During one part of the interview, the man asks her how she became interested in gymanstics. She replies that when she was real little, she was always running, jumping, climbing and swinging off of something. A little time later, she says that vault is her favorite along with floor exercise while the uneven bars are her least favorite. She even stated that Khorkina feels that the uneven bars are the most difficult routine. She then critiques her own performances and is very hard on herself.
Unfortunately, she performed her vault while the light was still red. All athletes must receive the green light before commencing their vault. It was tragic. It affected her performance on the floor as well, a routine that may well have been the best choreographed in the competition. I feel very badly for her. I hope she overcomes her disappointment.
For me the best of Beijing 2008 was ANNA PAVLOVA. But they are punishing Rusia because it help to South Ossetia. Anna Pavlova: The Queen without medal.
My favourite gymnast! I first saw her in the 2000 olympics when she was pushed into 4th place by some extremely dubious judging - and she was she sat at the side with a tear running down her pretty face! Her team mates tried to comfort her but she was so sad! What an amazing gymnast!!!
You are so right! The judging at the 2004 Olympics was very anti-Russian in general, and anti-Pavlova in particular. She is beautiful, and deserved much better scores.
Thanks - yes, I meant 2004. It was such a travesty - the marking also affected Khorkina's retirement from international gymnastics. But I will always remember Anna's tears on her lovely but sad face.
sorry, no intention to offend. met her at worlds and when she gave me an autograph smiled and giggled. when my friend (who is a girl) asked for autograph, she gave it, but threw it back at her and hissed. very weird. but still, anna is a world class gymnast!
The rest of the interview is basically her critiquing her own routines, then she demonstrates some moves. She mentions that beam and vault are her favorite events while bars is her least favorite. She also mentions that even Khorkina said that bars is the most difficult event.
Then she talks about how she made the junior Russian team in 1998 and that up until then gymnastics was all fun. Then Arkayev came up to her and asked whether she planned on just having fun or actually working. She said that's when gymnastics partially became work for her but that she performs the best when she thinks of it as playing and not working.
First the interviewer asks Anna why she didn't become a ballerina (referring to the famous early 20th century ballerina Anna Pavolva), and Anna replies that she never liked dancing and that this is the part of gymnastcs that she does not like. He then asks her to explain why she started with gymnastics and she explained that she was always running, jumping and swinging off of something when she was little.
I agree. I think she does a great job with the dance on floor and beam. I could understand someone like Amanar hating dance but not Pavlova. Shame she didn't medal in the AA in Athens. I thought she was the best gymnast there.
she looks very nice.

Couldn't they just warn her or give her a ticket or something,,, Olympics happens once every 4 years come on it's not a local annual context..
