I wonder how often the official record is exceeded flying fast for fun? The key word is official... Many records ripe to be broken, if you take the effort and research the various sanctioning bodies and their requirements. I would guess that the most official and most stringient being The FAI..... Seems we regularly hit high 90mph unofficially and informally with a GG Motor Cop & his radar gun @ brookhurst + 22 fwy. Saw Marty Kuhns hit 100 w/TSK Blackstar , Tony's Concept 60 crashed @ 96mph!

Interesting May 2010 he was using only 10S on a 90 electric heli and with a flybar. That was just one year ago when 12S and flybarless was rock'n with speed and didn't even need an FAI fuselage. Nowadays we have ungodly fast electric heli's.

I don't know about the numbers but going by how fast it flew by ive seen a polish guy with i for get the name was a 600 something and it went alot faster than that thing maybe 30-40 mph faster! I'm not a heli guy i'm into planes but i'm sure ive seen faster!

No, not anywhere even close to 2.5X. You're thinking of the speed in KPH, kilometers per hour that the TDR goes. Equivalent MPH is around 133. Ken did pretty good but I thought this was going to be a shot at the FAI-F3C record, not Guinness World. FAI is far more strict on the setup of the flight course and measurement techniques of all aspects of the attempt, FYI.
