I can see why she had the operation--it could have permently affected her heatlh. I just heard her today at the Met's ring--she was wonderful--and her voice warmed up as the opera progressed.
Holy High Notes Batman! I had forgotten how difficult this work is, and wow does she knock the notes right off the page. Brian is spectacular here, as he's been for the last 30+ years....amazing how he still looks the same as he did in 1977. As great a solo artist as an ensemble musician.
Mrs.Voigt is almost unique nowadays. To hear her huge dramatic voice live is a great experience. I´ve heard her several times as Strauß´ empress and that was amazing. Great singer and musician !
I miss it too, but recently she sounds as if she has gotten her technique back down since the weight loss. She is sounding better and better! I still love her though!

@jmahlon here here; absolute security from which to take a few risks and turn up the heat! She's still great but before Stemme she was untouchable
