Dont be a clown or waste your time promoting the opposition , trust me lor

  • chris788 talks about JBJ's "obsession with human rights and freedom".

But without those rights to put in place free and fair elections and uphold the independence of the judiciary, JBJ can go into parliament a hundred times, and still be kicked out, jailed and bankrupted.

So actually people need to wake up from the impression that elections as they operate now are actually going to bring any significant change to Singapore.

  • Had he awaken earlier from his extreme obsessions with human rights and freedom, he would not end up in such a sorry state. It shows the dangers faced by an entity when views are held stubbornly without regards to its consequences. Nevetheless, my deepest anguish and respect for such a tenacious fighter.

  • Respect his fight for all Singaporeans!!

    Thank you Sir!

  • i certainly respect JBJ for his courage to struggle against the odds in a bid to build a freer society operating on a more democratic ethos.

however... it is sad indeed because he received not an ounce of support from the very people he was fighting for....

moreever so for an unworthy place like Singapore... where the ruling regime has entrenched & institulionalized its dictatorial paradigm.... its sad indeed.... =(

  • A true Singaporean who fought so selflessly to bring democracy to Singapore. It is comforting to know that you have gone to join your wife. May your souls RIP and may the people of Singapore carry on your fight and never forget your scrafices

  • I fully respect this man. I admit I do not have the determination and sacrifice for a place like Singapore. He is a Singaporean more than anyone of us. He is 1 million percent Singaporean and I salute him for that. NOBODY is a loving and loyal to Singapore as him

  • JBJ vs. Low Thia Kang,

    JBJ wins hands down.

LTK = toothless being an oppo for the sake of being an oppo.

God bless your soul JBJ. You have fought the good fight. And with all my strength I and hopefull the people of Singapore will continue your legacy of bringing the righteous where they belong and the corrupt to justice.

  • I wil fight to the very last becos I believe in what good JBJ has done for the Great Singaporeans.

The fight must continue even JBJ has gone to be with his wife to meet God - and that's what I mean, to fight lky's pap till the very last even without a political weapon with me, but the Great people of Singapore is my only weapons to fight.

That's my promise to you, Sir.

    Amin.

    JBJ,Sir,that's my promise.

  • I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.(1 Corinthians 4:3-5) Love praise from Jesus who is the Judge of all.(cf. Acts10:42,43)

  • My salutes to JBJ, the only man i know who stood by he's dreamz n goalz till he's very last breath.

True Hero, in my eyes foreva

  • too bad most chinese couldnt look padt the fact that he was indian. In another country he may have been a hero... shame

  • I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2Timothy 4:7) Mr. JBJ has fought the good fight and remained faithful to Jesus, the only holy Son of God. The statement on his T-shirt says 'The truth shall set you free'. Thank God that if we hold on to Jesus' teaching, we are really His disciples. Then we will know the truth of God in Jesus, and the truth will set us free from sin, death and separation from God.(cf. John 8:32) We have eternal life by faith in Jesus!

  • Whether you agree with him on political issues such as the methods of opposing the PAP,one thing is certain:Mr Jeyaretnam is a great father who brought his two sons up to be useful persons in society. That, despite his wife had passed away for so long,he did not remarry, showed that he is a faithful man and husband.

  • Mr J.B Jeyaretnam,

Rest in peace.Your vision for a caring, fair and more humane Singapore will be realised one day.

  • My friend bought his book:MAKE IT RIGHT FOR SINGAPORE." - containing JBJ's speeches in Parliament during 1997-1999. Fantastic book.

His writings will show that we have bred and lost a true and dedicated son of Singapore, expecting none in return.

HE was far ahead of us, mortals...and could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

  • Mr Jeyaretnam RIP, Thank You, You're a true HERO as far as I'm concern........

  • PM Lee Hsien Loong conceded some years ago in Parliament Mr Jeyaratnam's loyalty to Singapore - urging Singaporeans - to emulate Mr Jeyaretnam who was a fine example of a Singaporean 'who stayed on in Singapore, despite his disagreements with the Governnment,in order to FIGHT FOR HIS BELIEFS.'

PM said, " If you are a Singaporean, you should stay on and fight and argue your case and persuade more people to believe you and..and not opt out and leAve, BECAUSE NO POLICY IS SET IN STONE FOREVER."

  • Rest in Peace JBJ!! You are the best hero in my heart forever! I ever saw him somewhere around Raffles place selling his book and also saw many people trying to avoid him! Really dont understand why those people will behaving in this way! Anyway i would like to Salute to you for your contribution to Singapore! There is still a lot of Singaporean supporting you and missing you!

  • JBJ, may you rest in peace, you as well as LKY have been a inspiration to me. You are a true Patriot of Singapore.

  • He was a gentleman and a scholar.

One of the last few of his kind in Singapore.

  • A dedicated space has b een built for him at The Tranquil World . Com... You may pay your last respects to this great man there.

  • JBJ: A true loyal Singaporean.

Time to remember LKY's own noble quotes as a young politician himself:

"LET US SHAKE OFF THIS OPPRESSIVE SHROUD OF SYCOPHANCY AND UNQUESTIONING HOMAGE TO AUTHORITY. FOR IF WE JUST DRIFT ALONG, WE MAY GET TO A POSITION WHERE IT IS NOT ONLY WRONG TO TALK, BUT ALSO WRONG TO THINK. HISTORY IS FULL OF CHRONICLES OF HOW A ROBUST AND HARDY PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS TRIUMPH OVER ADVERSITY"

What better tribute can one give to JBJ with this unintended quotation from LKY.

  • How hypocritical of LKY.

  • Agreed.

  • I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2Timothy 4:7) Yes! Mr. John 8:32) JBJ has eternal life in heaven!

  • You are Good!!RIP....

  • Sir I can't believe you're gone...i regret not having the chance to meet you personally...you have always been an inspiration and a true hero to me...

  • Mr JBJ will be judged as a true hero who fought tirelessly for what he beleived in. His courage and 'never say die' spirit against insurmountable odds is a true inspiration. The man was a legend and Singapore and the world was a better place, thanks to JBJ.

Rest in peace for you have certainlt fought the good fight!

  • farewell Sir...u r the inspiration

  • Mr JBJ you are our hero , ur nvr say die attitude and ur determination to fight for democracy and the rights of the people have touched all of us . may ur spirit live on

    R.I.P

  • May his never-dying spirit lives on.

    R.I.P.

  • He was not a hero. He was a corrupt and rebel politician.

    R.I.P.

  • When that chee bye LKY going to die? when LKY about to died the ghost of JBJ will hunt after him! Ha Ha Ha

  • HAHAHA I also say.

  • Didn't know what we had till it is gone... I felt so bad not knowing him after how much he did for us. He got into bankrupty and was disgraced for trying to help Singaporeans lead a better life. He deserves to be recognised. Somebody make a documentary about this guy. Mother Theresa and Ghandi were role models for the world. We had JBJ!

Thank you and your family so much. Sorry for all the crap you had to bear for us. It is extremely unbelievable what they did to you.

  • RIP :(

  • God bless JBJ...He's our hero.

  • Goodbye Mr JB Jeyaretnam. You are truly Singapore's greatest fighter and hero believing in what you had been doing without giving up, right till the end. My deepest condolences to the family of Mr JB Jeyaretnam. Rest in Peace for you had put up a great fight all these while. Peace be with you always.

  • God bless Mr. JBJ

  • Fight my fellows..... they took everything from him he died with nothing...Fear nothing but god.

  • 深痛悼念新加坡爱国英雄惹耶勒南先生!

    youtube com/watch?v=CdK0QNHkHdw&fmt=18

(need to put a "." before the "com")

(Your video is good! I have used many of the pics here in mine. Hope you won't mind :)

  • Goodbye, JBJ - you made a difference and Singapore is all the better for your work and life. We will miss you.

  • May he find peace finally. Miss You JBJ the Great

  • Dear SIR, you were and always will be a hero to Singapore Politics. A brave warrior, a Singaporean who cares for Singaporeans. May you rest in peace while the rest continue worrying about Singapore's future. You have done your part. And it was more than enough. God speed grand old man of the opposition

  • goodbye JBJ... :(

  • THE EXPATS SHOULD BE NICE TO SINGAPOREANS. I love my Chinese, Malay and Indian brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, the 'white' expats spit on all of us. Hey expats, you guys can live in S'pore...no prob...but be nice to us asians. I mean it. I'm fine with oppositions and PAP, but I can NO longer take the expats. WHITEs, be nice to us. Please. If not, there might be a riot.

  • walkonthewildside78

You don't know that you are being spat by some pass holders who believe that Singaporean are lazy and uneducated enough to have the job they had taken? They thought we needed them so much and that if they are not around, Singapore will not progress.

  • Hmmm... Not true my friend. We all know the truth. Anyways, all good.. just enjoy your time here, Welcome to S'pore!

  • Wow.. hahahahaha

    Ok. Welcome to your world.

    heheheheh.. :D

  • Yes. You're Welcome to our world. Don't litter! kekeke :)

  • hm... i dunno... i've made friends with some expats in my life... dunno why ur experience with them is like that

  • Dear Sir, wish you in good health in many more years to come and success in your new Reform party.

  • Thank you for standing for us.

  • I think JBJ is 100 times better than the stupid CSJ.

JBJ brings respect to opposition parties in Singapore.

  • i love this guy. BELIEVE ME, it will be amazing how he will bring the changes to SG. He is a very very wise man who has tasted lee kwan yew's capabilities. Lashback time.

  • God bless this gentleman. His indefatigable attitude in the face of tribulations is legendary. I spoke to him briefly a few years back outside City Hall MRT and bought his autographed book. He was visibly tired but the fire was still in his eyes. He loves Singapore. He is a giant among Singaporeans. God bless you Sir and Philip.

  • I respect him! I never miss him during every GE. Even without him, i still support his party, "WORKERS PARTY" !!!

  • Long live JBJ Sir.

  • That is a problem for some of you people who thinks JBJ had waste his time. Without him and some of the opposition who gain friction with the govt, the GST would prob be 20percent now. And prob, HDB price would've go over a million now. Obviously, you have been IMMUNNED or should I said STERILIZED to live in this so called progressed nation. Progressed income and generation for them, but exponential drecrement of ours. He is not the finest, he's the bravest. Period.

  • if everyone start thinking they are wasting their time against government i think we are finished. Who knows they might jerk the hdb to half a million n no one will dare to protest

  • Trust me, we're almost there. They have been selling the Boon Keng flats for 740K or $540-$600/psf.

  • Here is a man with uncompromising conviction and He fears only God. There is much for all Singaporeans to emulate from JBJ. Before God you stand as a Good and faithful servant, full of pride and joy. My best for you always. CCM

  • he gave a voice to millions thru the generations.

    that's definitely not a waste of time,ryt?

  • A real man. A warrior who never gives up. Even his worst enemies cannot deny that. A true gentleman who says what he means and means what he says.

  • i respect him highly.. and Dr CSJ is my hero too... we will make it one day.. GST increase by 2 percent yet prices go up by 15-20 percent.. pay wise... no increment to match

  • thank you

  • he is the man, who has guts and love for humans
