There would be an entire population of similar organisms that his fictional creature would be able to mate with, passing on its presumably favorable genes to the next generation. Assuming these genes were favored, they would continue to become more common within this population.

A good explanation though is to see that the Bible is the history of the hebrews apart from the nations. The creation story deas mentions two different stories for man's creation. One could assert that the first one was mankind in general and the second was Adam. It could be explained that way without losing any integrity in the story.

I've been to the same museum. They have lots of nice fossils, and they have examples of evolution in reprpduction, true. But they reproduced from other fossils. Not to mention Ray's understanding of evolution is so ridiculous, no one could believe it.

@XjmedX evolution is not a religion as it does not require faith in the untangible. it also doesn'T state where the origin of life is. the theory of evolution starts with simple life forms (bacterias or the likes) and goes from there. The beginning of life theory is called abiogenesis which contains many plausible and non-magical hypothesis. Darwin taught that there were no limits to biological variation and that, if given enough time, a fish could evolve into a human being. Several factors: I believe the God of the Bible-I can see human beings are more than just flesh-history shows us humanity has had contacts with what we label "ghosts"(hunted houses etc) proof that a "non physical world exists" therefore, God(a spirit) exists. When I look into the eyes of a baby, I know there is life inside that baby that is beyond physical. The connection that some twins, mothers and loved ones have had even when not together physically, and my own life.

There is certainly something strange about matter being conscious that seems to transcend the flesh or brain, but that doesn't mean that the god of the Bible is the explanation. Even if ghosts exist (which they probably don't; by the same standards of evidence you'd have to believe in goblins, psychics, witches, alien abductions, astrology, fairies, etc.) it doesn't prove anything about the creator of the universe's properties.
Overall, subjective consciousness is an eerie, mysterious sensation we are still trying to grasp mechanically. We may never understand its properties fully. But to ascribe it to your particular set of religious beliefs isn't a valid conclusion. Consciousness doesn't prove that we survive our own deaths, because there is no evidence of an afterlife, only mere speculation. It only proves that we are conscious. Why can't our experiences end if they started?
@Ledwix God gives faith, it belongs to Him, but we respond to it and make it part of our lives. What I read in the Bible I get to see and experience in real life. I see the sun everyday and marvel at the precise location of it in refence to the earth, also the moon, and say to myself: "There is no way, such strategic placing of a star like the sun in proximity to the earth came about out of sheer chance!!" The odds of that resulting from an explosion are astronomical!!

Assuming these genes were favored, they would continue to become more common within this population.

A good explanation though is to see that the Bible is the history of the hebrews apart from the nations. The creation story deas mentions two different stories for man's creation. One could assert that the first one was mankind in general and the second was Adam. It could be explained that way without losing any integrity in the story.

@XjmedX evolution is not a religion as it does not require faith in the untangible. it also doesn'T state where the origin of life is. the theory of evolution starts with simple life forms (bacterias or the likes) and goes from there. The beginning of life theory is called abiogenesis which contains many plausible and non-magical hypothesis. Darwin taught that there were no limits to biological variation and that, if given enough time, a fish could evolve into a human being. Mendel, on the other hand, showed that there are natural limits to biological variations. I don't have anything against Americans, but I can't help but to pity Ray Comfort, that believes there is some kind of relation between religion and state. "God bless America" is one of the most fallacious sentences ever said, because a) god may not exist; b) if he exists, who knows what the §%/" he blesses anyway?
So, this idea that Americans have a god given right to worship is offensive in political, legal and even religious terms (as americans are not better nor worse that any other peoples)

What we know in this life is that the brain activity is responsible for producing this eerie, conscious identity, the self. What reason or evidence do you have to support the claim that once the brain dies, the self survives, and what are the properties of that self beyond brain death?

Several factors: I believe the God of the Bible-I can see human beings are more than just flesh-history shows us humanity has had contacts with what we label "ghosts"(hunted houses etc) proof that a "non physical world exists" therefore, God(a spirit) exists. When I look into the eyes of a baby, I know there is life inside that baby that is beyond physical. The connection that some twins, mothers and loved ones have had even when not together physically, and my own life.

There is certainly something strange about matter being conscious that seems to transcend the flesh or brain, but that doesn't mean that the god of the Bible is the explanation. Even if ghosts exist (which they probably don't; by the same standards of evidence you'd have to believe in goblins, psychics, witches, alien abductions, astrology, fairies, etc.) it doesn't prove anything about the creator of the universe's properties.

Overall, subjective consciousness is an eerie, mysterious sensation we are still trying to grasp mechanically. We may never understand its properties fully. But to ascribe it to your particular set of religious beliefs isn't a valid conclusion. Consciousness doesn't prove that we survive our own deaths, because there is no evidence of an afterlife, only mere speculation. It only proves that we are conscious. Why can't our experiences end if they started?

I see the sun everyday and marvel at the precise location of it in refence to the earth, also the moon, and say to myself: "There is no way, such strategic placing of a star like the sun in proximity to the earth came about out of sheer chance!!" The odds of that resulting from an explosion are astronomical!!
