I made the same mistake. When I started it, I thought it was too wet, so I let it dry out. I then noticed that I went from lots of worms down to maybe a few dozen. I had to rush to put in lots of food and thankfully my numbers didn't deplete completely. I am getting back up there
Nice. Good save. By the time I realized what happened with this bin, it was too late to save any. I realized the mistake I made and wont' do it again.
Shouldn't you soak the newspaper BEFORE you place them in the worm bin? And where is your coconut coir?

@totallogic76 Can spray down the newspaper. No coconut coir was used in this bin.

Gotta reuse it all. My roommate was gonna toss it out. No need for that.

@CanarsieBK I only buy that brand now and keep the containers for storage or even seedlings

Word up. I have some for storage and food scraps.

@jihadacadien LMAO I use that too. Aren't those things so awesome!! I've used them for plant containers too (small herbs).

I think you needed to wet the newspaper a bit. I'm trying out on my worm bin the second round myself. good Luck

I think the mistake was that too many coffee grinds were put it with not enough dry stuff to balance it out. The new bin is doing much better.
