WOW! I am completely horrified! While it is not a surprise to me that they were having this discussion about Jordin, for this lady to say that she should not win AI based on her weight only solidifies the false standards of beauty in our society, where a woman has to look very thin not only to be considered beautiful, but for ignorant people like this blond chick to even recognize far more important qualities like real talent. Everything that came out of that woman's mouth is just wrong.

How can that woman say such thing? Like many of you said, Jordin Sparks is a model figure to prove just how a normal teenage girl can have the oportunity to shine in the music industry. A person should not be judged by statistics of weight, height, or any physical features. The one who has a health issue in this matter is the overarrogant blode chick who tries to convey people in a false matter.

Look at Jordin! She is absolutely GORGEOUS. She's not a size 2, but SO? As a teen girl myself, I was so excited 2 c her win AI mostly because of the type of role model she is. She represents beauty in a HEALTHY way. When I look at her, I see undeniable beauty that most peeps think only size 0's can achieve. M should consider the rising # of eating disorders going around b4 she calls a stunning, normal-sized teen grl obese. I think it's healthier 2 be thick and muscled than a bobblehead.

Its just the way i was raised, i've eaten meat before when i was at camp because otherwise I would have to skip a meal it wasn't terrible I just prefer to aviod it.

(cont.) Do I think kids should take more steps to be healthy? Yes, but out of their own will. Saying they can't have any of that shit food is more destructive if anything. You think all food doesn't have negative effects on the body? Eating salds and fruits all day is no way to live, and all those foods can also take their toll on the body (albeit less than fried chicken, but it's the principle of the matter).

Besides, even if they did get rid of snack machines and delicious battered and deep-fried goodness, do you honestly think that is going to effect how kids eat off school grounds? Hell, they could still bring in a bag of chips or whatever from home.

I do not like Meme roth and I agree that the option should be left there but for people like me who have to eat food from the caf every day should at least get a decent healthy option. Ok I'm a Vegetarian how ever the Salads they have at school all have meat in them and the fruit salads are imfamous for giving people terrible indigestion. So I tried picking off the chicken from the salads but often the salad had gone bad because people didn't buy them enough

Yes, America's youth is blimping up at an alarming rate, however that doesn't mean we should try to deny them the right to eat what they want, exercise as much (or as little) as they want, etc. At my campus we still have our soda machines that I, among others, visit every day to get a bottle of Mountain Dew, Pepsi, or whatever we decide what we are in the mood for.

Regardless of the influence that Jordin may have on America's youth, attempting to say that she is at a higher risk for diabetes and heart disease is really a cowardly move on anyone's part. Saying you look at her and see unhealthiness and the like is like me looking at a gay guy and saying I see AIDS and a sore asshole (or a dirty dick, depending on what end he's on, but that is beside the point).

I don't care if she says she's an expert...she's just plain mean. Geez, I can't believe there are women like that. Jordan may be bigger but doesn't make her unhealthy. I mean, I'M more likely to get diabetes than her (my family has a history for it) but because I'm skinny does that make me healthy?
One of my closest friends suffered Anorexia and it's because of annoying people like this who try to say that skinny=succesful, beautiful, healthy and perfect. Thank god that man has sense

I think this is really stupid. I know a girl who is larger than me but she is much healthier than me. I am skinnier than her but she plays heaps of sports and well me...I'm Indian so I'm naturally small:P

I mean if you are 400 pounds, ok that's unhealthy, but you don't have to be a twig. Skinny people have heart disease and diabetes. Skinny people have nutirtion problems too.
