Secular feeling or not, this is good. The problem with most Christian music is that it does not bump most of the time, which is the reason why most will not listen to it. Why can't they cover this song when they are giving God the glory throughout the entire song? God labels us as winners (read your Bible)--so I do believe all I do is win. I know some will not agree with me, but you don't have to only sing a particular type of way to give God the glory. Someone could've been changed by this.

If people would read this story they might see that they are the ones throwing the stones and the artists are Stephen.

God is the creator of all music and sounds!!!!! Its the words and lyrics that make it saved or unsaved. Last time I read my word, the devil was kicked out of heaven for trying to become God..therefore the devil has no control over what is created or destroyed, God does. @Tam92890 I think the point trying to be made is that the message of the song is not one that points people directly to the gospel as you may expect a "gospel" song to do. From an outsiders perpsective they may hear the song and like it because it sounds good but within the song itself its hard to find that message. The point is in the least the message should point nonbelievers to Christ rather than just entertain them. But if the listener was a believer the message would make more sense.

I never said Christian hi hop was wrong because that all i listen to. Its about creativity and credibility Just don't bite if the world in your raps. Be original be unique be creative. I don't agree about Christian rap being a mess. Maybe you've been listening to the wrong artists. THe Christian rap I listen to has challeneged me to read my word more and be unashamed of the gospel. Its actually a lot bolder and talks about the trials of life more than regular gospel. may I suggest listening to Lecrae. Such songs as Background by him or More or Rebel. Did people forget that Toni Braxton, Beyonce, DMX, Monica, Mary J. Blige especially the old school like the O'Jays, Temptations, was raised in the church or know the word. Therefore his debt can be paid with money (which not to judge but he does have). The debt to pay through money is better than another album that hurts his image as a believer and brings people further from Christ. These are the sacrifices that make us true believers, not submitting to the world, and cutting off our contract to Satan

Also, he's not submitting to the world cause you don't have to be under a Christian label to glorify God. He's leaving his old ways, so he might clean up the album he owe. As stated in Ezekiel "You are responsible for your own action," only you can lose your Grace with God. It's your choice!

Sir, I'm gonna walk in love and not give you the old me, but I will contest that my biggest conflict with this song is that it's not conducive for a new believer nor does it make the body of Christ look self sufficient. New believers already have the challenge of letting old stuff go, but now with this song we tell them to just stamp Jesus on it and you can do what you want? Light doesn't blend w/ darkness; it shines, consuming darkness like it was never there!
Secular feeling or not, this is good. The problem with most Christian music is that it does not bump most of the time, which is the reason why most will not listen to it. Why can't they cover this song when they are giving God the glory throughout the entire song? God labels us as winners (read your Bible)--so I do believe all I do is win. I know some will not agree with me, but you don't have to only sing a particular type of way to give God the glory. Someone could've been changed by this.

In Acts 6 u find the story of how the religious leaders didn’t like the way that Stephen was sharing the message of Jesus. What they r really upset about was that he was changing the way they had always worshiped. Then in Chapter 7 they stone him and put him to death for simply telling people about Jesus and going against the way they had always practiced their religion. The instrumental isn't what makes a track gospel or secular. The words determine that. They remixed it and dedicated their version to God. I actually think it pretty clever. When the beat comes on, you THINK it's DJ Khalid,........ and then you get a blessing! People need to stop being so OVERLY religious and digging up reasons to find fault in anything that's new and not so traditional. Indeed no one is perfect and Jesus will not excuse us from judging others. HOWEVER...also remember that the bible is very clear about 'do's and don't'. You have to consider; someone who isn't a Christian, listening to a track with some secular artists on it for the first time, will think its okay to do as the world does.

'Anyone who desires to come after me must first deny himself, pick up his cross and follw me' , A sign of surrender. The turning away from the world to follow Jesus' ways- MATHEW 16:24-26. Last time I read my word, the devil was kicked out of heaven for trying to become God..therefore the devil has no control over what is created or destroyed, God does. @Tam92890 I think the point trying to be made is that the message of the song is not one that points people directly to the gospel as you may expect a "gospel" song to do. From an outsiders perpsective they may hear the song and like it because it sounds good but within the song itself its hard to find that message. The point is in the least the message should point nonbelievers to Christ rather than just entertain them. But if the listener was a believer the message would make more sense.

People keep saying if you disagree with this song then your a hater. That's entertaining to me, really. You say this song isn't for the Christian or the one that listens to christian/gospel music? Well why would a non christian listen to this version when they can listen to the original version? Be original! You have the most creative being on the inside of you! And Christians bitting of the world just shows the world they're more creative then we are. This isn't a SIN issue its a creativity

If this isnt your type of thing...that's fine...it wasnt made with you in mind anyway. This was made for the ppl who dont usually listen to gospel/christian music done in traditional ways. personally i think maybe "christians" need to redirect their energy to living in a christian way and you wont have to be as concerned with the effects that a particular song will have on ppl who are looking to u as an example.

@Keshealm....I don't think the intentions was to be bragging. I think its more of a self esteem thing. Sometimes you have to say things out loud to realize its true. I know I appreciated being favored by God a lot more after constantly hearing and singing this song. Speak it into ourselves. I think you might have taken it a little out a context

Bible says to be humble.and bragin isn't very humble even if it is about favor.. Why do Christians have to tell people they got favor? If we really walked in the true favor of GOD we wouldn't have to speak a word favor would be evident and if its evident then why do all these songs about GODS favor to convince the world?. We speak about the favor of GOD more then we actually walk in it. The Bible says that we would be so blessed that the world would want to be like us not the other way around.

I believe these guys have a right heart and motive but wrong method. This song and allot of christian hiphop is becoming very carnal. The Bible says test the Spirit bc everything that looks like the Spirit really aint the spirit. Christians are into all this braging about favor and stuff and we do have favor it's still carnal to brag about it. Christian hiphop and rnb is a mess and God isn't being glorified as much as he could be. His gifts and favor are being glorified but not God the person.

Folks should be able to look at your life and know God is with you if you are in His Will. There is no need to shout it from the mountain tops!!

i agree completely. secular music is not of the spirit of god, and if the spirit is like the world, it is not like god. so why would we think that god would accept something that ascribes to the very nature he despises? it seems that we are trying all these gimmicks to "reach" people when Jesus made the message plain for us.

I don't agree about Christian rap being a mess. Maybe you've been listening to the wrong artists. THe Christian rap I listen to has challeneged me to read my word more and be unashamed of the gospel. Its actually a lot bolder and talks about the trials of life more than regular gospel. may I suggest listening to Lecrae. Such songs as Background by him or More or Rebel. Please don't stereotype a method of ministry

@keshealm What!!!!! The Bible says in Psalms 19 that even heaven DECLARES the glory of God; and we have been commanded through the Lord's prayer to do things on earth as in heaven. So.....yes we should declare God and His unmerited favor. Now the method...well. One thing we must realize though is that so are called to go to the places that other were not; there are some people that are in a "win win win" carnal state and must be preached to also. Maybe this song will open people's eyes to Jesus

I think that you are somewhat correct on the Christian Hip hop issue but don't generalize because there are a lot of us out here re-defining hustle in a Christian perspective: making sure that God and He alone gets the glory.

I love this.....I think people need to focus on the message...The music shouldn't matter...The beats shouldn't matter...The people on it shouldn't matter...That does not separate Gospel and Contemporary Christian from Secular Music....It's The message, and what's being said...That separates The genres...Look at the many young people..who are out in the world..following their music...And it's their opportunity as young people themselves, to present Christ in a cool yet graceful way.

Personally, I like the song, I think it's really positive and that people would benefit from it, As I was reading, I thought about how all these secular artist go back to their home churches with remixes of gospel songs. why is it ok for them to remix gospel and not ok for Christians to bring music back to it's original purpose by remixing their songs?

This song would have been fire if people's hands went up for Jesus and not for when he steps into the building. Yes, I know I sound like a legalistic, fanatical "Christian" focused on minute details, missing the souls that could be won by this song; However, we who truly follow Christ have to be careful of the messages we convey in order to become all things to win some-I Cor. 9:19-23. The world already screams "Celebrate my swag"! Christians can't scream, "Celebrate my swag- in Jesus name",lol!

Believers have to be careful not to fall into "self praise and adoration"! Whatever blessings you have, please, keep the focus on God for the gifts. @aznkimchi21: I think it's a contract thing, he owe them an album. I found out the hard way too. The mother at the church was preaching about debt one Sunday. I wasn't listening,I got that call about the debt. I thought it wasn't pertaining to me,I didn't act on it. The enemy can get you to just like the one story in the Bible. When the prophet died and still owe money. His wife had to repay the debt for him. Man if you owe the enemy repay your debt now, so your past don't end up in your future.

@illisticusmc1 I see. But I think still he can avoid it. Contract to do a mainstream album is still a contract with a sinful act, which is a contract with the devil. Therefore his debt can be paid with money (which not to judge but he does have). The debt to pay through money is better than another album that hurts his image as a believer and brings people further from Christ. These are the sacrifices that make us true believers, not submitting to the world, and cutting off our contract to Satan

Also, he's not submitting to the world cause you don't have to be under a Christian label to glorify God. He's leaving his old ways, so he might clean up the album he owe. As stated in Ezekiel "You are responsible for your own action," only you can lose your Grace with God. It's your choice!

Sir, I'm gonna walk in love and not give you the old me, but I will contest that my biggest conflict with this song is that it's not conducive for a new believer nor does it make the body of Christ look self sufficient. New believers already have the challenge of letting old stuff go, but now with this song we tell them to just stamp Jesus on it and you can do what you want? Light doesn't blend w/ darkness; it shines, consuming darkness like it was never there!
