He became just a puppet, dont u see .... Ok, let say Obama will divide/separate USA into 10 small countries, after that he travel to china to live there and sometime he will celebrate separation of USA ... Will americans accept that as an good idea?
Gorbachev is perhaps one of the greatest person in recent history. He transformed communist Europe..he achieved a task that the Europe & West could only have ever dreamed off..We owe the end of Socialism and the cold war to this great Russian..Who could have imagined the Soviets voluntary withdraw from Afghanistan, freedom for East block countries, the fall of the Berlin wall, etc
Putin has managed to get the country back to its' feet after a huge crisis in the 90s, both economically and politically - that's a fact and Gorbachev just aknowledges it. Gorbachev threatenned ? -lol ! He ran much bigger risk of assasination when he started the progressive reforms many years ago.
So you're saying that Russia is a free polity even though the government controls the media and most of the executive branch is staffed by ex-KGB (including Putin)? We know Yeltsin bribed his way to re-election. Putin is even more ruthless. Putin's "extra" powers are real and not simply influence over his puppet Medvedev. Russia has never been a law-based state which is why the constitutional separation of powers is here rendered meaningless. Lay off "Russia Today." Maybe you'll learn something.
Dictatorship, which is what Russia had during the tsarist period, the communist period, and also what it has had during the Putin period, is antithetical to modernization. Why won't Gorbachev call a spade a spade? Maybe because he wants to be relevant? Or maybe because he longs to see the return of the Soviet empire, which is what Putin seems to be pursuing.
You've never lived in Russia and you've never cracked a history book by the looks of it. You're either a fool who admires communism (because you've never personally experienced communism) or you're a KGB "rezident" spy and disinformation campaigner trying to spread lies and manipulate people.
I've lived under Communist and Democratic governments. The truth is, there is more freedom in Communist community. Your society feeds you with a bunch of bullshit about Communist govenrment, so that you will take a credit from a bank and work everyday to stay alive. You will never understand it, because if you haven't seen other shoes, domestic ones are the best.
You've lived in North Korea? Because that's the only country with an operative communist system in your lifetime. Here's a question: if communism is desirable and better than the alternatives, why was it necessary to limit emigration - travel even - from communist states? Why was it necessary to build the Berlin Wall? Why was it necessary to lie to the citizenry about events that happened in the past and the present? More to the point, why was communism always imposed and not adopted?
Thank you MiaRossa for posting this very important piece. I am dismayed at some of the personal attacks you have recieved for posting this video. By the way, you are extremely beautiful looking, and your channel shows that your beauty is much more than skin deep. Thanks again.
When Gorbachev sais what US like- he is good guy, when he sais something different even though it is truth you insult him. Hahaha- "freedom of speach"
and as far as i see..you have not so much people commenting your stupid video..and you need someone to argue my old mermaid... go to stylist and cut your greezy hair..it will make you younger instead of sitting here and "commenting comments"..lol
hmmm.. i guess that's you who should grow up...lol..do you really think anyone here interested about YOURs thoughts or political interests? that's funny..you would like to be a mistery?? for whom?? hey..that's the infantilizm feature..you think such face you put near your comments may belong to mysterious woman?? looool...calm down and relax :)
When war broke out during the Olympics, the world may have seen the start of a dangerous new era.
After two decades of waning influence, Russia was back and in an aggressive mood. Are we at the beginning of new Cold War?
For months,FOX News correspondent Dana Lewis has investigated the rise of Russia from the inside, while Steve Harrigan reports from the front lines of the hot war in Georgia.

You never lived in Russia. There wasn't a dictatorship there under Communist government. Putin is not a dictator. lol
There is a dictatorship in Europe and USA, in the last 40-50 years Russia has been a free country where money can buy freedom...

I admire Gorbachev for stopping the cold war. Unfortunately, the current US president has decided to begin a new one, and put Europe into troubles.
