  • woah look at the ceiling when it leaves the rotators look cool

  • God I love the sound of the house tones!

  • why do the truck pull out of the station then everybody gets in just curious?

  • @queenace2451 the members control vehcile & person traffic while the rig exits the building

  • dude those lights are awesome :D XD man i wish out engine lit up like that

  • that thing is ridiculously bright haha badass

  • i like the lights under the truck when the doors open lol

  • seems like the LED's r brighter than da strobes

  • @joek0617 yes, LEDs are brighter than a strobe will ever be if used properly

  • 1 there is no point to run all that ends up in is getting hurt and second you dont know what time of day this is they could of been in the middle of dinner that would slow response and 9 time out of 10 when it and ems run and your in an engine your usually getting called for something stupid so subconsciously your moving slower cause ya really dont wanna go

  • @freeportkid Then quit the job. This is the typical mindset. Be happy you do EMS runs because if you weren't, there would be fewer of you. One day you'll all get your heads out of you ass and figure it out. You're probably one of the ones who owes his job to somebody who lost theirs on 9/11. Just do what you are paid to do and stop bitching about it.

  • @devildoc225 your statement makes very little sense considering I never said I was part of FDNY I was just defending them and stating facts if you hear fully involved fire your move quicker if you hear an EMS run your probably moving slower because your almost always just there for manpower thats why they have ambulances. I am a firefighter but not for the city of New York so i'm pretty sure I didn't get my job from 9/11

  • @freeportkid No, CFR companies are there for patient care. CPR has changed lately if you aren't aware. You need more people to make it effective.

  • Light Up like a Christmas Tree!

  • Wow.. I thought Engine 23 was beautiful, this one probably looks even better!

  • you my friend are a textbook buff

  • buffs should not be allowed to film inside the firehouse!

  • that turnout and most others I've seen from FDNY was SLOW. They should have more pride than that. Companies in other departments, taking more runs than they are, turn out a lot faster than this company did. They're not showing us much here. Check out many other big cities to see what I mean.

  • @landslave I don't think it's a lack of pride. It's unfair to judge the largest, and arguably the most prestigious fire department in America, based on this one of 5,000 runs engine 3 does every year, and the few dozen others posted on youtube.

  • I love and respect all firefighters here in the U.S. and around the world, but you gotta admit there are no bigger badasses than the FDNY! They are truly one of a kind....

  • wtf at 1:04 lol

  • i found it very upsetting that due to NY city regulations, firetrucks are only allowed the EQ2Bs rather than the original Q..what is this world coming to..

  • @Froggo2103 You cant have Q's in NYC, the echo off the buildings would be deafening and way to much noise pollution.

  • @jsncrso A bunch of companies buy their own Q's and rig them up their selves, I know one company that hooked up a train horn to their rig, they use it if the air horn just isnt cutting it

  • @livezeppelin that was on most of the older fdny rigs, the new rigs have the electronic q siren- and until the manufactures warranty is expired, as far as i know, the companies were advised not to make any changes, especially in terms of the siren- very few of the new rigs have had any extra sirens put on

  • Did u just happen to be filming then? Or had the pre-tones already dropped?

  • dayum...that truck is nice! Love the emergency lights, especially the combination of LEDs and halogen rotators.

  • Damn that must have been expensive!

  • @sharkey500 but its worth it

  • Really nice rig

  • I love the step lights

  • It's an E-Q2B.

  • love the lights

  • holey fucking shit a fdny engine with a q very nice

  • Wow !!! What a beautiful truck.Lights are bright too.If anyone says they didn't see the lights then they should stand on the corner with a cup, sunglasses and pencils.

  • was it west 20 or west 12?

  • Sure take their sweet time getting out. 2+ minutes. Hope you guys never have to come put out my house fire. My engine company gets out faster then that for a medical local.

  • @dankohner1 Hey the FDNY are the BEST of the BEST!

  • @dankohner1

    Are you FDNY?

  • @m173627 No, but I'm a firefighter for a fire department.

  • LOL

"The who? The shoe? No I mean the Q. The siren? Yeah. EHHhhh It's a little loud in quarters. No No I mean OUTSIDE."

  • @m173627

LOL, I love that quote too ^_^

  • @m173627 Had us rolling laughing, the "the shoe" about killed me when he said it.

  • @m173627 that kid is def from PA hahaha wacckker wackker waaackker

  • Hey FL92002, Can you tell me the difference between a Seagrave and an E-one?

  • yeah rotorays would be nice.

  • they seems to love the new seagraves

  • wow..epileptic ciezure..haha..that lightbar is pretty interesting.

  • @jmaxwell30

Yeah, it's the first time since the late 80's that the FDNY has put federal signal products on the roof of their trucks. These are mini Aerodynics, and the outermost lights have been replaced with rotators, while all the inner lights are red and white LED's.

  • @doranduh

interesting setup i must say , kinda neat kinda weird at the same time, also extra weird to see raised roofs on an fdny engine, kinda miss the flat roof look ha but oh well truck is still awesome

  • Yeah, it is a little odd. The Rotators probably saved them like 160 bucks on the lighting, which doesn't really matter. They're a pretty nice touch. And the raised roof is different, but maybe they just wanted change? I dunno, it's all interesting.

  • i guess they put the rotating outside lights to kinda keep the tradition going with the old lights they used to put on the engines..

  • @company17firefighter i think they did it for the intersections cause the rotating light on the corner makes a better alley light then an led

  • There new Seagraves engines are the Marauder II . The FDNY has some beautiful new engines. I agree with you on wanting to hear the Q siren , even if it's the electronic Q. Great video.

  • I Beleive they use EQ2B's . . .I think, im from Pittsburgh not NY

  • EQ2B,s are the electronic version of the mechanical Federal Q2B

  • What a beautiful truck !!! Man,enough lights there. Can't say you don't see that truck with all those lights.Nice Video.

  • FDNY trucks are unique with their signature horns, and EQ2Bs are gonna need getting use to. It would be cool if FDNY used more of Federal Signal Aerodynic LED lightbars and 3 watt LEDs on the sides and have those cool new LED rotorays like some fire departments have.

  • very slow reaction time

  • Yeah but you got to remember that their stations are incredibly close to each other when compared to other big city departments. Therefore it takes these guys 1 minute to get to a call rather than 2-4 minutes.

  • Awesome truck!

  • that is one sexy ass fire truck :P

  • Without them russhing here at CCFD (Las Vegas) our average response time is 6 1/2 minutes....

  • in manhattan alone there are 49 fire stations covering just 17 square miles.. do the math thats about 3 stations a square miles... in most towns theres only 1 within a square mile

  • ... if you're lucky you have one every square mile. Think about the rural areas where the closest FD wont arrive for 5 to 15 minutes and the second alarm is 45 minutes. STAY SAFE!

  • why is it that they dont even rush to go out on a call, we are usually out of our station within 60 seconds of the call coming in

  • that BEEEDOOO dispatch tone just became my ringtone

  • how'd you do that?

  • Myxer tones

  • Bright as hell! Im sorry, but if you can't see that coming down the street at night, you're just a dumbass then haha

  • hi im doing a little research im not a firefigther or anything im thinking that the equipmnet that is used around here is inadaquated which equipment brand do you prefer ? e-one pierce or seagrave? and how does a fire department does to buy one of this trucks. i will lilke for you to help me thanks

  • Seagrave makes some awesome trucks and engines...

  • Seagraves the best but very expensive just followed by pierce which have the contender series very reliable and cheeper for the smaller depts

  • I love the new rigs. They look a little more bulky. I hate the new sirens but like the new cab light bars.

  • its some funny how in ny they have to walk out and stop traffic

  • do the new rigs still have wig wag head lights???

  • Yes. Just pretty fast wig wags

  • To thebleedenator: Thanks for answering that question for me too, the one with the trucks exiting the building. I always thought because it was the way its parked in the bay that only the driver and passengers to the driverside of the truck could get in but due to a tight spot on the rightside they had to wait til the truck pulls out. Now, I have a question for you to answer also. The new lightbars that are on top in the front, are they half rotators, half LEDs?

  • They are LEDs

  • The center one is all LEDs and the two outter ones are center facing LEDs and outter facing rotators for the intersections. It proved to be more efficient in both warning and cost. The model is the Aerodyinc from Federal Signal.

  • engine 266 in rockaway now has that rig

  • yeah, i like it way better than 268

  • So glad they got the EQ2B. Most NY rigs have that terrible squealy siren with the quick wind-down.

  • they're PA300s.

  • FDNY is phasing out PA300's and starting to move for eQ2b's

  • Hooray! Go the EQ2B!

  • nice i see these guys everyday right there on w.19th right by my school...love this truck i here the Q everyday

  • Question... I have noticed that in the videos of FDNY responding to a call that they guys riding in the rear always get on after the Engine/Truck exits the building... Why? I'm sure there is a good reason but where I work we have to be in a belted before the Driver even takes the parking break off...

  • they have to stop people from walking in front of the bay when the engine/truck comes out...

also, they stop traffic and make sure the company doors close behind them.

  • Ok that makes since... I was kinda thinkin that after looking at some other videos...

  • COOL!

  • What a beautiful truck. Lucky Engine 3 :D

  • wow i have never seen a FDNY raised cab engine!

  • nice truck. great lights too

  • new leds light up the city!

  • A raised roof in NYC that is new.

  • I love how he actually has to turn the wheel to get out the door...I've seen this truck in action personally...most recently at a fire on 17th street where a family of 5 was killed.

  • "The Q?" Reminded me of Backdraft.

"Did you get your second lead out?"

    "What?"

    "Your second lead out."

"What the fuck you talking about, get outta here."

  • i guess the e-qb2 is gonna be a new standard siren in the fdny

  • ya i think its good better than the other crap they use and i heard they cant use federal q because people complain but e qb2 is close

  • they have a new engine 40 also,i saw running by

  • nice video!

  • Pretty Slow Response But nice video

  • Great video, nice rig. They definitely do things different in New York in terms of getting going on a run. In Dallas we're going to mostly LED's, with only two strobes on the front, located on the cab right above the headlight, we've dubbed them as, "Dallas Strobes". LED's are nice, but I am still partial to rotaters and strobes/flashers.

  • Nice truck. Bet it wouldn't have taken them 2 minutes to get out the door for a building fire.

  • holy shat thats bright.

  • I went ahead and saw the new deliveries on the Seagrave website for FDNY, they used Federal Signal lightbars along with Whelen LED lightheads and rear LED Whelen Liberty. Pretty cool setup IMO

  • I love that they've gone to federal signal again, as I love the aerodynic. BUT I really wonder why the two outtermost flashers on each side of the cab are regular rotating flashers instead of LEDs. I just think it's kindof odd.

  • An all LED lighting package, while absurdly bright is too overkill in a city, and LED light simply doesnt have the reach of a simple halogen flasher that can reach an intersection quicker than its LED counterpart, a combination of the two proved to be a more practical and effective lighting package.

  • ohhh, thatnks, that really clears things up and makes sense +D

  • No problem

  • Looks sweet though

  • Yeah, straight LED warning packages are not perfect. A combination like this is much better/more effective! As soon as the LED fad dies down a bit I'm sure folks will get back to halogen rotators again. Ya just can't beat them!!

  • doranduh is right...The outermost flashers are rotaters. Looks pretty cool.

  • very nice video keep it going ....cam id steady and imy eyes dont hurt after a while....again vry nice vid

  • They should have stuck with the flat roofs. Raised cabs suck.

  • Why? More head room!

  • Are all new trucks getting EQ2B's?

  • Yup I believe everything after the last few 03 models have EQ2Bs

  • I liked it when he asked to hear the siren but and one of the fireman thought he was telling to turn it on while still in the station. Of course anyone with a brain wouldn't think of sounding it inside.

  • lots of ball bustin goin on

  • u got lucky

  • very nice!!!!

  • nice!!!
