I sure do but i don't care for all the 3rd rate 19th century composes.the 2nd rate and 3rd living now are much more fascinating.Check out Kyle Gann,Eve Beglarian, MeredithMonk and all the other fabulous music that is being written NOW!~!!
@lovesGenet I also don't care for the 3rd rate 19th century composers but they serve a
purpose in showing how 1st rate is 1st rate.
No-one knows how 1st rate present day composers are, it takes years for this to become manifest, unless the music is written by a Mozart where it is immediately obvious the voice is new and special. I heard the composers you mention but I would guess that in the future their musical language will be regarded as derivative, to me it sounds pretentious and post pop.
@RollaArtis That is (sadly) the truth, but it always makes me sad when I think what great composers of the past could have done when they were celebrated the same way in their times.
@kasyapa Yes, sometimes it's difficult to tame. When pedalling I try to make it sound as realistic as possible, I know what you mean about Duo Art (and Ampico) pianos but these only sound good when the recording mic. is up close near the bass end.
Yes - Mrs Leschetizky appears to have been a quite accomplished pianist although there are signs with some of her rolls that a fair amount of correction went on afterwards, including this one which retains a few authentic wrong notes somewhere in the mix.
Thanks for uploading this!

seething! one of the most powerful reproducing pianos i've heard in the fortes. yay for the duo-art "crash" ability. :)

RollaArtis - definitely not a complaint. it brings out the passion. i do wish the pianos did not have to be so close-miked!

I love this performance - we used it for our "Dead Pianists Live" concert series last year too.
