  • Used to be a massive Runrig fan, being a Sgianach. Saw them for 1st time at 14- had 1st pint in Camanachd same night. But.........................this is an appalling version of a Dylan classic.

  • Great Song with Powerful Lyrics

  • maybe they are

  • I`ve never heard this one before either, tnx!

  • This is from a period where Runrig did REALLY good B sides to their singles. If you haven't looked at the B sides, have a good look there are quite a few tracks which don't appear on anything else (except on the bonus CD with certain Long Distance albums)

  • The line it is drawn

    The curse it is cast

  • TOTALLY BRILLIANT !!!

This is the Best cover version I have ever herd of this song.......

with Richie Havens a VERY close second!!

  • love it!!! culture mix here(me)!

  • The times . . . was one of their extras some years ago. It's releashed on a special limited edition CD from BBC Music. The album is called "The archive series" - BBC session and live at Royal Albert Hall, Glasgow '96

  • @VinceDjansen Also as a b-side to News From Heaven.

  • @RunrigFan But only on the 12 inch and CD versions - never managed to get either sadly, its one of the few things that my Runrig vinyl collection is missing, along with Protect and Survive on CD

  • @ratcliffe22 Ive got both the 12 inch Version and a limited edition Pi=cture Disk but the Picture Disk is a little warped

  • what album is this song on?

  • Do you know than Sony refuse to me ( to my country, Canada) the right to listen this song cover by Tracey Chapman ??!!

I don't know why and they don't explain why they do that. They just take it off of my quicklist or playlist etc

Is there someone who know why they do that ?? Vevo did the same last month and now it's Sony.... Maybe they don't like people living in Quebec, Canada... coz people speak french?? It's really frustrating because i pay for buying the Chapman's CD's !!!

  • @revelrot Not only in Canada, also in Germany.

  • had serious potential but the friggen background muxic is so loud i can barely here the lyrics.

  • Whoa...I was listening to a bunch of Runrig, then I wanted to listen to this song, so I typed it in.

I didn't know Runrig did this song...when this came up, I was like, "YES".

  • i prefer Bob Dylan's

  • Excellent. Strangely applicable to modern day Scotland .

  • This was a favourite song of mine when I was younger (runrig's cover, not the original), and the song does seem to run strong parallels with recent scottish history.

  • @wallace500001 Yet a Bob Dylan song lol.

  • I had no idea they did this song even though my dads cousin is married to their producer

  • this was better than phil collins's version and it was cool that they said ministers rather than senators and congressmen

  • this is brill i lov the song...can anybody tell me if bruce has sung this with runrig...cauce i,m a brucie babe.....soz donnie..lol..x

  • Never heard this song before! Thanks for sharing!

  • saw them sing this for the first time at irvine magnum centre,su fuckin perb live great version of this song

  • I'm mad for Runrig--didn't know they did this song and I have to say it's a rousing version of the Dylan classic! Thanks so much for posting...now on to forward it to me darlin' daughter (who "discovered" the band and made me a fan).
