I haven't seen the replay since, but it hit the shaft of his stick. It changed direction just a tich, and it didn't hit Brian Leetch.

but this American Team and this Canadian team could both beat there 2010 counterparts in my opinion
I mean Burnaby Joe, Iggy, Lemieux, Yzerman, for Canada. just Insane
JR SuperStar, Mike Modano, Amonte, Weight, Leech, Hull
Both VERY stacked teams

@stopdropandroll they had better players than in 2010. Hull, Modano, Guerin, Amonte, Leetch, and Richter were all at the heights of their careers. # of those just mentioned are or will be hall of famers! THey were stacked also.

@bigten3 Yeah man, that was a pretty sickening team too. Every time those three forwards touched the puck, and every so often Kessel, my heart jumped. Luongo and Miller were amazing, too.
You know who really surprused me though in the tournament were Switzerland and Slovakia. They both only lost to Canada and the States by a goal each. Hiller was UNREAL.
Maybe we'll see Jack Campbell in the next Olympics, though, eh? ;)

@losermonster Oh gosh yeah going into the games i didnt know what to expect , but they played some great hockey. and yeah with guys like Hiller (an all star) and Hossa you can never count em out. Latvia hung in thier 2, hahaha. And deff Campbell is a guy I'd love to see AND BIG BUFFF, USA didnt use Byfuglien in the last rodeo hopful we see him in RUS.

I miss Sakic. I feel privileged to have grown up in the era with players like Sakic, Mario, Gretzky, Yzerman etc. But Sakic will always be tops in my books. Great player on and off the ice.

Stacked is an understatement. This Canadian team was probably more loaded than the 70s-era Soviet teams. It's what you get when you put forth a team with natural talent Mario Lemieux and his overwhelming cast.
Imagine if we had to go through a team like this in 2010.

You know that your country actually deserves a gold medal when they win with every country having had their best players on the ice. Canada and USA were at a disadvantage for so long because we had most of the players in the NHL and they were not eligible to play in the Olympics. Now, since every country can have their best players on the ice, Canada takes it twice! Russia just sucks, and all of CCCP victories in the Olympics were against Canada's inferior teams. As soon as Canada gets to use their best players we get GOOOOOLLLLLDDDDDDDDD!!!! Now poor Russia will never win a gold, and CCCP always won when Canada used inferior players.
