can eastern medicine and exercises do?? he is 90 years old!! how many healthy 90 year old americans do you know? those people who come on here just to put down other traditions and cultures & argue are the same people filled with negativity that will turn into sickness.

  • @shareen83 AMEN!! you tell em!!!

  • @shareen83 "the u.s. is filled with sickness"

argument from ignorance. the U.S. is filled with people, there's bound to be a lot of sick. It's fairly high on the life expectancy charts

"who are being sucked dry of money from doctors..."

did you ever hear a conspiracy theory you didn't like?

"What harm can eastern medicine and exercises do?"

see "whatstheharmDOTnet" for THOUSANDS of examples

" he is 90 years old!! how many healthy 90 year old americans do you know?"

    Irrelevant for 2 reasons:

  • @shareen83 CONT

    1) you're taking his word for it he's 90

    2) the chinese have the lowest life expectancy for a 1st world power. 3 countries in africa have a higher life expectancy.

    3) there are anomalies in EVERY large group, so with over a billion chinese in the world, is it remarkable that some reach 90yrs? you dont think americans live to 90 too?

you argue like a four year old. you lack logic and critical thinking skills

  • master kame

  • quantium physics stuff is far weirder - so qi qong stuff is not to hard to believe.

theres a to more tho the world than meets they naked eye.

  • Hah for once i can look at all the non believers' comments and laugh. I know why people dont believe paranormal shit or god because theres no PHYSICAL evidence for it, or its all just a matter of faith. but I've actually experienced qigong first handedly because my grandmother does this kind of practice, but damn im usually pretty considerate of other ppl's views but for this subject u just look stupid and closed minded.

  • I pratice and teach Qigong. I have studied it throughly and I find it to be one of the best and most beneficial forms of exercise invented. I do not, however, believe that it has any powers that enable one to heal/hit/kill without touching the person or that it posesses any qualities except that which can be explained through physiological means.

  • @thecubeisyou cells both transmit and receive energy. How else do they know what to do? genes? genes represent a tuning, not a programming.

what happens when you are in full control (or at least beyond average control) of your cells/genes? you wouldn't know unless you experienced it.

  • @rwfresh Ok, what type of energy do they transmit? By what means do they receive instructions by the act? What evidence do you have to support your notion that genes "tune" something. What do you mean by tuning? What, in your view, are the eukaryotic and prokaryotic promoters used for?

Since we know that the human brain is prone to imagination and hallucination, how would you know if you are really in control of all your cells or you are merely perceiving that you are?

  • @thecubeisyou 1. Sounds like they are calling the energy Qi right? Is it "energy"? energy is a quantitative measurement.. So not sure if we can pigeon hole Qi as an energy

    2. Cells receive instruction from the cell wall

    3. youtube Dr. Lipton (PhD watch?v=hLZ7GqWpEqM

    4. i don't know anything about them, i am not a scholar or biologist

    5. Prove you aren't hallucinationg right now

  • A year of debate on this video thread - where has it left us? Has anyone changed their opinions? Those who practise qigong, and experience qi flow, still believe in their experience. Those who haven't practised, haven't experienced it and deny it's existance. Will this change soon?.. Best wishes to all :)

  • @alkenstein couldn't have said it better myself :)

  • A great master once said,

For those that believe, no explanation is necessary.

For those that don't believe no explanation will suffice.

  • @alkenstein There is no debate..there is only "it is or it isn't"for those who have experienced it they know the truth. One's who haven't yet to understand the power of their own bodies. What a shame for them..

  • @Lennyhip

Just out of interest have you ever had an acupuncture treatment?

  • There is no empirical evidence? Sometimes we don't get all the answers merely by observation alone. This is where intuition comes in. But I see that you are disheartened. I write about this in my poetry.

And you've looked for how long? 24 years? All this time must have worn you out; at this rate you're probably confused. But, nonetheless, I don't see a point why you should undermine people's beliefs. After all, we are humans and prone to mistakes.

    Let energy flow into you.

  • "Sometimes we don't get all the answers merely by observation alone"

which is why i said empirical evidence, not observations alone

"This is where intuition comes in"

nonsense. intuition shouldn't be in the equation, it leads to confirmation bias!

"All this time must have worn you out; at this rate you're probably confused"

not looking for chi specifically, for ANYTHING supernatural or paranormal. haven't seen convincing evidence for either yet. I'm not confused, i'm enthusiastic, not worn out

  • sad must be to lose the ability to understand what was not was taught to you and to wonder...

  • sad must be to lose the ability to think critically and not accept every silly claim that comes along, or from grainy video on youtube!

  • @lennyhipp You are a complete moron. You say you researched things for 24 years yet apparently never checked out any research that i have. You are a ass. 24 years down the drain.

  • @noksoocao

you are uneducated, gullible, drooling on yourself, and ignorant

"yet apparently never checked out any research that i have"

yeah, okay... Sure buddy, whatever you say. What's that? you have no evidence to back your claim? Thought so.

  • @lennyhipp sadness is sad. It is negative, produces negative expression.

Do you see this 90 year old expressing negativity? does he look sad?

  • @rwfresh "sadness is sad"

oxymoron. stress on the last syllable

"Do you see this 90 year old expressing negativity? does he look sad?"

    embarrassing non-sequitur

"if you prefer reality you should actively seek to know it and express it"

i do. every day. thanks for paying attention

" it is one hell of a dogma to become aware of and overcome"

nonsense. all i'm asking for is evidence to base your claims on or your beliefs. you haven't any.

  • FAR from being confused, never a day goes by where i don't learn something new. I'm older, but also wiser, and although i killed a lot of brain cells from drinking heavily in my 20s, I'm still a member of Mensa, and i know for sure i know more now than i did back then, i just forget more too

"I don't see a point why you should undermine people's beliefs"

because it's harmful. see whatstheharmDOTnet for thousands of examples

    "Let energy flow into you"

    you've described self delusion here

  • @ lennyhipp: "because it's harmful."

Exactly! That right there concludes my rationale. You're basically trying to give insight by providing facts. Thing is, not everybody thinks the same way; there will be those who agree and those who don't.

I do apologize if my previous posts insulted you in any way. But in the end, people believe what they want to believe without good reason to believe.

The truth along with the facts are sometimes downright offensive. Each to their own.

  • You seem like a nice guy, but no offense; I don't care enough about you to be offended by you. I always consider the source, especially on the internet. Life is too short to sweat the details and in the grand scheme of the universe, everything is an insignificant bit of dust

i agree, there's those who will agree, and those who won't. I'm not here to try to convince anyone they're wrong, i'm pointing out what they're taking as evidence, is only anecdotes and not evidence and very likely a trick

  • Thank you. I don't understand the momentum of Internet debates. (-:

I'm not into spirituality, but I try to find peace of mind. And when I saw the debate on this forum, I just wanted to maintain some sort of peace. Though this judgment strikes me as dogmatic of you, however, there's always room for re-evaluation.

    Take care.

  • "But in the end, people believe what they want to believe without good reason to believe."

Another wise comment... and i'm trying to get people to question their beliefs. I think the world would be MUCH better off if we DID base our world view on empirical evidence. with over a billion christians and over a billion muslims, i realize its not likely to happen any time soon! :)

Agreed for 3rd time: yes, sometimes the truth offends!

  • excuse please, but you seem old, bitter, and frustrated... what do you gain by spitting venom and attack what you don't understand?... hmh.. certainly much... you sure appeal to people.. yes of course...

do you live a happy life, pride of your success, appreciating life? have you achieved your goals? being a member of mensa must be a big achievement and acomplishment in life... one of yer goals.

  • I just want to point something out, because it looks like this argument between who is right and wrong is going to continue forever.

Eastern and Western Healing are two different healing practices. I'm not going to go into detail about this, as you may already know.

But, for people's sake, get a grip of yourselves. One of you relies on instinct; the other relies on logic and proof. Come on, once you go through an experience, it's really hard not to acknowledge that there is the possibility.

  • "Eastern and Western Healing are two different healing practices"

only one doesn't do any actual healing...

"once you go through an experience"

    self delusion and confirmation bias

"it's really hard not to acknowledge that there is the possibility"

i've acknowledged the possibility all along, i just see no empirical evidence for it, and i've looked for 24 yrs

  • Well if it's confirmation bias, I know I can't get you to fully agree to something that is against your belief.

But I can tell you that there are alternative ways of viewing the world. And most experiences come through the senses and mind; so emotion plays a big role here.

In reality, with no offense, confirmation bias can cloud our judgment. Sometimes self delusion can lead to frustration. There must be a reason for it all; false information can mislead people.

  • @lennyhipp if you prefer reality you should actively seek to know it and express it.

Where do you experience truth? In other people? in your own beliefs? In websites? In skepticism? Remain skeptical of skepticism, it is one hell of a dogma to become aware of and overcome.

  • Is this forum full of skeptics and ignorant life?

Maybe we're not at the same emotional level.

This is a good, meaningful & informative, video clip.

    Energy flow into you.

  • it is just full of one skeptic who is full of himself.

    good vid

  • For those interested, you should check out Robert W. Smith, in his article on the J.A.M.A regarding Yijinjing breathing and Qi cultivation. He also published work on Hsing I. Yijinjing is great, and practicing the breath work offered by treachers like Mantak Chia you will easily feel Qi in your hands and allow others to experience it.

  • I am only interested in results. If something works, then an explanation is really just an intellectual exercise.

  • ...and if it DOESN'T work? what then!? You're subject to confirmation bias and self delusion.

  • its worked already dipshit, see you later

  • oh how sweet, watching his movements pleases me

  • Part of the reason no one hears about these studies is because they are kept highly confidential by the Chinese government. Did the US give out a ton of how-to guides on making nukes when we had our weapon developed? No. China keeps it fairly secretive and don't often let non-government officials bear witness to it in action. They have government labs studying the phenomenon.

  • Actually, they have done studies of Qi. Read the book "Encounters with Qi" by Eisenberg sometime. I read it for a 300-some level college course on Anthropological Medicine. They have witnessed objects being moved from a distance without wind or anything assisting, as well as causing readings on a Geiger meter (used to measure radiation) to measure Qi fired from the hand, and even performing surgeries on people who have had no anesthetics, only a Qi master pointing at key acupuncture points.

  • what year are we in? my god

  • Year of the Tiger :)

  • And what the hell is this?

"nonsense! now you're describing self-delusion and confirmation bias! you know... the things that double blind testing would prevent!" ..WTF!? Man this is what I'm talking about, how much "self-delusion" some people have. Unbelievable... for fuck's sake, get it together ! Love you man, but fucking unbelievable, f#&%!

  • Comment removed

  • Man, some of the things you guys are debating is fucked up. Listen, when you experience something for yourself that's real for you and works for you in your life you don't need to get peer reviews or scientific whatever garbage for ANYONE but yourself. It's great if you can, but honestly you don't need to prove this stuff to anyone. Some of you guys need to get out from under your rocks and wake the fuck up. I love you guys too by the way, much love. One love. But WAKE the !#$% up!

  • Just like the directions themselves, East & West will always be at opposite ends. The West believes in science and western medicine, while the East believes in natural healing and herbal remedies. There is no need to prove or disprove anything here. Let the West believe in what they want to believe, while we in the East continue to practise what we believe in. Period. No point arguing.

  • Arguing? I'm not arguing I'm laughing and ridiculing. There's no empirical evidence for any of these silly things!

  • @lennyhipp well wether chi exists or not chi gong and tai chi are good exorsise and physiotherapy . also have you looked fore imperacle evadence

  • yes, i never doubt that tai chi and meditation are excellent for excercise and mental health and have great benefits. (i wish i had started exercising a long time ago) but... i draw the line when people make claims of being able to project energy or to heal others. I think it's not only loony, but dangerous. See whatstheharmDOTnet for 5K examples of what happens when people seek alternative medicines instead of proper care. many of them died.

  • What part are you having trouble with len? Meditation cause an increase in atibodies. Meditation increases grey matter in the brain. Monks can cause an increase in body temp. Ice crystals can be changed with chi energy. What else do you need? Stay tuned!!!!!!!!

  • got any empirical evidence to back any of those claims?! the ice crystals i know for sure is 100% bullshit. every time claims such as these have been tested they've failed. WHY do you suppose that is?! There's no such thing as chi energy, not that can be projected or to heal any way.

  • you and others can google the following.

The Nishino Breathing Method and Ki-energy (Life-energy): A Challenge to Traditional Scientific Thinking

  • THANK YOU for that. I was feeling a bit depressed and was in need of a hearty laugh. It was in the guise of a scientific paper but was no more than a report filled with confirmation bias. the scientific method wasn't employed, and the protocols didn't include double blind studies and no steps were taken to remove bias. In fact, it seemed like a rather obtuse advertisement for his website! You're pretty funny if you think this constitutes evidence that ki can be projected!

  • sprinkle in keywords like quantum physics and "negative entropy" (whatever the fuck THAT means!) and you'll have lemmings lining up to believe like unthinking moths around a flame. See

watch?v=3s-kZfmxBIo for an example of what is happening in the "tests" The people move because they WANT to move!

PLEASE present an actual peer reviewed paper published in a credible peer reviewed journal

Also, Nishino is eligible for the JREF million for replicating the "test" under controlled conditions

  • you make me fall off my chair with some of your comments, double blind studies, peer reviewed papers? no scientific method wasn't employed. wake up boy!!

I gave you what you need. Peer reviewed B.S.? did the fda approve a drug based on made up reports not that long ago, Peer reviewed is BOGUS. JREF can't be won. GET over it. And I'm pretty sure Nishino has better things in life than to play Randi's game

  • wow you're a fucking idiot. Did the people who faked the reports suffer serious repercussions? do you seriously think these well-respected the world over journals don't have other scientists in other countries attempting to replicate these experiments!? use your head! the JREF prize is a legally binding contract you moron!

Nishino couldn't donate the million in prize money to a needy charity? what a selfish prick he is! surely a burn center or children's hospital could use the dough!

  • Fucking Idiot you say! I'll knock your head off asshole. Did they suffer repercussions. NOPE! Do you think science would give a rats ass? do you think they can make money off chi? nope! get your head out of your ass. See bandershots video's as I said before. JREF can't be won

  • Double blind studies are known to be manipulated by the people FUNDING the study. LOL. Most scientists are nothing more than puppets being funded by governments that control the entire scientific process. Peer reviews are BS and a way to control information. Anything the government funds, backs, or says, I discredit immediately.

  • wow you're a dolt. if they're going to fudge the data, WHY WOULD THEY go thru the trouble of doing a double blind study? It's to eliminate the chance of confirmation bias to the subject! DUH! Also, thanks for paying attention, but double blind studies isnt the only thing i asked for, far from it! I asked for EMPIRICAL evidence published in peer reviewed respectable journals. We're not talking about govt funds, we're talking about testing something that should be self-evident... only it's not.

  • Anyone can screw with data thats the point. On either side. Experience this stuff for yourself is the only way to truly know. Good luck though.

  • "Experience this stuff for yourself is the only way to truly know"

nonsense! now you're describing self-delusion and confirmation bias! you know... the things that double blind testing would prevent!

  • your birthday?

  • ok, so if i hit you in the head with a rock you are going to need a double blind study to prove if it was real or not??? LMFAO!!!

  • when the student is ready the teacher will appear. if you satisfied with your answer then perhaps you have asked the rite question, and you need not bother any one any more for you have the answer you are looking for, and should go be happy with it. if you are not satisfied with the answers ask better questions. there are different masters, question, styles, and answers but they all arrive at the same point and come from the same source.

  • wow... that was a bunch of gibberish. No, i'm not satisfied with the answers i'm getting! I'll ask again: Why hasn't anyone EVER shown to have such abilities when properly tested for? WHY has everyone claiming such things fails miserably when controls are placed?

same point and same source? please!

  • i can not answer your question beyond what i have already said from my own experience. i would imagine though that no one practices hard enough or with the proper guidance to be a proficient taijichuan fighter today.

the way i view these practices, or exhibitions is much like when some one uses a small model science project to support the idea of potential in that field of study. however in the case tai chi it is showing some remnants of what was probably once possible for the old masters.

  • watch the vid of johnny chang. he is tested by scientists from the us. Actually if you bothered to research, there have been numerous such studies published in the US even. However other interests such as allopathic medicine r great in influence and general western skepticism so great that not a whole lot of info on this stuff gets out. And lots of the ppl getting exposure r frauds.

  • BULLSHIT. chang was "tested" by:

    1) Cooke: the president of the Mind Science Foundation, not only NOT a scientist, but they endorse complete nonsense such as global consciousness and had ZERO interest in showing him to be a fraud

    2) Nilsen: a medical dr, NOT a scientist

    3) one of chang's own students! WHY even mention him?

    4) Simpson: wow! hey! finally an actual scientist! They also lied: there is no Albert Einstein University in New York. He wasn't shown on film commenting on chang.

  • um you mean the albert einstein college that doesn't exist @ 500west 185th st newyork, NY? Did u even bother to google the place to see if its real??? Lenny, i respect your quest for empirical evidence but you do realize there are many things that are legitimate forces that we cannot at this time detect with mechanical instruments? at one time no one knew of radiation because it was invisible, then bam xrays and geiger counters came along. But for thousands of years who knew?

  • um no, i mean "Albert Einstein University" as they claim in the video you disingenuous wannabe sleuth! Google is precisely the reason i knew it DIDNT exist thank you very much!

As far as not being able to detect something with instruments, it's irrelevant: You DONT need to do that to have empirical evidence it exists under controlled conditions... Also, tests can EASILY be designed so that the results are self-evident. Either they can do the feats under controlled conditions, or they cannot

  • google again bro, google again. I think u r arguing just cuz yr bored. U replied to this thing so fast i really wonder. Are u overweight by anychance?
