  • Hello ! Nice !!

See my porting of Cosworth/Zectec syl head. + other car`s

    JVB.

  • You live in Rayleigh by any chance mate? if so I LOVE your car!! Make an effort to drive past it whenever I'm in Rayleigh, in SWF myself so not particularly far.. if you ever fancy taking a complete stranger out for a drive I'm that stranger =P

  • @dannyboi3001

Hello danny. I'm also in SWF - i do beleive the car your talking about is the escort cosworth [the only orange one i know of in Rayleigh.]

    I could be wrong though.

My RST is on here, search for "rsspecial1"

It's not an orange escort but still -

  • @Rsspecial1 LOL you alright alex!!

  • I have a 2.0 zetec in my mk6 aswell running the standard mangement

  • @cheese3656 the chavtastic days of flamer kits lol. Didnt need it a while after this video, as i fitted jenvey throttle bodies and megasquirt stand alone management, that pops flames on its own lol

  • wot brakes an gearbox did u use forit

  • @nockr21 1.6 IB5 Gearbox, no need to uprated them really, if you do go turbo you could do with going to the MTX75 box off the RS2000's. Front brakes, i used a 300mm set up, focus st170 disks, mark 3 mondeo calipers (same as st170 calipers) and goodridge braided hoses. On the rear i used an RS2000 rear disk beam, 2wd rs2000 handbrake cable and Goodridge braided hoses. Although i did later uprate the fronts to 330mm Focus RS 4 Pot Brembo's just before braking the car :( hope that helps

  • What gearbox did you use for this engine as i bought my escort with the engine conversion already done and apparently its got a 1.8 gti gearbox in.

  • @ashleyuk2007 1.8 gearbox is fine, only need the MTX75 box if you turbo it or go into 200bhp area

  • @tez162003 hey, i wonder why you would prefer the mtx175 instead of of an standard, both are not suited for turbo...only difference is the syncro added to the reverse gear, beside you also need to change the drive shafts due to the difference in length...take an ib5 housing and add the diff from an rs turbo but still it wouldn't live long......buy quaife if you don't want any problems with the gearbox....if you wanna play hard, you gotta pay hard....

  • my zetec in mercury mystique overheats when idling and cools off after driving a bit. along with this the heater wont blow hot air until I start driving as well. All this even after I replaced the water pump and timing belt a year ago for the same issue.

  • wat was that switch for?

  • is the chrome intake pipe from a escort Rs turbo???

  • yep its a rst charge pipe, i have just done a jenvey throttle body conversion so i no longer need any of the intake stuff from this vid, so i will have the hoses, chrome pipe, 2.0 throttle body, 2.0 MAF air filter etc for sale, theres a for sale thread for them on escort evolution ;)

  • just wondering if its fits.. i just bought one-..

its already in the mail :P

  • i read i a ford mag that u chipped it and got some new injectors... think it was performance ford..

how much ekstra power from chip and the new injectors?

  • That's bad ass I'm going to drop a Zetec in to my escort. I noticed u said there is an easy to follow guide can u send me the link.

  • found the link ^^ ehm,.. can u feel a big difrense between the 1,8 and the 2,0 ?? is it wouth it?

  • does the 2l zetec ECU fit the 1,8l zetec connect plug? or di i have to change all the wireing i n the car?

  • the plugs are the same but you do need to alter 7 or 8 wires, theres a easy to follow guide on escort evolution if you need one

  • can u please send me the link to the guide? =)

  • Zetec from a focus will involve custom rear engine mount, if you want a 2.0 zetec thats easy to do, get a silvertop.

if you have a zetec in the car already its an easy swap as all the loom is the same, all you change is the, sump, pick up, ecu, tb, maf, block, head, fuel rail, and couple of 2.0 sensors, can be done in a weekend.

This engine has just been ripped apart and being built again to be even cleaner! :)

  • did you have the zetec 1.8 before???

how many componets did you have to change?

the things i know of is: oil sump pickup.. ecu.. and waterpump... im about too di the same thing with my escort.. but i need som tips and help..

  • Hi there, i`m also interested in ur project. I have escort 1.6 and planning to swap the eingine with 2.0 zetec SE from focus.

  • engine looks lovely and ya car

  • thanks, i like it, id love to re spray it again in a different shade of orange and do a few tweaks, but well see, currently jobless due to redundancy so wont be happening soon, thats for sure

  • that why you modify the airbox so you get the benefit of both sound and performance!

  • Get a panel filter in there and it will go lovely!

  • not a fan of panels filters personally, i like the bit of induction noise, its not running quite right in this vid as the MAF has had it!

  • nice one m8 ;) lol
