This was one of the most disappointing movies ever! It had a promising cast: John Payne, June Haver and Charlotte Greenwood but no real musical numbers, terrible color and extremely boring!
I second that emotion! I've always loved the song. And what a cute clip: handsome John Payne, the adorable little girl, the cute dog and GORGEOUS June Haver! What a hot babe she was in her day...hubba hubba to the max, daddy-o! :-)
this song seems quite similar to the one moon doggie (james darren) sings to gidget (sandra dee) in the 1959 movie. interesting that they would pll it out of the file drawer so many years later.
I don't think that's Toto. I think it's Alifie Aluminum, the cross bred cousin to Rin Tin Tin. Of course I may be BARKING up the wrong tree. Those crazy canines...what wacky shenanagins will they be up to next???
The little girl is Connie Marshall, 40's child actress who appeared in the tear-jerker 1946 film, "Sentimental Journey" with John Payne (seen in this video) and Maureen O' Hara.
I just love the film. My son, now 33 and I watched this film together when he was a wee one. I have looked and looked for a copy to no avail. I would love for my little grandson to enjoy this timeless classic. Can anyone out there help me.
Thanks Spacecomics for posting.
You give this sentimental old fool a bit of hope.

ugh! I hate that 1940s house cleaning garb! It looks like prison clothes, or surgeon duds.

Now I know what charm is. I have always loved this simple song by Harry "Hurray for Captain Spaulding" Ruby; now I am hooked on Mr. Payne.

Love John Payne! Remember "Restless Gun" on TV? Who is the little girl? Seems familiar! I love the old movies!
