  • Do you not mean 1.4 L French Press, and do you measure the water at 96°C? Boiling water is too hot.

  • From what I seen on most coffee geek videos etc ..is that u don't want to leave the coffee grounds to long sitting in the press for it will become bitter.

After u press you want to pour the extra coffee into a thermo of some kind to keep it warm.

The way I do it is when i finish pressing regardless of what kind of press, I poor the Extra immediately into a thermal double wall container ;)

  • @ultra78721 Mhmmmm!

  • @snakesonaplane lol.. made me laugh

    what is the best way?

  • @ArmedOkie Here are my thoughts on this video: 15 seconds in, she says it’s the best way to make a cup of coffee. Not true, there are many fine brewing techniques such as Chemex, syphon brewer, etc. There is not one way to make a great cup of coffee.

  • Greatly appreciate the video! I did a google search for how to use a coffee press and you came up! I had no clue how to use one, lol Now that I know I can list one on eBay!

  • @askdanna Awesome

  • Every post on coffee videos: I do it moar better, ur wrong.

  • @NTROPYK // because you are the bestest best in the whole wide world at everything you do

  • @15760009 I was just looking through various videos on coffee making and noticed how awful so many comments can be. In general, the comments on Youtube are out of control. Your reply here is hilarious. I wish I could hear the tone in how you would say it. Too funny.

  • @backyardbread haha... thx what's funny is that people don't read the title 101 meaning it's the basics to get any person using a french press without all the hassle or coffee snobbery.

  • @NTROPYK You do it moar better? At least you do something correct, your spelling sure doesnt say much!

  • Sorry but for me 8 tablespoon(about 40g of coffee) of coffee to 48oz press is plain piss. For a 32oz press I use around 70-75g of coffee. Peace :)

  • @gabeah I let my coffee(most of the time dark roast) steep for sometimes almost 5 minutes and I don't find it bitter if I take 10-15 minutes to finish from the press. The only thing I do is to leave some coffee at the bottom to avoid getter sediments in my cup.

  • Here is a suggestion I read from someone else's video on here. After you pour the hot water over the grounds, set a saucer on top and brew for 3.5 minutes. Remove the saucer and use a couple tablespoons to remove as many of the grounds from the top before plunging. This allows the plunger to go down more easily AND reduces the grounds that the remaining cups of coffee will be standing in -- helps stop the continued brewing.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video, I enjoyed it.
