If the sabres lose this game, they lose the series. Huge underdogs that believed they could win, and they did. Couldn't overcome the injuries the next round, yet still took it to 7, would have won the cup no question in my mind. Its too bad but that's life. The team is strong this year despite people thinking the offseason was a bust.

No one will ever be able to convince me that had the Sabres not had so many crazy injuries to their defense going into game 7 vs. Carolina this year that they would not have won the cup during this season!!

This was the best game I have ever seen. And then 19 minutes from the cup finals with our top 4 defensemen out.. What an incredible year. My heart is pumping and adrenaline flowing just from watching this.

The battle after the final Ottawa goal was critical. One player went to the penalty box for each team (McKee for Buffalo) which allowed 4 on 4 play instead of 5 on 5 (more open ice) and thus more room for Buffalo to score the tying goal.
