these guys had huge effect on my youth. i'm 40 now but this reminds me how much i got into the vocalist voice raw gravely and sincere - hope they make a new record tour and videos with good production
@cinnamental They are both fucking epic in their own right, but each had a certain style that they brought to Kyuss - I find it hard to choose who I like *better*, (usually it's Nick anyway) ...but when you hear Reeder's bottom-end grooving on tracks like this it really does put both those guys on exactly the same level. Scott aint a fat dude who can't play, he's a fucking god who owns bass.
@kickback73 Have a nice gig. Saw them also at the Oyafestival in Oslo in August, but couldn't film anything. The stage was too high for us standing in the front and the guards stopped any attempts to take movies. Shit. Hate that.
@stamos1978 Thanks. I really got to get hold of a new (or slightly used) Sony T70 cam again. The screen was broken during the last gig I filmed which was Tragedy (appropriate name, lol).
I wish they had Scott Reeder instead Nick Oliveri. Nothing against Nick, but he's just not as cool as Scott. Also, Bruno Fevery is a great replacement for Josh, he plays just as well as Josh, and has that classic Kyuss sound.
I've seen kyuss many times in the 90's... with NICK with SCOTT and i'd say I prefer SCOTT, super nice guy. I wish JON would HAVE got into shape and taken care of himself, he seems barely afloat as usual. Bloated and drunk. C'mon man this is the big comeback!
@blade1953channel2 seein them at the palace in melbourne. they were originally schedueled for billboard which is a smaller venue, but cos the tickets sold out in 3 mins in melbourne, they moved it to a bigger venue. i was one of the first ppl to get the ticket for the original venue. i hope they play demon cleaner or supa scoop and the mighty scoop. it shall be epic!
@CaZZaConspiracy please post the setlist on songkick.com if you manage to get hold of it. (I didn't get it this time). Mr. Garcia was generous enough to give out the nearly full bottle of Jack after having a drink for himself. I got a good part of it. Have never drunken that much Jack in one sip before, lol. I will be seeing them again in August when they return to Oslo for the Øya festival.
I don't know guys but... I'd really really like a NEW record. Even without JH... BB and JG has accumulated such experience over the years and they have released super amazing stuff that I don't doubt they can still rock Kyuss style... Oliveri's still the same badass guy and he can add so much to the band because he's got this punky violent vibe and he can actually sing too. They didn't need JH to make fantastic music before (Unida, Fu, Mondo) and with this Arsenal guy they can make it again..
Seeing these guys tomorrow so I'm chuffing PSYCHED!
As for people complaining about the guitar tone, considering this is recorded off a camera microphone it's got no lower frequencies at all (you can hardly Nick Playing at all). I doubt this video (awesome though it is) is a very accurate representation of what the gig sounded like.
i think kyuss really broke up over a chick between josh and john. not over money. still is cool to see some recent live shit though.lots of nights wasted and 4 wheelin in forked river rockin to this.hope good friends know how much i really love em even after so much time apart. see you around brothers of HALLUCINA!
Obviously that Bruno guy will never be a substitute for JH. His guitar tone is inadequate, even more when you see he's using Marshall heads. Homme is a mastermind of vintage, dirty guitar sounds, I doubt he'd ever be using any of those amps. Apart from that, it's always a pleasure to hear Kyuss played live by most of Kyuss themselves.
man I dont like the guitar tone at all...he better fix this by the time they come to USA..and I hate to say it..I love BB but Alfredo had so much POWER
Brant is awesome, but it's bizarre seeing this line-up playing 'Circus' era songs considering Nick and Brant were both out of the band by that point and had no part in the songs
Again. Kyuss was an unknown band made by unknown people. ( Special) but just a band.
Now is the same an unknowN band made by unknown people. There is not fucking space for a famous and rich guy called Josh Homme. Sorry, he is very good but he broke Kyuss because he wanted the money and the fame. KYUSS IS KYUSS.

the tone is kinda lacking, and i do agree with Homme "KYUSS was a really magical thing — and if you weren't there, well, you weren't. That's just the luck of the draw."
maybe the legendary Kyuss should just be left alone... :(
josh was the real shit but he isn't there, isn't he? this new guy is amazing! he's not even trying too hard to imitate mr homme. listen to his GROWL, he is a new don grungeone! is that a black beauty he's playng on? i dig it !! kyuss really lives!!!
@ficklefucker Not sure what kind of sound you expect from a video shot with a iphone. Of course Kyuss is not 100% there without Homme, but still they sound pretty fuckin awesome.. infact this show was on par with the two best QOTSA gigs I have seen (been to about 10 since 1997). Huge credit to Nick who really made Reeder's bass lines groove. Not being able to appreciate what these guys are doing right now because of some sentimental legacy is only your loss.
@dickwax **That should be since '98, when I went to their show at "So What". If I had to choose I'd like to see Kyuss with their Sky Valley lineup, with Reeder on bass. Reeder would probably love for that to happen, but now it is just as likely as seeing Homme join them. Remember that Brant wrote some of the best Kyuss songs, like Gardenia and Green Machine. Personally I hope they continue this project and take it as far as they can. Any success and money will be nothing more than they deserve.
@dickwax True mate. Don't forget Brant and Nick are pretty good friends, so I don't think it's likely either, even though Mr. Reeder is way better on bass. Right now he's also pretty busy producing records. For me, Brant is the big man who makes this reunion special. Seen Garcia plays Kyuss already, was awsome, and can only be better with Brant on drums, don't care so much for Nick. And yeah, Homme is way better on guitar, but give the other dude some credit too, big shoes to fill
@ficklefucker sorry, but that's bs. (i was in the mosh pit here). you can't judge anything based on this phone recording. i'm a huge fan of Kyuss and all their previous members, but honestly - i never missed Homme for a second, other than sentimental reasons. Bruno rocked!
@Jimmious That is why I only got 3 songs on video. The crowd was crazy most of the time, but during the first 2 songs they were calm as well as during the first encore song. John Garcia generously shared a bottle of Jack with us! Awesome gig.

Josh clearly wanted something different, after 4 albums and 7-8 years of Kyuss, how would you be?
So Josh went out, started playing new stuff (although you can hear kyuss riffs rewriten in Qotsa music), BAM, record deal, how would you be?
