@PrimarchDarion but i thought he sang it to him at the chicago metro in 93, and it was about his younger brother with the genetic disorder that alot of people said was cerebral palsey but billy said it wasnt.
I was ridin in the hatch or bitch or whatever in a CRX which means no seat belt or anything after grabbin a six pack of bud heavy with bob marley crushin the cerwin vegas. dude pulled out of the parking spot headed to mission beach was in 1st gear i looked he's passed the f out, red lining and headed towards an industrial dumpster full o sheet metal. We moved it 6 inches. CRX = suitcase. I walk with contusion on my leg and new perspective on life. I play music now b/c that's reallyallthatmatters
@ViciousDeliciousIV ...Seriously?..Hope you grow up some before you do have kids.Yes it's a great song but why be a dick to your kid by naming it spaceboy?
@ViciousDeliciousIV ...Your right there...MUCH WORSE...But c'mon your better than they are ! Right? Wasn't trying to be an ass .Just think of all the ribbing your kid would have...Good luck to you and at least your listening to cool music at your age not the Disney crap LOL.Take care!!!
this song is almost an anthem to me how soulless music has become today there may be one or two bands that have kept the soul...but its nearly dead im 15 and when im older ill never think " man i remember listening to justin beiber" ill remember the fine 90's music i so love dearly and hold in my heart i only how we realize what where doing to music ...i do hope before its to late and our worlds overtaken with beiber, gaga and rap Bullshit...
@Psycobillyfreakot Hey its not all bad there is still plenty of good music out there try these bands: Poets Of The Fall, Breaking Benjamin, The Fray,Over Dust, Cage The Elephant, Muse, The New Smashing Pumpkins ( Billy is the only original SP in the group LOL), Cat Empire, Sunrise Avenue, Avenged 7 Fold, phoenix, 3 Doors Down. Good music will live on long after you, me and Bill Corgan are dead.
boy where the f*** have i been? why is this the first im hearing of this?? almost makes me cry thinking he wrote this for his brother. good choice uploading it without distractions
Seriously Andremichellavoie ?!! you never heard the pumpkins before :O
I'm so glad for you :) I wish I could hear them, for the first time, all over again.
People who say the Smashing Pumpkins didn't change a thing are talking bollocks. I listened to them, my parents listened to them, my grandparents listened to them. I went to a catholic primary school and the nuns listened to them. They changed hearts and minds. Apologies for the rant. Have a nice day from NewZealand.
@SiliconBong i get it, i lived under a very vast, very soundproof rock for many years!! dont have to emphasize further by telling me your nuns in NZ heard it them before me.
hey btw, d'you hear of this nirvana??? holy shit i like the signer, wonder if their still touring.
awe! thank you soo much for sharing this album! It reminds me of my junior high school years! So much fun! This album...hands down,is one their best. :)
I think that Billy corgan has a brother who is handicapped.and that this song is for him.and about how Billy missed him when he went away to become a rock star
@AnkTiouS117 "Now it's, uh, kind of strange, and, uh, kinda hard for me to talk about, but I thought maybe you could help- um, when we start getting physical, rather than having intercourse, he ends up just masturbating himself, and I end up feeling very alienated and unsatisfied, and it's really come between us."
@Zentin1 Cool car. I was doing a pre delivery inspection on the first CRX si in Oklahoma, jammin to some Zepplin when I caught this rich punk in a 944 Porsche at a traffic light. The look on his face was priceless as I smoked his teutonic wunder machine.
im in high school again, crying somewhere...funny how emo we all were at that age. or it was just me, but the Smashing Pumpkins are all of that to me. first love, first hate, art, emotion.... damn now im all grown up and invisible! :)
Sometimes it feels like the older you get, the more you fade away from whats real and blend in to the army of faceless unemotional people that consider themselfs grown up.
I love you baby. I hope that you truly know that. I will see you soon and love you like I never have before. Please know you're my only one that will ever be. Your heart, body and mind. You are so indescribable yet I can realize all of your beautiful qualities that will forevevr be with me. You make me laugh and cry and just make my entire life worth living. I wouldn't trade you for the world. You have soo much potential too. You are the SHIT!!! Bitch!!!! And I love you more than anything.
If you want to get a true appreciation of the Genius of Billy Corgan, you should check out some of the SP covers on youtube. Makes you realize how brilliant he really is, especially if you've seen them live.
I've always loved SP's soothing but hard sound. So is SP still up and running, I can never tell. Man this band has been through alot of crap with the whole business. I always love em' though.
This album is and has aged so well . I was 18 when it came out ; and i rediscovered it in 2002 . Aint life full of the prettiest , small and so important details ? ! : )
Fucking brilliant, it's been a while but again I thought to myself "fuck off Billy you're too good" lol without meaning any disrespect..... superb songwriting and so much emotion coming across, this was the second song I listened to on repeat loads when I first got the album all those years ago, it remains my favourite album it probably always will be thanks Billy
Awesome song.... I always remember a trip right after my senior year. Had this blasting from a CD player in the floor board because the car radio didn't work.
yeah, thanks for not putting a video up. sometimes people wreck perfectly good music with horrible attempts to make audio and visual go together. way to leave well alone.
I always thought of it as the beginning of the next song - I think silverfuck? Spaceboy is way too sweet a song (and too sweet a meaning) to be ended w/ an interview about a masturbating husband. Silverfuck, on the other hand...
I believe that it is so that the end of this song blends with the beginning of the next track "silverfuck" if i recall correctly, it's been a long time.
i think billy said it was some talkshow or something where a woman was talking about marital discourse, specifically here with her husband masterbating with himself and billy thought it was funny and decided to include it for the fuck of it...and again, this is only something i read a long time ago
i read that this song is the most personal song that he wrote. he wrote it about his younger brother that has autism and cerebral palsy and a mild case of turrets. he was basically a father figure to his brother, and now jesse (billy's brother) is starting to view him more as a friend. that change i read is hard for billy, because he still worries about him
man one of my favorite songs of Smashing Pumpkins, but i dont know wat hes talking about or wat the song means...does anybody know? ive been wanting to know for a long time?
Have you ever had a moment walking in the mountains and a warm breeze made you reflect on the day? Have you seen the snow so heavy that it breaks tree limbs off with green leaves still on? Weather is amazing.
