The only reason it wasn't as much was because the cities being fought over were not in major Christian lands. I also didn't like that they made the peace terms at the end of KoH so nice. Balian bought the freedom of as many Jerusalem citizens as he could, but many were still enslaved by the Saracen army.

@asukez Saladin's army enslaved about half of the population in Jerusalem when they reclaimed it. That was everyone that Balian could not purchase. Death and enslavement in that time were more or less equal, and some would say that enslavement is a much worse fate to have. Saladin was a great man, but he wasn't as benevolent as the movie makes him out to be. And that's fine because that was socially acceptable at the time.

Everyone tells a different story, but after studying many writings, the truth is highly likely that about half maybe a little more were released, and the rest were enslaved, as custom dictated. In such as that, agreeing to disagree gives a balance that all can stand equally on without conflict that leads to extremes. It is words, though, that I referred to, words that incite anger and flare hatreds beyond reasoning over something so easily ignored as a difference. If we simply agreed to disagree and got on with life, at least in religion and politics and such things ... life would be infinitely more tolerable.

Jesus (pbuh) never claimed to be God he clearly states in the Bible that he is nothing more than a prophet:
(John 5:30-31) "I can of mine own self do nothing; as I hear I judge; and my judgment is just because I seek not my own will but the will of the father who has sent me. If I bear witness of myself my witness is not true"
(Mark, 13:32) "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father."

(John 8:58) Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!"
(John 10:24) "I and the Father are one."
And Jesus forgave sins which only God could do. (Mark 2:5-11)
Explain to me that if Jesus was just a prophet, why would he sate these things?
Jesus did not know when the end was because he had not been elevated to his full glory because he had not been ressurected yet.

I don't believe all Muslims are bad, but the problem is that the extremists have chosen to base their life off of Mohammed rather than Allah. This would not be an issue as long as the prophet had led a more humble lifestyle attune to someone like Prince Buddha or Jesus, yet instead he was a warrior and a conquerer. If you base your life off of that example, then the terrorist acts committed on 9/11 could be viewed as justified in your eyes.
Once this way of life dies off, peace will be forged.

I agree with you--not all Muslims are bad, but i don't agree that the Muslims' Prophet ordered to kill and plunder. He didn't teach extremism. He taught that killing one person is like killing all of humanity and helping one person is like helping humanity. He said life should be preserved, and not just Muslim life but all life. God knows why those extremists kill in the name of Islam--but its def not on his orders (from what i have studied of Islam).

It was not peaceful conversion; but forceful and sometimes extremely brutal methods of drawing more people to the faith. This is not my opinion but historical fact, so arguing with it is bordering on outright denial. Like I said before, neither Buddha nor Jesus or even Hindu authorities advocated violence. The problem is that Islam has no second covenant under which peace is the exclusive path.

There are ways out of it. Always is there a choice. Always. However, in light of the fact there is a difference of views on how much is too much, I revert to my comment posted earlier.
