man I love this engine, but I cannot understand how it is 1:12 scale but yet still is big. I have a 1:12th scale RC truck and there is no way that this would fit under the hood. lol how do you measure the scale?
Well the motor is only about 4 inches long & the Cirrus range were early aircraft engines which were often 50 inches or more total length. Never designed to fit trucks or cars
ok cool, I just thought of a 1/12th scale v8 and thought of like a small truck or car. I didnt know what a Cirrus engine was to begin with so that probably through me off. (the prop should have clicked in my head but it didnt. lol) I imagine that those engines are alot larger than a standard small block v8.
sweet motor, i can see a lot of time went into it.
Oh thats rich Richard! The Rossi is quality. Better than any old ASP/SC or whatever! Nah its my garage anyway, you dont think he could of run this succesfully on his own do you!!Ha Ha
Its just the low resolution video & oil on the leads makes them look like they are sparking. Its a glow plug engine so once its running & warm there is no power in the leads. I know cos its me running the engine & filming.
No there isn't any need at all for a v8. Thgis one is only 4cc total capacity for all 8 cylinders & doesn't even have a throttle! Its just got 4 venturis & needle valves & the revs pick up as I lean the mixture out.Its really made as an exercise in model engineering & not really for using.A single cylinder 4 cc glow 2 stroke is probably a third the weight & twice the power. Just doesn't have the wow factor that a v8 has!
Generally these are home built from scratch. The onle place i know that makes and sells them is conley precision. And theirs are 1/4 scale. And they cost more than alot of full size cars.
That is nothing short of amazing!

I would be interested if you made a version for car use. It sounds fucking awesome, and that sound would mate nicely with the NTC3 I have.

I remember back in the day you could get plans for small v8's etc for the RC hobbies. Often wondered if anyone was still messing around with them :)

JimboD1965 3 years ago
fair enough that would make more sense than the wires sparking.
i have 4 nitro rc cars myself an 6 electric
i know how essentially its just a mini diesel engine.
Is there any real need for a torquey V8?

Is it all hand crafted or are there 'store-bought' parts in it? Is it a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke? Air cooled I assume.
JGMagoo 3 years ago
were are you buy this engine?
bernidani2 3 years ago
Look at the sparks coming of the ignition wires.
It might run a bit better if you fix the wireing.
Otherwise a realy cool engine, nice job.
