I will post up the settings when I get home to my computer. I have written them down but it is too much to try to put in on my phone. This vid is pretty old, the settings were slightly revised a few years ago
....by the way... a continuum is about 2K-5K somewhere around there... or try getting morphwiz on ipad..sounds decent, but you lose much of the sound... the tone is PERFECT though.. i'll admit that.. jordan rudess is a wizard!!! you have balls to even attempt this
@imkingofmymind Thanks a lot. I'll admit I sucked a lot back then. I've improved much since then but just haven't posted many videos lately. I've also tweaked the patch to have a more accurate portamento. I just did what I could with what I have. By the way MorphWiz looks awesome. I just don't want to have to buy an iPad for that application. I mean, I bought an iPod Touch just for Bebot, but that was a lot less money.
Hi. This is Mario K20 from my other profile Diastavrones. The top keyboard cannot loop but the bottom one can record 5 songs with 5 tracks each. It doesn't do loops like a more expensive keyboard. It has very limited memory. I did the best with what I had.
No. It can record 5 songs with 5 tracks each. It has very limited memory. The keyboard I am talking about is the Yamaha DGX-205. The microKorg on top has no recording ability, but neither can make loops. By the way I am the same as MarioK20, just my other profile. I have more videos of Dream Theater on my Diastavrones profile if you want to check them out.
Thanks. It does have multiple inputs. Two RCA and one mic input if I remember correctly. I'm not at it right now to look at it. In this video only the korg is hooked up to the amp. By the way this is my other profile. I have more covers and dream theater stuff if you want. To check it out. Thanks for watching this video.
Thanks its a Korg MicroKorg and cost me $400. It's well worth the money. By the way this is my other profile. Check it out for another Octavarium cover and more Dream Theater stufff.
@MarioK20 Believe it or not, it's possible to criticise someone's work, even if I can't to it better. You did this video for your visitors. And if they don't like it, why shouldn't they tell you?
yeah but i don't know how to program juno gs. I was actually playing one at guitar center today and they are very nice. You would have to split the keyboard into two patches, a string setting on the left and a lead sound on the right. The lead sound on the right must be programed to have portamento adjustment. Thanks for watching my video.
This wouldn't work well with your bass because it has trouble reproducing deep sounds. From what I know this is a keyboard amp only which probably means it has a different impedance? Thank you for watching my video and I would like to see some videos of you playing the bass.
Actually, most keyboard amps are veryyy good for using a bass. I haven't personally tried on a Roland KC60, but keyboard amps are made to play both high frequency and low frequency notes. So it will most likely work well.
Yeah I am specifically talking about my amp which has trouble producing bass frequencies, other than that, if you say other amps are good, I would have to take your word for it.
Yah, Dt's my faovorite band (sorry to but in, Mattslash), and you did a very nice job...the most viable option I've yet seen for covering this tune without buying a contiuum.
What I did was tape down the keys on the yamaha and press the function button. I went to a setting that breaks down the note into 100 parts, it's called tuning. At 1:10 you can see me turning the wheel on the keyboard to negative 100. This made it go down to the next note.
I don't know if it does but I bet it would considering that keyboard is over $2,000 and mine is $300. If you are considering this keyboard it is model DGX-205 and has almost 500 sounds. They are not all good but it has a decent piano sound and sax/flute sounds which are indistinguishable from the yamaha motif xs. Too bad I don't use these sounds and want a better keyboard. I am thinking of a Roland Juno-G or Fantom X6.
Ah, well I'm not really looking into another keyboard right now since I just bought a Triton Extreme 88. I'm thinking about bringing out my old Radio Shack one to make patch changes smoother since there's a few decent sounds on it lol. Yah the Roland Fantom was one I was considering but I don't know much about the Juno-G. I want to get an analog synth eventually though
Congratulations for getting a Triton Extreme 88. That is a very nice keyboard you have. The Juno-G I was talking about is basically a Fantom without the orange pads for about $1,000. I would reccomend the MicroKorg for your analog synth, even though it is not a true analog. It has 128 sound presets and true to vintage synth sounds. How much did you get your Triton for?
I got a used one on e-bay for $1300! If you don't mind getting used keyboards, you can EASILY find a TE 88 for $1600 on e-bay. I checked and they are generally a little cheaper than the Fantom X8 or the Yamaha Motif ES8.
good one..!!!!

This is nicely done.
Ya know, opinions are wonderful, aren't they.
I think that means anyOne Who has one, likes what They see or hear enough to have one.
How cool is that!

Why the keys on the low keyboard are taped?

So the background strings sound can be continuous while I solo on the microkorg and control the synthesis.

yeah. you don't have a continuum, but it sounds realistic.

True. But often people want you to prove yourself better to be able to criticize anything. Thats just utter bullshit.
