Hi, Thanks for your awesome tutorial. I got a question if you don't mind.
I made a model on maya, imported it into z brush and back again in maya as you showed us with a sub division lvl of 5 instead. But now i got a problem. When I try to wrap the high poly model (from zbrush) with the low poly model, maya is shutting down! Any sugestion of what can I do pls?
Never thought of using this approach, but it's quick and gets things done. But not sure if It's good for creating models for animation, but its great for modelling and rendering poses out for people to see.
No bother at all. Well lets see. Well going into edit mode. First when you have a model you are bringing into Zbrush you must go to the Tool Palette and Click Import. Now if you don't see the tool palette docked to the left then try clicking and scrubbing down on the blank space where it should be on the right. Once you have clicked import and brought your model into Zbrush, you need to click and drag it onto the canvas. Then you can click the edit button or hit the 'T' key to enter edit mode.
Also if for some reason your Tool palette is not docked to the side bar at all. You can go up to the main menu, find tool, hover over it so it opens the menu, and then click on the little "power" shaped icon to dock it to the side bar. The side bar can have menus hiding though sometimes on startup. They are usually just pushed towards the top so just click in an open space in the side bar and just drag the hiding menus down.
And one more tip. Zbrush is actually a 2.5 editing kit. So this means that if at anytime you go out of edit mode or hit t you will drop the tool you are working on to the canvas. If you hit T or edit again before drawing on the canvas you will re-enter the tool. But if you find that you are no longer in edit mode and are creating copies of your model on the canvas, simply hit Ctrl+N to clear the canvas, drag out a fresh copy of your tool. And then re-enter edit mode. Good as new!
i need help with something o you know how to export an obj.? when i try it doesnt work is there a way i can go to edit mode without having to import another mesh?
To export from Zbrush to OBJ. You need to go to the Tool Palette and choose the Export Sub-palette. Then choose obj and click export to save where ever you need to. Start the video at 28secs and to see where I perform these steps.
Sorry to bother but what if you don't see those lists of options? I've been having this problem since two days ago :s I'm new to the program. Thanks for the help.
i have no export button in the tool box, help please. :/

I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you trying to Import into Zbrush or Export from Zbrush out to another application?
