some of the best moves come just in the flow of the game. one time i faked hard left then went behind my back and made the dude stumble. the crowd went "ohhhhh!".
i didn't even plan it; i was just thinking about getting to the hole. it was nice.
love winks crossover at 08:25 his technique and footwork is very good, very convincing crossover move... Thanks for uploading nba ankle breakers bro, appreciate it mate :)
Causes team defensive breakdowns. Forces team rotations to counter his penetration. This allows teammates to spot up for open jumpshots or cut to the basket for lay ups. That is why the Isolation play is the best play in basketball other than the Pick and Roll. Causes the most defensive breakdowns in the least amount of time if done properly.
Too much dribbling(set up dribbling) and too much passing(over passing) has shown statiscally to help defenses by allowing them to have more time to set up. Should get a good percantage shot in 4-12 seconds(if the ball is passed 1-2 times only to maximize defensive breakdown and offensive aggression). If you have a great playmaker that is all the offense you need when he or she is on the floor. Making the extra pass can also help the defense by keeping the ball in play longer than need be.
@chitownmo True. However, you just don't pass the ball around, without the other players moving without the ball. That's how motion offense works, and it breaks defenses that way. What you are describing is how Basketball was done before, but it has evolved. Set plays, which require more than 1 pass, with each pass necessary to distract the defense, and find the already planned open man. Motion offense is hard to defend, since it keeps you guessing. Isolation? All you have to do is go baseline D
@romrayla yes but in the NBA motio offenses are ot popular for multiple reasons. one they take time to cohesively apply(jacksons triangle is one of the few successful versions but he has always had superstar playeres running it). many players dont like running them. stars want the ball. espn talked about how due to modern team defenses majority of shot attempts are taking with less than 6 seconds on the clock. you hae to have a player that can create his own shot. if not you cannot succeed
@romrayla if all you can do to contain isolation than they would not be 1 of the 2 primary plays(pick and roll being 1st). difficult to force a dominant offensive player baseline even with a excptional defeder consistenly. eve if help comes he got the secondary option a open shot for a teammate off the cut or the spot up. the nba game is not college or high school. the athletes are bigger better and more difficuljt to score on. every nba team has the isolation play for their top players(s).
Steve grew up in Dc...Iverson got his cross from friend at Georgetown (He said it in one of his interviews) in Dc and he's from Va...Dc/Va/Ny area is full of dribbles :)
i've been watchin iverson since he was in college and buddy he hasn't lost a step. he still just as fast and explosive. he just doesn't cross as much anymore becuz he's wiser and he knows that his chances of turning the ball over are higher. but he's still unstoppable
he played the shooting guard when he was with the sixers. he actually plays better against taller defenders because they aren't as fast as the shorter ones and he blows right by them
he is a shooting guard...i mean,he was a shooting guard in the sixers, and he will be a shooting guard next season cuz nuggets signed chuky atkins who will play pointguard

The only question for AI would be: How can he conserve his energy? Crossing people up seems exhausting, even for naturals like AI & Francis.
